Aarion looks down at a pouch on his belt, which contains two vials of alchemists fire. After pondering the consequences of the blast, he raises an eyebrow.


Undead End - round 3 - continued

With the way blocked by zombies and allies, Silverback and Splittooth hold back, watching for an opening.

Orovan's punch misses everything as the undead gillman floats like a butterfly.

Also stuck without a way to reach the enemy, Aarion makes sure nothing is coming from behind.

Ruinor's glob of acid sails harmlessly past all the enemies as well.

Josnavaarin slashes the nearest zombie with his curved blade then tries to get past the zombies once again, to clear room for his mates. Once again the zombie shuffles into his way, not allowing the elven warrior to pass, and striking him hard in the process.

Red Zombie then makes his normal attack, also on Josnavaarin which misses. Purple zombie cries out in frustration as it cannot get to any of the living flesh with his counterpart in the way.

Undead End - Round 2 - concluded

Max looks at the tactical situation, and with his buff already out there, realizes there is litte he can do until his allies start backing up allowing more access to the undead monsters blocking the cave.

"Try backing up!" he cries at his friends, "that way we aren't bottle necked."

He shows what he means by withdrawing back a bit.

Undead End - Round 3

Aarion delays, reading his reach weapon if any enemies get close enough for him to use it.

Ruinor lobs more acid over the heads of his allies, and splashes it on the head of the nearest zombie. The magical acid burns the flesh and a foul odor arises from the reaction.

Slashing successfully at the closest zombie, Josnavaarin falls back, allowing the zombies to step up and into the fray. His retreat provokes an attack from the wounded zombie which punches him again as he falls back for 6 more hp damage.

Still looking for actions from Silverback and Orovan this round with the square nearest the zombies open.

My bad, I missed on of those hits in my damage tally. Your blow drops the red one, and you can disregard the AoO from it as a result.


Undead End - Round 3 - concluded

As Josnavaarin slashing blade finishes one of the zombies, he pulls back. The remaining zombie rushes in to fill the gap, oblivious to the killing zone created by the party.

As Silverback's sling stone misses, a mighty blow from Orovan staggers the zombie, then Aarion's fauchard finishes him off, ending the fight.

Sorry for the confusion.


The body lying at the back of the cavern turns out to be a dhampir male which appears to have raised these fallen gillmen as undead. The evil creations turned on him, killing him in the process. There are notes in the dhamphir's pockets about "...starting an army of undead fish people..."

Among the bodies in the cavern is a quiver full of fine looking arrows, and a ring with a fine black pearl set in the center.

Spellcraft DC 18:
The arrows are magical (+1) and there are 10 of them.

A search of the room reveals a hidden door in the northern wall.

With the last of the animated dead out of the way, Aarion moves into the larger room and begins searching the area.

"Nice job finishing off those zombies. What have we here?" Ruinor says as he studies the items found on the dhampir.

"This is a ring of protection. While I could use it, I think it would be more beneficial to have one of the fighters take it. I'm not positive about the arrows but they radiate magic and their fine craftmanship will probably help them find their target. Does anyone use a bow?"


You may take 10 on the arrows. Time is not an issue here.

The secret door opens into another long hewn cavern. This one looks much less traveled, and dust and cobwebs fill the dark, dank hall which leads to the east.

The floor is damp, and the ceilings range from 7-9 feet high. The passageway is cramped in some areas, and wide in others ranging from 2-8 feet in width.

From some distance away down the passage you hear a resonant voice call out "As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in teh deepest reaches of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu." It sounds like Janira Gavis, still engaged with the minotaur.

Do you travel down the passage, if so, please give your marching order.

Who will fall into line behind brave Aarion?

As the sounds of Janira echo off the walls, Aarion takes off after her. The route leads through a maze of tight passages, short climbs, and steep ascents as you move from east to west.

At last you see a bit of dim light at the far end of the tunnel, but immediately ahead is a crossroads junction where another path cross your corridor at right angles.

