I'll just clarify that I don't think the party would have big problems handling the "night watch". The problem is that there would be no uninterrupted 8 hours of rest during the night if you keep being harassed by shadows every now and then :)


It's probably a good thing that the ogre mage monk has so far only had rolls of 10+ on 3 of her 17 attacks :)

It's been one long day. :) Looks like you're right. I think I have a plan in any case.


As long as the group manages to get her into negatives before she punches everyone unconscious, this should work out fine :)

It seems as if a few monk levels aren't quite as bad as various message board posts keep claiming!

A dip in monk for monsters with already amazing stats? Yes. Full class for PCs? Nope.


You do have a point there. The funny thing is I only added those monk levels because I could see no plausible way for her to inconspicuously hide a Large greatsword and a Large longbow within easy reach. So I figured getting some flurrying unarmed strikes would be a nice replacement :)

Besides, I have full confidence in the group overcoming any obstacle I set before them!


Spell and ability update:

Appario has both of his 1st-level spells remaining, plus one use of lay of hands.

Derek has three 1st-level spells remaining, plus various Morrowfall-powers.

Maddok has one 1st-level spell remaining.

Xerath has no spells remaining, but eight uses of heavenly fire (which sadly doesn't deal fire damage).

Yahirma has three 4th-level spells remaining, plus five uses of reminder of death and all ten uses of undead servitude.

Seeing how drained the party is, I'm going to agree with Are. I'm not worried about being harried, I'm more worried that we won't have enough left to face a real threat if we're attacked in the middle of the night.

Let's return ti the safehouse, rest up, and come back the next morning.

Everybody forgets Appario saving them from the cone of cold-trap and the lightning bolt-trap.. it's a thankless and unspectacular job, and people only remember when you fail!

I actually rolled the saves for that first trap before I remembered that Appario had +1 to perception against traps; Livia would have been dead, and Yahirma would have been at negatives :)

Maddok is a bull, which makes him beefy and Appario is most definatly a large ham.
Andrea is making HERSELF a sandwhich, we got a trout (lightly poached), yahirma is definatly spice and Xerath is a touch of vinegar.

Well, Livia got us: Pot MCPfE10', a scroll of MCPfE10' for us, and a Pot of Invisibility for me.

If I have time, I'd buy a headband o' hotness +2, but otherwise, happy go back quickly. The big issue for Appario was a bit of mind control protection (as Appario was dominated and doesn't want that again).

And some silk rope. Definitely more rope.
