For explaination, Athas does not realize the rest of the party is having such trouble downstairs. His player didn't even realize it. So he thinks he is helping you by keeping the new attackers upstairs. Plus he figures you will kill them off, heal, then come upstairs.

He knows he is taking a huge gamble, but he doesn't want the whole castle coming down on the party, plus if they lead him to the shard he can strike it. That is more important than anything.

Hello everybody,
My posting has been sporadic lately, mainly because of work load but also because I found out I can't "feel" this character. I like the flavour but the mechanics have turned out to be quite dull, frankly. So, in order to avoid keeping the others from playing and enjoying a great adventure (and, if I may say so, a very good GM), I've decided to retire Dakota from this pbp.
I apologize for any inconvenience this decision might cause, although I doubt that Dakota will be missed much when the effectiveness of the party is concerned.

I wish you all a great game! I'll be surely peeking every now and then to see how it goes and what adventures await our heroes. You're an excellent party and I'm sure you will have a great time.

I'm grateful to DM-Camris for his generous offer and to Karthak and Voren for their kind words, but as I said before I'm having a tough time at work lately and in all honesty I can't find the time nor the energy to buld a new character. I'm sorry to leave this team as I can see (now more than ever) that it is truly a remarkable group of fine people, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be up to the task right now and would only slow down the game - and the fun - for the rest of the party.

I hate to do this, but school is just taking too much of my time away for me to give this game my full attention.
I love this game, this cast of characters, and Iavdi herself, but I feel that I am just taking away from all of your experiences with my lack of posting.

That being said, I have decided to take a step back, and will drop out of this game.
If I find myself able to rejoin, then I shall, but I fear that may not be for a while.

If my posts are too long let me know guys/gals and I will shorten them. ^^;

I tend to explain actions with greater detail as it allows me to picture the combat more fluidly. But I try t avoid 14 paragraphs of useless info. It also helps my tech writing skills if I focus on more descriptive words over boring text lol. But never hesitate to ask me to tone it down if needed. ;)

I tend to build my Magusi for battlefield control 2nd and close combat 1st, color spray is my old standby when greatly outnumbered. I wish the DC was higher but it still is a useful little spell. xD

Anyone who plays gestalt I suggest Magus (Bladebound, Kensai)/Alchemist (Grenadier) that combo isn't super powerful but it is the most flavorful combo I've ever done xD.