Hear the voice of Janira is quite clear coming from directly in front of you as she continues her lecture at the enraged minotaur "Letus remember the sacrifice of fabled Yasmin bin Faroud, favored of the Ten, how gave her life distracting Zythrustianianx, draconic scourge of the Society, so dozens of junior agents could survive. Her act of benevolence is the epitome of cooperation within the...OOF...Society."

Aarion sees the moonlit outside just ahead, and knowing Janira is battling the minotaur right outside, he puts on a final burst of speed.

Unfortunately, for him, he fails to spy the gelatinous cube that stretches completely across the path. Aarion runs smack into the translucent creature, enveloping himself in its gooey goodness.

Aarion needs a DC 12 Reflex to avoid being engulfed by the cube

See Map attached at top. LMK if I have the marching order wrong. With the slick floors, any Acrobatics is at a -4 penalty. Also, since you can hear Janira's performance, you gain the +2 competence bonus to attacks, dmg, and saves vs charm and fear.

(Aarion will use the withdraw action to relocate to a more tactical location.)


Tight Spaces - Round 1 - continued

Aarion is able to recover his balance and reverse gears before the oozy cube engulfs him completely. He avoids the paralytic sting as well, and withdraws to a wider spot in the tunnel, hoping his allies follow along.

Still the whole parties initiative. Orovan up directly next,but everyone goes before the cube does.

After everyone runs by Jos throws a chakram down the open hall and sidesteps to other corridor before he pulls out elven sword.

Once again with no option for entering melee, and seeing the rest of the group in good positions to fight it, Silverback tries his sling again, but does not seem very adept with it.

Tight Spaces - Round 1 - continued

Orovan rushes back, reading his attack with longspear should the cube pursue them down the hall.

Josnavaarin throws a chakram which hits the cube, then the elf ducks down a side passage waiting for the ooze to follow.

Without clear melee attack, Silverback hurls a stone down the corridor, and while the cube is an easy target, the stone clatters off the ceiling harmlessly.

Ruinor and Max are on the clock. If not post soon, I will run them to keep the action moving.

Finding himself with no one between him and the cube, Ruinor lets forth a jet of flame. "Eat this!" he yells as the line of fire streams down the passageway towards the cube.

Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 Reflex save (DC14) for half.

He then moves to the back of the line.


Tight Spaces - Round 1 - continued

Ruinor blasts forth a jet of flame at the gooey cube, and as it burns, he steps back to the rear, letting the new tactical plan play out.

Maxmilian draws out his melee weapon and readies an action to attack the cube if it comes within range.

The cube moving slowly, oozes down the corridor after those that distrubed its trap. Its movement triggers a readied attack from Orovan.

The cube then turns its attention on Josnavaarin slamming at him with an oozy psuedopod which blindly flails about not nearing the elf.

End of Round 1

Orovan stabs and kicks at the blob in hopes to bring it down. Or melt it. Or whatever happens to such things when they die.

Jos attacks the cube violently with his blade after its attempt failed to hit him. He however was too anxious and his blade is wild.

(Orovan, I believe you would get an attack when the cube moved within 10' of you, as your readied action was triggered. You would also get an AoO attack when the cube left the threatened square and moved in. Then you would take your normal attack for round 2. I believe you are missing the attack from your readied action.)

Round 2 Action

Aarion watches as Orovan unleashes what could only be described as a flurry of death upon the jello like cube. Inspired by the man's ferocity, Aarion carefully observes the creature's reaction to Orovan's attack. Trying not to strike his comrade, Aarion thrusts his Fauchard between Orovan and the ridged wall in an attempt to strike the creature.

(Move action) Study target on the cube, (Standard action) Attack the cube. I am assuming the creature has cover and will be applying a -4 to the attack.

(Attack) Fauchard: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 - 4 = 10
(Damage) Fauchard: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
