Sorry guys/gals. Work has kept me pretty late. I finished up one game yesterday I was trying to push to clear up my schedule a bit, but it seems like I may not be able to post tonight. Still have so much to do. But, hopefully, I should be able to get this going tomorrow. Possibly a bit later.

Peribras sends another stone flying, but even with everything going in his favor, it hits a strong point in the dark warriors armor and bounces off harmlessly. Shar-lyn continues to bolster morale, while Thoril rushes down the stairs, slashing deep into the closest target, but not deep enough to put him down. Blood pools at his feet, however, and it will not take much more.
With blinding speed, that same thug drops his crossbow and it's almost as if not one, but two handaxes appear in his hands. He steps forward a bit and engages with the large Thoril while the other two send bolts flying at Nemesis and Tholand.

Old Shuck, trapped in the corner, lets his blades fly, cutting down the rather surprised thug right next to him, but finds himself in a rather odd perdicement. One that only grows worse as the Aspis's leader grips his longspear tight and suddenly grows in size instantly, stabbing at Thoril viciously, thrusting the end of the now much larger spear straight through Thoril's scaled gut.
Van Potter sends another magic missile flying, not terribly effective, but it's something, smashing into another of the thugs chest, and causing her to loose her breath for a moment, the wind knocked out of her from the sudden magical blow. Following it up, Nemesis tries to cloud their leader's mind with doubt and dread, but finds he has strong mental walls protecting his will.

Thoril heaves his heave blade above his head and brings it down hard as he steps closer, nearly cutting the leader in two. He tries to step back to heal himself, but Thoril is ready, taking his head off as he begins chanting. The other two Aspis agents, seeing things take such a turn for the worse so quickly, instantly drop their weapons and surrender, asking for mercy and leaving themselves open.
The Kobolds, standing near the Golden Guardian simply watch, unsure what to think or do. The Golden Guardian then speaks, "You remind me of another. I wasn't sure what to think until it was too late. But, I'll take you to him."
With the Kobold's help, you excavate a section of tunnel you hadn't seen before, and behind it, find a single body. There is nothing noteworthy about it, though a smashed Wayfinder in a breast pocket hints that it is the one you where sent to find before this whole thing escalated out of your control. And while the news that Venture-Captain Sharrowsmith has fallen is saddening, for all of those that fall in the line of duty to the society is just another failure for all, you take some comfort in the fact that you have managed to complete his last mission for him.
Afterwards, the Golden Guardian asks you to leave. It's clear that while you have earned his, and thus also the Kobold's respect, they fear that your presence may bring others looking to despoil this once sacred place. They help you as they are able, but it's clear that you have worn out your welcome, for now.
[I]With heavy hearts, you escort Sharrowmith's remains back to the nearest Pathfinder Society Lodge, into the care of his friend, and now successor, Nantambu, who had asked you to look into the matter in the first place. Nantambu will not be the same without my friend Nieford Sharrowsmith. "When he was younger, he traveled to all corners of the Mwangi Expanse and truly made the region his home, despite having been born hundreds of miles away in Avistan. He never truly lost his adventuring spirit, and as this lodge grew, he found his hours dedicated more and more to paperwork and less and less to exploring the lands’ rich history. I know his soul would take no offense at my saying
he died as he would have wished, . . . active, engaged, and in the field. I take solace in being able to provide him proper funerary rites."
“With his passing, Sharrowsmith’s Exports has no Venture-Captain, but I have corresponded with Nieford’s colleague Ambrus Valsin and agreed to act as the temporary manager of the lodge. After all, the full extent of the Pathfinders’ involvement in Nantambu has remained a something of an open secret, and it would be an embarrassment for anyone but a friend or family member to take command of the business so soon after the owner’s death.”
“I dearly appreciate what you have done for the Society, for your venture-captain, and for me. I will remember it.”
The End.
