High Sentinel's Lodge - Round 2
21 Gold Raider
20 White Raider
17 Talon
16 Green Raider
15 Agatha
11 Trawets
7 Red Raider
5 Meditrina (readied action)
5 Purple Raider
Gold Raider rushes down the stairs, drawing his shortsword as he comes, but still not close enough to trigger a readied attack.
"It's just two broads, boys, let's bum rush them! The others in the back aren't a threat!" he yells rallying his allies.
Readying his bow, White Bandit fires once more at Agatha, but the shot is wildly errant. The bandit tosses down his ranged equipment and draws his shortsword, advancing to combat range.
When he steps out on the porch, Meditrina's readied action is triggered. You may roll that attack if you still want it. White's advance is then only if he survives the flame strike. Talon is also up for the heroes.

Meditrina Vanhishikha |

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Meditrina tries to spot what was happening inside, but sadly the distance and the hectic nature of combat meant she was unable to keep her attention directed. Instead, seeing the Raiders advance, Meditrina launches a bold of flame, hoping to incinerate him before he could hurt her friends.

Remembering the problems they encountered Agatha dives deep into her rage. Her nostrils flare, her pupils widen and with a warcry she slashes at the bandit standing infront of her.

High Sentinel's Lodge- Round 2 - continued
Seeing one of the raiders come out to close with Agatha in melee, Meditrina releases the flame of Sarenrae at the bandit. Unfortunately, her aim is not as true as her faith, and the fire courses past the target harmlessly.
Spying the activity inside the hut, Talon warns the others that reinforcements may be coming. Meanwhile, he nocks an arrow and fires, striking the advancing bandit in the shoulder.
Green Bandit steps out on the porch and fires his shortbow at Meditrina, before dropping it in the snow. The arrow grazes the cleric's neck, bloos welling from the flesh wound, which could've been much worse.
Feeling the battle-fury envelop her, Agatha starts flailing around with her greatsword, the massive strenght behind the blows enough to over power and kill the bandit nearest her.
Green Shortbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Meditrina Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Action is down to Trawets, who cast Mage Armor last round.

High Sentinel's Lodge - Round 2 - concluded
Trawets steps forward and spying the foes inside the building still unleashes a force missile that races inside and smashes into Purple Bandit. That Bandit shakes his head to clear it and fires his bow back at the mage. Despite his magical warding the arrow strikes Trawets, protruding from his shoulder painfully.
Red Raider also takes a shot, this time at Agatha, but the missile is wide of the mark against the raging daughter of the north.
Both the raiders throw down their bows, drawing their shortswords, and advancing to the door of the lodge to join in melee combat.
End of Round 2
purple shortbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Trawets, I show you at 4/9 but that may be a mistake. Did you get hit against the last set of bandits or did I fail to heal you up properly from overnight?

15 Blue Skeleton
15 Agatha
11 Trawets
10 Red Skeleton
7 Red Raider

5 Purple Raider (2 hp dmg)
Gold Raider leaps through the door and attacks Agatha with his shortsword hacking desperately at the raging woman. Even in her frenzied state, Agatha is able to parry the man's best attack.
Gold shortsword: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Meditrina and Talon are up now for the heroes before some reinforcements enter the fight for the bad guys.

Meditrina Vanhishikha |

Kinda hard to work out awkward cones on this map, but I am pretty sure I can hit at least 3 of them with a Burning Hands, without hitting Agatha or provoking an AoO. Let me know if this is untrue.
Meditrina unleashes a Burning Hands on the Bandits, blasting them with flame.

