Sorry that was so long. A lot going on, and in order to speed things up, I went ahead and rolled Saves and AoO' for people. If I missed something, please feel free to let me know. Or if you'd rather roll yourself, I'm cool with that. Also, on the map, I've started adding the fires that have been building. They are still pretty small, so not really a risk of damaging you, YET, but I just wanted to give a visualization on what's going on.
Ramesses |
did you include the resistances of jorah and savage, they are both Assimars. Ramesses, hearing the combat, puts an extra pep in his step and unleashes a huge pot of his new concoction. "Your bombs are nothin compared to mine!!!" he then kicks the pot over flowing like a waterfall catching multiple foes in the lava-like brew. A couple poor shmucks just outside have their skin melt right off their bones screaming only for a moment as it burns down their mouth.
Savage 1 |

"Bird. Message carried. Important," Rravn says in his monotone, odd voice.
If the bomber then falls, he'll turn his attention to the flames, trying to put them out once able to do so.
DM Beckett |
ROUND 2 <Bolded may act>
With an exceptionally well placed strike, Rravn cuts into the scum infront of him, calling upon his temporal mastery to alter time slightly as it happens, dragging out the pain that much more before he falls to t ground bleeding.
Storm Tooth attacks, but just can't seem to touch the bomber again, while Savage hurls another mini-fireball, again hitting his target in the chest, but it's just not enough to really do much.
Suddenly, strange liquid fire seems to seep through the roof, and just outside the door, you see a large torrent of it fall, hitting and clinging to some of the enemy's troops gathering outside for the next assault. Many of them run around scream, them within seconds disintegrate in front of your eyes, as if covered in both acid and fire, and leaving small puddles of viscous, flaming goo where they had just stood moments before.

Todric AoO: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Grabbing the rest of your gear, and quickly searching the bodies in the room, you find a set of 4 potions, 8 Alchemist's Fires, 3 Smoke Sticks, 2 Fuse Grenades, a Battering Ram, and a handful of Battle Axes and Daggers.
On the strange bird, you find a note quickly scrawled on a scrap of paper.
Retreating down the hidden staircase and blocking it the best you can, it leads down to a small room carved from the natural volcanic rock, and then to a tunnel that seems to have been cut through from free-flowing lava. As promised, Amara-Li has left direction to follow, small marking in chalk along the way, leading you what seems like half way across the island. Eventually you spot a bit of light coming ahead of you, as see the tunnel opens up to a larger area.
A sand-floored cave of igneous rock narrows to the north, offering access to a lava tube passage. Natural stone columns support a ceiling fifteen feet above, and the uneven walls irregularly bulge outward, creating small alcoves. To the south the cave rises in elevation, and the smell of seawater and a fresh breeze suggests the outside is close by.
As you walk closer into what appears to be some sort of ritual chamber, you first see a large lit fire in the back sending up an odd green smoke, likely the method of summoning aid mentioned earlier. Noticing you immediately, you also see a heavily armored man with a drawn katana standing, or rather gloating over the fallen Amara-Li and Iko Tsuneo, his enlarged body eager for another battle, and you can see various magical protections still active from his last battle, causing a slight haze as he moves. Both Amara-Li and tsuneo are still bleeding from multiple wounds but lay unmoving on the ground. Two other assassin stand close to their master.
Off to the side you see the slain bodies of Amara-Li's two servants, as well as a few other bodies, indicating the Venture-Captain and the Samurai put up a great fight. The standing warrior, turns to you and nods. This must be Shimazi.
It took you about 20 minutes to reach this point, so it's likely all your previous buffs have expired.

The, from behind the fray, suddenly there is a loud challenge, as the last calls on divine protection.
Ramesses: Move?
Jorah |
Jorah curses loudly in the celestial tongue as the assassin's axe hits him square in the chest. He retreats safely behind his comrades and chants a prayer to Desna. Seeing visions of the venture-captain dying, and mystified by his magic's ineffectiveness, Rravn rushes over to Amara-Li barely caring for the big bad guy's attacks. (eep, provoking an AoO first from the assassin, then the bbeg!)
Once Rravn gets over to Amara-Li (hopefully) he casts a stronger healing spell on her.

Rravn |
I did read it. That's why I made Rravn advance to Amari-Li. Or did I misunderstand something? Initially Rravn was just supposed to hit the assassin with a +10 bonus, but I figured the venture-captain is still in need of healing.
Edit: Oh, right, the assassin had his/her AoO already.
Editedit: And stabilize wouldn't have succeeded at all if the target is not a living creature, as per the spell description. My interpretation: stabilized, but is then unstabilized.

No I meant Savage. :) There is one other reason that Stabilize would not work, too. Nothing you did wrong. I just have not been able to update yet.

DM Beckett |
Falom forsakes her illusionary concealment to launch an arrow, catching the dark samurai in the flank just as Storm Tooth runs up to bite him. Surrounding the Tien warrior, you cut him down to a blood mess, and then finish off the two assassins with ease.
After a few moments, both Amara-Li, looking much better than before, and Iko Tsuneo, still heavily wounded, begin to move, then they stand. Iko bows to you in a deep sign of respect, while the Venture-Captian explains that Shimazi's blade had been poisoned, and both had fallen to it's effects, and had been left there helpless, and would have died had it not been for your timely arrival.
Iko Tsuneo again bows, "I am suitably impressed with your performance here. I was confident before, of your character, and thus that of this Pathfinder Society, but now, I am certain. The Way of the Kirin agrees to your proposed alliance.!"
Venture-Captain Amara-Li smiles, holding in the emotion welling up within her. "“Several years ago I arrived in Absalom as a nearly unknown figure who spoke of a nearly unknown land, and together we endeavored to bring the wonders of Tian Xia to the Pathfinder Society and in doing so draw the Society’s attention to our land. We brought the Decemvirate knowledge of the Hao Jin Tapestry, and it was we who guarded it against further intrusion when our enemies exploited gaps in the demiplane’s weave. With our efforts it is now one of the greatest treasures and tools of the Society. Were that not enough, we have now secured an alliance with an ancient and honorable organization. There is much honor in what we have done, and so much of it belongs to you for your years of service."
“I have a few last tasks to conclude before I return to Goka to lead an expanded lodge there—the Society’s new regional headquarters. While our accomplishments thus far are great, even greater work lies ahead for me, and I cannot split my attention between the whole of Tian Xia and interests in the Inner Sea. I shall always support you when you are in Tian Xia, but your oaths and obligations to me are now officially fulfilled. Do not think that you are being abandoned. If you wish to seek a new patron, you will receive a letter of introduction penned by my own hand. If you wish to continue to serve me, do so by working alongside your fellow Pathfinders and sending me news of your travels. For now, rejoice, for we are victorious!"
The End. . .
Rravn |
"How return? Absalom far. Teleport?" Rravn asks afterwards, "away here. Stupid place. Then celebrate."
Regardless of the methods of their return, Rravn keeps being weird and uncaring, sharing only odd tidbits of his persona when asked.
