I think Camris still needs to come back from Paizocon (or is still in the aftermath...;P). As for Dakota if she's unavaiable at the momentwe can always bot her until she returns.

Jokum of the Breakbones |

Hi all, starting this afternoon I'll be undergoing some crazy intensive workshop training that's expected to run basically twelve hours a day, every day, for the next three weeks. I should be able to post sometimes (on breaks and so on, and at home if I'm not too exhausted), and I'll be doing my level best to keep up, but please feel free to bot me if things start to lag.
Thanks!

Arthas Sword of Ragathiel |

Camaris, what is your thoughts on Arthas dispatching these minions? My thought on it it these are soldiers of hell. Being a paladin of Ragathiel I think he would be justified in executing them, especially because the city is in a state of war.
Wondering what your thoughts on Paladin of Ragathiel conduct.

![]() |

Well, for my thoughts, Ragathiel's Celestial Obedience is to execute a convicted criminal.
Iomadae will not tolerate these minions of pure evil; the time for surrender and mercy has passed.
I'd say that us striking them dead would not be a problem.
Unless, of course, Camris thinks it would be.
Edit: technically, they're minions of the Abyss. The soldiers of Hell, Cheliax's forces, actually have sent soldiers down to fight the demons, I believe. If it matters.

Karthak Ironbreaker |

As for your resident inquisitor of Torag, his morality says to kill them. Under other circumstances he could have asked for trial before execution, but at this point it's clear that's not a viable option as we are at war and the fate of the city is on ballance. So, Torag being a pragmatic staregist deity I think it's perfectly justified to kill these soldiers of the abyss since we have no means to subdue them and ensure they don't attack us again later.

Voren the Outsider |

I'm a bit confused on how my witch familiar's deliver touch spells ability works. Could someone help clarify that?

![]() |

Gonna work on my post tomorrow, this is just a check-in.
As for delivering touch spells, Voren, you can have your scorpion hold the charge for a touch spell and then deliver it, just as if it was you discharging the spell.
It allows you to cure/buff from a distance, and just puts your familiar in danger.
Which, for a witch, could be a huge risk.

Arthas Sword of Ragathiel |

Who wants the morning star? It's the best weapon a witch can use I think. He has a +1 Morning star to trade in for it. We can give that one to someone who has no magical weapon.

![]() |

I'll use Voren's old one until we can sell it if no one else needs it, but I can make my sword "magical" without much problem.
I'd rather use my longsword anyway. Hopefully I can get it truly enchanted soon.
Magic overcomes a few demon DR's I think, so.
Also, witches get all simple weapons, so it's not the best, but he's proficient in it, which works.

Voren the Outsider |

Does adamantine count as cold iron? My current Morningstar is only a +1. I think that I could use my own main weapon that can really affect demons (other than my dagger) for when I do find myself in melee.

Karthak Ironbreaker |

I don't think adamantine counts as cold iron Voren. A +3 weapon bypasses cold iron and silver DR, a +4 weapon bypasses adamantine DR and a +5 weapon bypasses allignment based DR. That's it

Voren the Outsider |

So, what would the +1 adamantine morningstar count as? I'm assuming it's a +1. But, I want to believe that it's higher due to the fact that it's made from a special metal.

Voren the Outsider |

Okay. And I'm assuming that it weighs the same as a normal morningstar.

The hand of the Inheritor guides me!
(It's probably the dice gods.)
As a future plan/thought, what do y'all think about the Inheritor's Crusader?
It gives me full BAB for a while, and a really thematic ability at third, along with cleric spell progression.
The problem? I don't have enough skill points to qualify.
So, I'll probably go oracle again next level (for Emlarge Person), and then maybe cleric again before heading into Inheritor's Crusader.
Thoughts?

Voren the Outsider |

Yeah. That was awesome!
Iavdi, I like that prestige class. It looks like a paladin but with some cool abilities. I really like the capstone ability. I wish I could take a prestige class. But, that would impede on my abilities as a witch (unless I became a winter witch, but I don't have the winter patron). I could do a riftwarden, but that really wouldn't mesh with the build I have in mind.
I'm still having trouble with choosing my mythic abilities. So many to choose from!

![]() |

Yeah, it's really awesome and flavorful. Also, enlarge person will be useful to have.
I need to start using spells more, actually, in order to make up for not full BAB.
As for mythic, I know I'm going with Champion/Hierophant, which means I need to take Dual Path at first tier.
For my path ability, thinking Juggernaut (champion) for its pure awesomeness, Impossible Speed (champion) for its usefulness, or something else.
Open to suggestions!

Voren the Outsider |

So, again, how do we divide the potions and scrolls? We know that Arthas isn't interested in the potions of clw, Iavdi can't take them, and she wants a scroll or two of comprehend languages.

Voren the Outsider |

Rules question: when I use a scroll or wand, I have to roll UMD, right? I just thought about that.

![]() |

Well, it depends on whether or not it's on your list.
Comprehend Languages is on the witch list, so there's no need to UMD the scroll.
As for your Magic Missile wand, you should be rolling a UMD check each time, with a Dc of 20.
If you succeed, it works.
If you don't, then it doesnf, but you don't use a charge either.
I didn't remember Magic Missle wasn't on the witch list, that's my bad.

Voren the Outsider |

How so? I'm not really familiar with Tom Petty.

Arthas Sword of Ragathiel |

Oh baby don't it feel like heaven right now
Don't it feel like somethin' from a dream
Yeah I've never known nothing quite like this
Don't it feel like tonight might never be again
We know better than to try and pretend
Baby no one could have ever told me 'bout this
The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part

Okay, wow. We hit the jackpot. We'll deal with getting it back to the defenders later, right now, there's only one thing I would really appreciate getting besides the actual holy symbol: the +1 blinding heavy steel shield. Come on, it's Iomaedan! Besides, blinding is cool and flavorful, if not terribly useful. Everything else I either already have, or could be better used by someone else. Namely, the masterwork cold iron mace. Does anyone not have a masterwork cold iron weapon? My specific breastplate is already +1, and I'll only be upgrading it. So.

Jokum of the Breakbones |

My sword is already +1, but actually not cold iron. (I thought at the time the magic bonus made it count as CI, but I see that's not the case.) I'm weighing whether it's worth it for me to take a CI long sword since the damage is so much lower...
That arrow of evil outsider slaying, though, I would love. I'll stack that up with gravity bow on whatever huge demon is undoubted my guarding the wardstone.
