Korvek |

Korvek trudges across the small bridge crossing the Curandarok river, pausing at its peak to rest his axe on his boot and scan the town. The sun was nearing the horizon by now, but that didn't concern the dwarf. He had reached town before the dangers of nightfall, and he was eager to sit properly and enjoy a proper meal and a drink. He grins at the thought, swinging his heavy weapon back up over his shoulder as he continues into the town. Wandering straight down the first street his boots strike, Korvek soon approaches the Rusty Dragon, a large 3-story to his right. Certainly not the iron walls of Janderhoff but they would do.
Stepping inside, the dwarf is assaulted by the smells of spices. Having already been ravenous, his stomach instantly growls. Korvek pauses briefly to look around before meeting the gaze of the Ulfen man behind the bar. The dwarf grins, perhaps the coincidence of the eyepatch was an omen that he was in the right place? Regardless he steps inside and approaches the bar. "Velcome to the Rusty Dragon. Vhat ees your pleasure?”
Korvek clambers onto a barseat, setting his axe to lean against it down between his legs. He gives the bartender a grin. "That explains why ye haven't shined that thing up, doesn' it?" He chuckles. "Er was this once tha Shiny Dragon, but easier ta rename than maintain?" The dwarf laughs lightly (duration depending on the bartenders reaction) before continuing. "Well met! Seems we have somethin' in common." He flicks the eyepatch covering his ruined eye. "Perhaps some time ye'll share tha tale, but fer now ah'd like a meal an' a room." The dwarfs grin returns, wider than before. ".. An' keep the ale comin. Ah've had a long walk, and worked up a thirst!"

Davorik |

Davorik kept looking down at the piece of paper in his hand.
Take the first right once you come to the temple of Erastil. Keep going down until you see the blacksmith. Take a left and go past the fletcher. Another block down you will see the Rusty Dragon on the right. If you reach the bridge spanning the Sellen River you have gone too far.
Surely he was on the right path that the caravan master indicated. He saw the blacksmith and the fletcher but where was the tavern that Master Shinn told him about? Things were sure different away from home. Everything was much larger and more crowded than he expected. He kept clutching his purse reflexively, hearing too many stories of quick hands and unwary people. He was not going to another statistic in the big city.
Suddenly Davorik caught the sound of music and laughter. Traveling another 100 feet she could make out the sign overhanging the doorway. At last. I need a good meal and some relaxation. The last month of traveling with the caravan was long work with long hours. At least it is over now.. Entering the inn Davorik takes a quick look around before he takes any action. It paid to be cautious in a new area even if the place was recommended by Shinn. Not seeing anything out of the ordinary, Davorik makes his way slowly to a table where he can see the entrance.
Once there he relaxes a bit as he accustomed himself to the Rusty Dragon. Across the room he sees what must be a group of Dwarven explorers with mugs piled high on the table. Not understanding anything from across the room Davorik looks at those closer. A couple is sitting nearby laughing at a private conversation, 3 elves are relaxing at the bar drinks in hand, a group of people standing around the fireplace talking and some dancing to the music. All in all a festive place and one that is comfortable. That is except for the single man two tables away from him. The man was alone and from Davorik could tell was drinking nothing than water. He had a hard look about him and it wasn't just from the heavy flail tht rested by him. It was the fact that no one approached him and few even looked his way. Davorik ordered a meal of roast beef, potatoes and a loaf of bread with butter. A the young lass delivered the food Davorik asked, Who is that 2 tables over?
I don't know but he paid with foreign currency. He is not from around here that much I can tell you. with that she walked away to leave Davorik to his musings. Although Davorik wanted to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, his training and upbringing as a member of the city guard would not let him ignore the man. If the man tried something unlawful Davorik would be ready to intercede with blade and shield if necessary.
As a young man from a small town Davorik is cautious at first when in a new location. It also causes him to be a bit shy until he gets comfortable with his surroundings. When presented with a possible threat Davorik is not afraid to meet it head on if action is called for but is patient enough to scope out the situation first before rushing in.

O.o.... was my posting for Anaach the start of this Interaction in a Bar thing? if so COOL!, if not... interesting coincidence anyway...Lol, to Korvek: I cant wait to see who wins either
Nope, coincidence. :) DM basically asked us to each provide an intro post to the Rusty Dragon, the Inn where I believe the original party first met.

I was kinda asking if my thing was the Dm's inspiration

I guess it was just coincidence Death Keeper, just wanted an example of posting/writing style.
After much deliberation, and a missed flight and several hours stuck in traffic in Houston. I have reached a decision. It was hard and the applications where all good, but I think we'll go with:
Korvek
Mainly his newness and enthusiasm won me over. I am a little worried about over-dwarfing the party with him and Rogar, but it's a risk we'll take.
Korvek, you can report to the Discussion tab of the main thread linked here
DM Variel - I sent you a PM so keep an eye out for it.

