Marnos Moonshadow

OK, I've skimmed the gameplay thread, you have 3 characters in play@ Kalvin, a Paladin of Iomedae; Graxton a half-orc Cleric of Gorum; and Crux, the mad tortured wizard.
Currently the plan is to retrieve the brooch and approach the guard in the morning. Presumably that is where Lazlo and I come in; with our connections to the guard I am assuming we will be "assigned" to the group for whatever task they are charged with.
Is that right?

Well, how about this:
Marnos needs to report to his friend and handler, Malik. Malik has been called into the throne room to give an account of the riots (perhaps as an aide to Field Marshall Kroft) so Marnos goes there hoping to report in a quiet moment.

Welcome and greetings to our merry little game!
Lazlo Verrgaio
Thank you, from what I've read it seems you guys are having tons of fun.
Now how did a bitter, overly grim noble find himself in a throne room...how about:
After going to the area the mysterious woman informed him of, Lazlo found no trace of the group of three. When he started asking around for them, the guards took notice(I am assuming at this time that they are already on the way to the throne room, and as such anyone asking after people who are about to meet whats left of the Korvosan royalty would be awfully suspicious) and dragged him there to see if the three adventurers recognized Lazlo as an enemy or a friend (please go with the latter T.T)

If you both ready, I'll get a post for the rest of the group, and one for you as well.

Hey guys. I didn't have a chance to weigh in due to the birth of my newest son a few weeks ago, but the both of you were at the top of my recommendations for joining. Looking forward to playing with you.
And while I have your attention, has anyone ever told you about the 7th Act of Iomedae?
Graxton Soth
Congradulations Kalvin!!!
7th Act of Iomedae? Please tell...
Graxton Soth
Of course it could, ;)

@DMDoctorEvil, that's fine! Just a job like any other, perhaps more interesting than normal (not that you'd know it to look at Marnos).
Look forward to working with you guys, and congratulations on the birth of your newest son, Kalvin (2nd son? 3rd?).
It's kinda funny, having a rogue and an inquisitor to replace - a rogue and an inquisitor! Oc, we are different characters and builds.
And Marnos is fairly laconic (unlike most of my other characters, lol), so I will be trying to express him through facial expressions and other verbal communications (e.g. "Hmmm.", "Hmm?", "Harrumph!") instead. Maybe just lay down his thoughts.

I was a 3rd child :D. It's wonderful to hear that you have both sexes, though I am sure you would have loved them no matter what (I know I love mine). I hope they are all play nicely together.
Looks like Lazlo and I are going to have a difficult introduction, since neither of us are great speakers. We seem to be doing ok, despite that.

Oh I am definitely enjoying it, its not often that you see two overly quiet characters in one room together, so its a new and interesting experience if you ask me.
Graxton Soth
LOL!

Each bar is what 4 or 5 pounds, thus we have 40 or 50 pounds of silver and the nice box probably get 20 gp just for that. 5 gp per pound, so 200gp to 250 gp. Am I right?
1d20 ⇒ 11 Appraise check for Graxton.
Split that 3 ways, gives us about 100 gp each. Not much to buy with that, a few scrolls or a weakened wand of cure would be nice with my limited healing. Each charge is 15 gp, so I could find a wand for 5 to 7 charges would be ideal. A scroll of cure light is 25 gp, a wand is much cheaper.
What do you say Dr Evil, can I scrounge up a wand of cure light, CL 1 or lesser vigor, CL 1 with a handful or two of charges?
DM DoctorEvil
That appraise check isn't going to get you a realistic value of the bars. If you want to try to sell them unappraised you can, or you can show them to the others in the group.
Certainly, in a city like Korvosa, there are cure wands available. Just have scrounge up the cash for it. You still have all the other items on the Loot Tracker as well, right?
Kalvin Theordos
How close are we to Level 2, Lay-On-Hands will come in handy soon.
Also, Dr. Evil, I was considering taking an archetype, which would eliminate my spell casting, but give me a bard like ability, unless I use a wand, I don't have to make a decision until level 4 because that's when the first change comes, but the Archetype is Warrior of the Holy Light, I might blend it with Oath of Vengeance if you're cool with that.
DM DoctorEvil
Let me rephrase the post above. Based on reading some Message board stuff, we should probably be playing fast leveling speed, really on any 3.5 based AP.
I am also awarding 100xp per person story award for the interaction with Grau Soldado, and another 50 xp for interaction with imps and psuedodragons.
These awards give you 697/1300 or 54% of Level 1.

Graxton would like to look for a MC backpack, allowing him to carry more.
Any chance he could find or get one?
Mastercraft weapon for Kalvin = 300gp
Mastercraft weapon for Graxton = 300gp though thinking on it, he will pass to get some more healing for the group.
Scrolls for Crux = 300 gp
Wands of cure light and lesser vigor = 300gp, thus 10 charges of each
Healer's kit = 50 gp
Alchemist fire (2) = 40 gp
flask of acid = 10 gp
Assuming we know the value of the bars, and the others want to wait...
Wolfgang Rolf
Either way is fine with me Doc, so I'll leave that decision to Gav.
If possible I'd like to make a change to my feat choices, you see I am planning to have Lazlo pick up two weapon feint and I thought that improved feint was one of its prerequisites...it isn't, so if you'll allow me I'll switch it out with improved disarm, which was a feat I was planning to pick up anyway.
Gavmania
Well, both characters have been around, so it would make sense to have some experience. While I don't object to having characters of different levels, it can make more work for the GM to craft suitable encounters, so I vote we both have prior experience. it just tidies things up a bit IMHO.
Graxton Soth
Or even another wand if you had a specific spell in mind.
Graxton Soth
:(
DM DoctorEvil
I thought we sold most of that stuff to the abbottess of Calistra?
I couldn't get anyone to agree to that when we were discussing (except Dax). I don't mind if that's what you think you did. The only things I heard you saying you'd keep back then were the Wand of Magic Missile and a tanglefoot bag.
Anything else from the list before I turn it into coin? (this includes selling the oil of keen edge and silversheen unless someone speaks up).
I'll give you till tomorrow to take any items but if you sell as I suggest you'll re-coup 1713.5gp total divided 5 ways (for the first five players) you get 342.7gp each in addition to a share of the silver bars. If you sell them also you'll net full price 1000gp more since they are legal tender.
Not sure how many ways you are dividing the 1000gp, or if you are doing something like buying a CLW wand and then splitting the difference.
Graxton Soth
The healing will get spread around well enough, and it seemed that the bars were for returning the brooch, so splitting all the cut between Crux, Kalvin and Graxton. Right?
DM DoctorEvil
No, the reward was for returning the brooch which Lazlo and Marnos did not participate in. The queen assumed the others would want to help her save the city and paired you together.
If you want to cut them in for a share, feel free, but they shouldn't expect it. If you split the value of the ingots 3 ways, that's 333.3 more gp for each of the three mainstays or a total of 676gp each in total to spend.
Once 2 of you agree on this plan, I'll update the tracker and you can start shopping.
Graxton Soth
I am ready to sell it all.
Wolfgang Rolf
@DM: I think you missed my post, so I'll ask again. Is it okay if I make a change to my current feat choices? To be more specific I would like to switch out improved feint(which I thought I needed to get two-weapon feint, turns out I don't) with improved disarm, a feat I was planning to get anyway.