High Sentinel's Lodge - Round 3 - continued
Meditrina slides over to the edge of the porch and cuts loose with a flaming cone of Burning Hands. The fires of Sarenrae engulf two of the bandits, burning one and singeing the other.
The Red Bandit who was burnt badly from the divine spell then takes an arrow in the midsection from sharpshooting Talon. The combination of wounds clearly affect the man, but he remains upright.
Shortsword drawn, Green Raider advances through the snow and attacks Agatha. The blow from her off-hand side is too quick to be parried by the raging barbarian, and she takes a major wound in the side for 7hp.
Ducking out the door next is a human skeleton wielding a nicked up scimitar. The skeleton is rimed with ice, and a plume of cold vapor swirls around its icy bones. It cackles maniacally as it advances to the fight.
Feeling no pain from her bleeding side, Agatha's rage is terrible to behold. She smites the Gold Bandit in front of her, cleaving him nearly in two, as he falls dead in the snow.
DC 15 Reflex Red: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Agatha Dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
The action is now down to Trawets. The Red Bandit is smoking and been shot with an arrow. Purple was hit by your force missile and is a bit singed by the fire spell. Green is seemingly uninjured and in melee with Agatha. A new skeleton enemy has appeared outside also. Agatha after that wound, I have you at 8/17 hp (6/15 when our of rage).

High Sentinel's Lodge - Round 3 - concluded
Trawets, seeing the distress of Red Raider, ends his struggle by blasting him with another force missile. The bandit, still smouldering, falls backwards in the snow, unconscious.
Another frozen, icy skeleton appears behind the first filling the doorway with their terrible forms.
Straining to see inside the hut, you see a tall man in a long fur cape descend the stairs, a shortsword in hand. As the man walks he is clearly casting a spell of some kind. As he enters the lodge great room, he disappears from your sight.
Staying clear of Agatha's raging form, Purple Raider instead leaps from the porch to attack Meditrina. The raider's sword skills are impressive and he soon wounds the cleric of Sarenrae, cutting a slash across her abdomen from which blood spills heavily.
End of Round 3
purple shortsword: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Meditrina dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Meditrina is at 2/9 hp now also. All of you have been hit so far and the boss is now coming. Get ready for Round 4.

Meditrina Vanhishikha |

Can we have a running HP total for all of us, makes it easy knowing when to channel, who to channel etc etc.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 1 = 24

Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Meditrina will retreat backwards. If she can channel energy in such a way to affect only our allies (although again, I don't know if its worth channeling due to being unsure how everyone else is), she will do so. If not, she will cast Bless instead.
Channel (if required): 1d6 ⇒ 3
Quite the difficult fight for a 1st level party

![]() |

I did need a heal, Meditrina...thx. And this IS a tough battle for level 1!
Talon fires an arrow at the nearest bandit, but the cold causes his hands to shake almost violently as he fires. The arrow lodges in wood planks above the doorway to the lodge.
shortbow Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 for damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

DM DoctorEvil |

I don't mind adding the running total of HP on the Round resets, but it is sort of everyone's responsibilities to keep their stat line updated and current in case others need to peek. I think all the heroes are wounded, some significantly so, the channel is well timed. Glad the fight is tough, its supposed to be! It is the bandit headquarters after all!
Current HP status (after channel)
Meditrina 5/9
Agatha 11/17 raging (normal 9/15)
Talon 5/11
Trawets 9/9

DM DoctorEvil |

Talon, so noted. I have updated my information to have you at 6/10
High Sentinels Lodge - Round 4 - continued
Meditrina steps back from her attacker and grasping her holy symbol, she brings the healing aura of Sarenrae down upon all within 30' of her. Since she can't selectively choose the targets, the healing also aids Purple Bandit who was wounded before.
You have not seen skeletons exactly like this, but as a Sarenite, you have seen flaming skeletons before. These are likely much the same, but with the ice motif instead.
Best course is 5' step without provoking AoO and without Selective Channel, your radius heals one bad guy also. In my game, the unconscious or dead guys aren't coming back due to a channel, but will aid the live bad guys.
As the wind gusts briskly, Talon shivers violently in the cold, his bowshot firing high and wide of any target.
Continuing to circle Agatha, Green Raider steps up 5' and slashes at her with his shortsword, but the attack is weak and ill-timed, and the raging barbarian knocks it aside easily.
Blue Skeleton swings its ancient scimitar at Agatha hitting the maiden in the back and side as he defends against the bandits. The scimitar cuts deep for 5hp. The blade is also unnaturally cold, and the heroine takes an additional 2hp frost damage. Total of 7hp. The presence of the frozen skeleton near Agatha causes the temperature of the air near to drop precipitously as the thing's frozen aura spreads over her.
Frost skeletons have an icy aura, and those that start their turns adjacent to them take 1d6 cold damage. This applies to Agatha to start her turn this round. Damage is 4hp this round.
Green Shortsword: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Blue Skel Scimitar: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Agatha Dmg: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + (2) = 7
Agatha Dmg, frozen aura: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Agatha and Trawets are up next for the heroes. Agatha is down to 0hp, and in rage. She'll likely go negative when the rage ends.

