About Meditrina Vanhishikha

Backstory:
Meditrina Vanhishikha had always been a headstrong child, something that frequently got her into trouble. Brought up by her father, Meditrina never knew her mother, who she was, what she looked like, where she was…and indeed, her father refused to even discuss the subject. This was a source of much sadness for Meditrina, as she was often teased by the boys in her village about being motherless, leading her to spend large amounts of time alone, or with her remaining parent.

Her father quickly realised what was going on, and, as a devout worshiper of Sarenrae, he coaxed his daughter to forgive them, which also teaching her the values of defending others more vulnerable than yourself. Meditrina always listened carefully, occasionally asking questions, but struggled to forgive the people that had bullied her for so long.

Her father, was also a firm believer in teaching his daughter how to deal with the perils of the world, and thus, once a week he would take his scimitar, and teach his daughter on the finer points of self-defence. Meditrina struggled with this as well, but persevered, knowing it was important to her father, and soon mastered it.

As Meditrina grew slightly older, she began accompanying her father on some of his trips. Her father often looked for various religious artefacts, selling most of them to make a living, but making a point to gift the Church of Sarenrae any important artefacts relevant to their faith that he found, free of charge. Once, Meditrina and her father came across a box with an ornate rune inscribed upon it. Overcome by curiosity, her father opened it, unleashing a blast of icy wind, freezing him solid in a fraction of seconds.

Now an orphan, Meditrina travelled to the only place where she felt safe, the Church that her father had supported for so long. The Church took her in as Meditrina studied to be a priestess. Her plans changed however, when she discovered that the box had the seal of Irrisen engraved within it. Stories her father had told her filtered back, as she recalled the good and evil existing in the world, and she decided to make it her goal to eventually travel to Irrisen, and begin to eradicate any unredeemable evil still in existence there. Meditrina was nothing if not practical however, and spent a number of years preparing herself by studying the local languages of the Northern region, before intending to travel to the Crown of the World, to talk to the Snow Elves for more information on the box and the writing on it. With such a long journey ahead of her, she would frequently stop at various cities for the night. Currently, she is staying in Heldren, waiting for the famous Harvest festival.

Appearance and Personality:
Meditrina is a softly spoken human female, with long dark red hair, fair skin, and blue eyes. Having lost her parents, Meditrina is naturally distrustful of the world, save for fellow worshipers of Sarenrae, who she instinctively trusts. Meditrina is naturally a forward thinker, preparing for things ahead of time, but is quick to respond to an immediate threat that weakens her position. In social functions, she naturally fades into the background, getting a feel for various people, before striking up a conversation with many of them later, surprising many with her grasp of social situations, as she shows remarkable tact, poise and finesse in this regard.
