Welcome to the game! I look forward to a fun campaign.
Some notes:
I will roll passive Perception checks for your characters when the situation calls for them. To speed things along in combat, I will roll initiative for everybody. Those whose initiative scores are higher than the enemies can post their actions, I'll summarize the results and the monster's actions, then everybody can post for the following round's actions.
I am usually online weekdays between 4:00 AM and noon, and can check in sporadically the rest of the afternoon. I can usually post a few times each day during the week, but my access is limited on the weekends.
The campaign info tab has a list of some of the other colonists aboard the Peregrine with you. In all, there are 50 other people eager to settle Talmandor's Bounty, among them full-time soldiers, eight farmers (some of whom belong to an extended family), eleven carpenters, and seventeen individuals with another general skills to be assigned as needed. In your six weeks aboard the Peregrine, you've had time to get to know some of them. Please select one of the notable ten NPCs with whom you have struck up a friendship or rivalry. I'll give you a little more information about your choice. If you are friends, you get a +1 bonus on Diplomacy checks against that individual. If you are rivals, you instead get a +1 bonus on Intimidate checks agaisnt them.
If you would like, you can also come up with your own NPCs to fill out the remainder of the colonists.

Simon attempts to board the boat with little fanfare as possible, looking over the other passengers briefly, attempting to give each a brief smile before heading over to the railing and setting his pack on the ground.
Unfortunately, the smile comes off as more of a snarl due to his half-orc facial structure, which causes many of the passengers to give him a wide berth during the voyage.
At dinner that evening, however, he speaks openly, showing a keen intellect as well as a good education. Some people are able to see past the outer appearances and talk to him openly, while others continue giving him a wide berth and sideways looks.
He tries not to take offense to these attitudes, but you can tell that it pains him whenever someone shuns him because of his heritage.
During the voyage, he spends most of his time discussing the history of Azlant and the recent archaeological discoveries about Azlant with Carver Hastings and Perrell Beys. Simon's first hand knowledge of some of these discoveries comes as quite a surprise to many.
| Kip Blacklake |
Kip has become a frequent companion of Lyra Heatherly and Victrix Bloodmane, often spending time swapping stories of adventure and expectations of prospects when the trip is complete.
Sorry for the delay, I'll get my first post up this evening for sure. Last night's Starfinder game ran long, and now we're heading out to tour the maternity section of our hospital.

The surveyor is something of a daredevil. With an upbeat and cocky attitude, she explains that half of her job is being familiar with her surroundings and knowing how to avoid trouble. Already, she and Perrell Beys have kindled a rivalry; both of them know how much their roles overlap.
Simon, you'll have to choose between Carver and Perrell for the bonus. :)

I would think Carver would be more interested in my stories, so I would have spent more time talking to him.

I'll wait for Kip to get a post in the gameplay thread before moving along.

This is likely my last post before I leave for gencon. Expect my posting to be spotty until late Sunday.

Yay! The Ruins of Azlant update for Hero Lab is available!

Note: After updating my profile, I realize that I am currently at Medium encumbrance.
Statblock has been updated to reflect this. In the future, if I need to do anything dextrous or strangth related, I will be taking my pack off first.

O_o
70 posts, grk!
*falls over from shock*
To brain fried to catch up on all of that. Could someone give me a very short synopsis of what happened and was found please?
| Victrix Bloodmane |
--Explored the abandoned settlement for a bit.
--Simon found a bunch of treasure in a cockroach-infested home. Bunch of coins and a Quick Runner's Shirt.
--I got the Quick Runner's Shirt from the treasure. Changed into it in the town hall.
--Found a clockwork spy that exploded when we captured it. Simon tried to disable it, but screwed up both times.
--Now we've gotten a clue as to what to do next--there's a plum tree in the settlement that we should investigate.

Cool, that sums it up nicely. Thank you.

Simon: "An alchemist can also add formulae to his book just like a wizard adds spells to his spellbook, using the same costs and time requirements. An alchemist can study a wizard’s spellbook to learn any formula that is equivalent to a spell the spellbook contains. A wizard, however, cannot learn spells from a formula book. An alchemist does not need to decipher arcane writings before copying them."

Thanks, wasn't sure if I was going to need a read magic or not.
"same cost and time requirements". That may hold me back for a bit. Definitely not until we camp for the first time..

Ah, so I don't have to decipher the spells, but I still need to make a Spellcraft check to understand them before copying.
So, since I didn't put ranks in Spellcraft, I am SOL until 2nd level. No problem.
Ellimendara can utilize the spellbook in the meantime.

I will be on a cruise next week for my birthday with no internet access. I won't be able to post from Monday August 28th through Friday September 1st. I'll try to catch up and get things back up to speed upon my return. :)
Have Fun!

Statblock updated with Mwk Chain Shirt.
Skill "Bonus" for dropping my pack is now only 2, due to the ACP of the armor.