![]() |

Agatha is staggered. She will use a full retreat action and moving behind the others, hoping to be healed again so that she can continue the fight.

DM DoctorEvil |

High Sentinels Lodge - Round 4 - concluded
Agatha begins a withdraw, her rage still active despite the precariousness of her situation. Her withdraw lets her slip past the skeleton, but the Green Bandit takes a poke at her with his shortsword as she moves farther away, but the swing misses hitting the wounded northerner.
By rule you can only take a restricted withdraw as a single move action while disabled or risk going under. The first square you leave is fine, but you also provoke leaving the second square (from Green Bandit). It's a miss so no harm.
Trawets fires another Force Missile at Purple Raider, this shot is the last straw, and that bandit falls unconscious in the snow.
Red Skeleton steps out onto the porch and looks to advance on Meditrina, but on a command from the leader, it stops turning its head back to inside the lodge, and holding its position.
From inside the hut, the sound of a spell being cast emanates to those outside, but nothing else comes from it for now.

Meditrina releases another searing sheet of flame from her hands, catching both Blue Skeleton and Green Bandit in the blast. The fiery spell wounds the Green Bandit, but it effect on the wintry skeleton is impressive. The skeleton actually explodes sending icy shards of bone in a 5' radius and ending the threat from that creature.
Seeing the purple bandit go down, Talon switches his aim to Green, and the arrow along with the fire dmg prove enough to drop that foe also.

Agatha stands motionless, her wounds slowly sucking the life out her, her chest heaving.
Trawets advances and releases his sheet of fiery flames at the skeletons (and hopefully the invisible leader) in the doorway. This skeleton, like the last one, bursts into icy fragments in the sheets of flame.
The smoking outline of the invisible leader can be seen beating out he flames on his cloak, and retreating into a doorway inside the lodge.

Feeling much stronger himself, Talon moves to help Agatha from the snow.
He does not say anything to her, but helps her stand.

After releasing all of her healing energy, Meditrina sees that all her allies are standing tall, except Agatha who still remains wounded and fatigued.
Her HP, non-raging, are at 6/15
Talon doesn't see any signs of the invisible bandit. He never stepped outside, and he was actually visible entering the door to the south off the main lodge room.
Entering the lodge, the heroes see a large table and two benches which run the length of the hall, and a twenty-foot-high ceiling rises into the rafters overhead. To the west, a roaring fireplace provides a welcome heat and light while to the south, a flight of stairs ascends to a wooden balcony overlooking the room.
Bedrolls, straw mattresses, and piles of blankets lie close to the fire, and it's clear the bandits camped here. There is a passage to the west and a door on the north side of the room also.

DM DoctorEvil |

The door to the north opens into an empty bedroom. A bed and chest stand there, but before Meditrina can investigate further, she is pulled to the southern door where Talon stands ready to fling it open.
On the count, Talon opens the door, revealing a large bedroom. Four beds, two large chests, and a single table occupy this room. Three windows on the south side give a spectacular view of the wintry gorge beyond.
Standing in the room is the leader of the bandits, who wears a strange cloak and wields a shortsword. In front of him, are two more bandits, but they both look quite sick. Large pustules cover their exposed skin and the men look half-dead on their feet. These fellows also carry shortswords.
Worse, in front of them stand two obviously dead men, covered with the same pustules, but both showing fatal stab wounds as well, these lumbering men are unarmed, but appear to be ready to attack anyway.
