I think the PC's (at least the ones with ranks in spellcraft) probably know what the stone does; however as we seem to be likely to get more shards (and more ioun stones so we can control the associated emotion) and we can trade around stones when that occurs. Honestly, Harbug's build is to do touch spells (like Chill Touch) and later to use my patron spells to transform myself--INT will be important to be able to cast spells, but isn't going to be a game breaker until around level 9 or so.

Actually, Harbug, the stones can't be swapped. They become fused with the shards, so the stone goes with whoever benefits from the shard/or vice-versa.
As for skills the stone itself has the associated History skill (meaning whoever gets it gets HD in ranks of History)
In this instance though, I think the shards are the greater item/abilities. This shard specifically adss a +2 insight bonus to ALL skills. That's why it is pretty good for Angelica, being as her main function is skill checks.
It is equally useful to the two arcane casters for increasing DC's, adding a bonus spell, as well as giving a boost to skills. Between the two, I imagine Harbug's casting will be more self-buffs and attack spells, and DC's may not be as big a factor. In that case I see Shabbezz using it. But if he needs the Int to even get 5th level spells, he may need it or something like it in the future.

With a +2 on skills I think it is safe in your hands for now. You're our face and trapspotter, both roles benefit a great deal from that +2. A pure +int headband will serve the casters better, I'd say. But that's just my opinion! ;)

I think he wants to know if anyone is going to be making their rolls to go across. We discussed the order, but no one else has come across yet.

There's been a death in the family; posting is going to be sporadic at best for the next few days. If it's needed, here is Shabbezz's climb check.
Climb:: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
Climb +7; +8 racial bonus for having a natural climb speed of 20 feet.

I'm back. Thank you all for your condolences. While the deceased wasn't an immediate family member, we were close and it was unexpected, and the family needed to be together for a while. I truly appreciate being given some time off, and I'm ready to continue.

I'm at a convention for the weekend, I'll try to post but may be a little behind.
Harbug the Slasher |
I am going to be driving across the United States (West to East) starting on Thursday; I'll try to post as often as I can, but I can't guarantee I'll have both internet and time every day. I arrive in New York about 2 weeks later and will probably have consistent posting thereafter for a while.

Following after America's lead. I didn't need anything but the money in any case.
I can only assume it was a phone autocorrect
As soon as I saw it, I thought of the song from 'Team America World Police', except for what the name was supposed to be.
"Angelica! F**K yeah!
Here to save the mother f**kin day, yeah!"
Tialara |
Just a heads up to all, I am heading for a reunion this weekend and will not have access to the net. So I will not be posting from Thursday to Monday night. I will be back Tuesday.
Harbug the Slasher |
I've been running around New York looking for a place to live, so I've been slow at posting (I looked and didn't see anything needing immediate response, so Harbug has just been following) but I'm not dead! Just letting you all know. Hopefully we'll have an apartment in a few days and life will calm down a little bit; either way I'm still around when I can be.
Angelica Nenaviste |
I just remembered, as far as the archer using darkness to hide, all of us except Tialara have darkvision as well.

As Angelica would tell you "Oh, Tia darling, you are not a handicap. If it weren't for you and that there wand keeping Krass and Buggy upright, we would really be feeling the pain."
Shabbezz Whorlpad |
This whole genre is "kill things and take their stuff". We'd use stealth for like two rounds tops before someone got antsy and rushed to start combat. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Besides, you're the only one that has cure spells on their class spell list, and so doesn't need to invest a lot in UMD to use that wand. We'd be dragging half the party's corpses through the tower by now if you hadn't been able to put them back together. Take it from someone who usually plays healers--you're not a handicap, you're an asset.

Sorry, was on the red-eye from CA to Boston, then driving from there to NY (wife's parents live in Boston) with a carload of stuff. Updating now.
Harbug the Slasher |
Heading north to Canada through Sunday, I should be able to post every day, but it might be a little late/slow.

I'd like to know how readied actions work in the play-by-post system you're using. I'm assuming (and it seems likely) that since the ant didn't come the ready was unmet and thus "wasted"--that is, we reached the "players" turn again so it's my turn to declare another action (my crit! no! =p) Not a big deal, really, but for future reference. (Makes readying a little stranger, but not a problem.)

I hate to ask this, but can I change the feat 'Step Up' to something else? It is the kind of mechanic that doesn't work with the pbp system at all -_- if not, I understand, but I've experienced the feat to be a hassle.
Benefit: Whenever an adjacent foe attempts to take a 5-foot step away from you, you may also make a 5-foot step as an immediate action so long as you end up adjacent to the foe that triggered this ability. If you take this step, you cannot take a 5-foot step during your next turn. If you take an action to move during your next turn, subtract 5 feet from your total movement.

Update post:
-HP: 1d10 ⇒ 8+2con+1fav class -> +11
-3 skills (1 acrobatics, perception and intimidate)
-BAB increase from 2 to 3
-Reflex and Will go up by +1
-A feat (haven't decided yet)
-Fav class bonus -> hp
-Armor Training 1 (max dex bonus in armor goes up by 1, -1 ACP and can move 30f in medium armor)
That's pretty much what Krass 'gets'.
Angelica Nenaviste |
Rolling HP, 1d8 ⇒ 7 (+1 for FC)
BaB +1
Fort/Will +1
10 Skill pts (increase each one already trained except escape artist, and sleight of hand, using one on FC for HP and the other on swim)
Sneak attack +1d6
Trap sense +1
Feat, most likely two-wpn fighting
Do we 'heal' the new HP we get? As in, do both our max and current HP go up by the new amount?
Angelica Nenaviste |
Okay, I went with the feat Mother's Gift. She has been using her claws more, and she will begin to realize how dangerous she can be with them.
The feat gives her +1 atk/dmg with her claws. Next level I will use my rogue talent for combat feat and take Pirahna Strike, allowing me to power attack with light weapons.
The question is, when she qualifies for Improved Natural Attack, am I allowed to take it (since it's a monster feat)? She won't have the BaB for it until 6th, and can't take it until 7th.
Harbug the Slasher |
Krass--I think if you took Step Up as a fighter bonus feat (as opposed to a level feat) then you can switch it out at 4th level or so, regardless of GM say-so (unless he says paizo's fighter doesn't work that way for some reason).
Upon reaching 4th level, and every four levels thereafter (8th, 12th, and so on), a fighter can choose to learn a new bonus feat in place of a bonus feat he has already learned.
I'll level up in a while; were we all rolling HP for every level (I don't recall) or was there a ½ HD+1 option ala- PFS?