So on the 1 year anniversary of our campaign, our wizard gave notice and left the game for RL personal reasons.
We are now looking for 1 arcane type character at level 4 to join the group. You can see the character creation rules on the first post of this thread (Just have to update for 4th level now). The starting wealth will be something like 3,000 gp, based on what the party has so far.
The party is now Cadas (a human cleric of Gozreh), Robin (a halfling court bard), Rogar (a shield bashing dwarven ranger), and Korvek (a dwarven fighter). Gameplay thread is tagged here. It is a good, long-running campaign, I encourage only those who want to be here for the long haul to apply.
The characters are nearly done with the first book of the AP, working their way through the 2nd level of Thistletop. It may be a bit before we can work you into the game once selected (as you're likely not standing in the middle of the dungeon waiting for them.)
Ideally, we would have selections done within a week.

DM DoctorEvil |

This is GM Niles's Sorceror, I haven't spent any money on him yet but I'll finish the sheet if chosen.
So far you are the only complete applicant. I eyeballed your build and it looks okay, though I haven't tested it in Hero Lab yet. Thanks for the submission and you are the man to beat at present.

Edward Sobel |

OK here is my character. and like was pointed out it is nothing like what you are looking for but I thought I would toss it in here anyway, see what happens.
I don't have much of a chance but what the heck, maybe I'll get some feedback at the very least.

Wendy was raised by the female Dragon Grandeeney for some time. She never knew about her birth parents. but she was blessed with magic inside of her. Grandeeney taught Wendy the secrets of Sky Magic, until, one day, along with other Dragons, Grandeeney suddenly disappeared and left Wendy alone.
After wandering around trying to locate her lost mother, Wendy ran into Mystogan, Mystogan allowed her to travel with him, though he was also hopelessly lost on the road. One day, Wendy heard Mystogan utter something by the name of "Anima", and shortly after deemed it too dangerous for Wendy to travel with him further. He left her in the care of a wizard guild by the name of Cait Shelter.
Because of her size, Wendy never did make friends within the guild. and very few knew of her magical potential. While there she kept to herself. and decided to learn about this 'Anima" that Mystogan talked about.
She discovered that the Anima was a portal between worlds. they were of aciant Thasselonian design and very few existed that would even work.
Hidden in the libraries of the guild Wendy found an old scroll. she worked to decipher the runes contained on the scroll and in doing so she managed to open her own Anima righ there in the library.
The portal opened, and Wendy became afraid, not knowing what would come out. she was surprised to discover that a small white cat looking creature appeared. after it appeared the portal was closed.
the cat said its name was Darla and she would be bound to the reader of the scroll. Wendy reached out to touch the mystical talking cat. and when she did the bond was complete. a small rune of bonding appeared on both the cat and on Wendy.
Together, Wendy and darla traveled withthe gild to many locations around Varisia. The guild was well known monster hunters, and Wendy soon begame a monster hunter as well.
Eventually she journied to Sandpoint, hearing tales of the Sandpoint Devil. She hoped Find it and destroy it in the name of her guild.

Thalrik Korun |

Well, this is certainly interesting. My game has been stalled with no GM contact for a month now, and I just announced my departure there. And behold, a game needs an arcane caster, level 4 no less, which Thalrik is.
Submitting Thalrik for consideration. Will need to repurchase equipment ofcourse, but I will hold off on doing so until I am possibly chosen.
Cheers.

Thalrik Korun |

I don't have much of a chance but what the heck, maybe I'll get some feedback at the very least.
Character looks good imo. Normally id comment on losing a caster level on the summoner multiclass, but since its for background ill leave that out.
Really the only comment id have it...A bipedal cat?

yea it walks and talks and has a snobby attitude as well

DM DoctorEvil |

A few of the players have offered their input, and I have taken a little longer than expected to make a decision.
Really wanted an arcane caster to fit in with the party, which includes a cleric, a ranger, a fighter, and a bard. Any non-arcane types have a strike against them, and that eliminates Edward Sobel's submission.
The party already has a CHA based character, Robin, and the group was hoping the arcanist we picked would have skills to craft items, which takes higher INT. This eliminated the sorcerors submitted.
Finally, the choice came down to Thalrik and Malcolm. While Thalrik has more pbp experience and has run the first parts of Runelords with his old campaign, I think I am choosing Malcolm.
He is RL friends with one of our players, has not played much PBP before, and is raring to play. Plus I like his build slightly better.
Thalrik - best of luck finding a new game! I think you just missed the cut for this game twice now...Hope you find something that suits you and you'll be the first one I call if things don't work out.
