I think Soractus is at 0? And Valarius, if you want to return, now is the time.
0/10 from lethal damage is unconscious, no?

DM Barcas |

Staggered.
Sorry, disabled.
A character with 0 hit points, or one who has negative hit points but has become stable and conscious, is disabled. A disabled character may take a single move action or standard action each round (but not both, nor can he take full-round actions, but he can still take swift, immediate, and free actions). He moves at half speed. Taking move actions doesn't risk further injury, but performing any standard action (or any other action the GM deems strenuous, including some free actions such as casting a Quicken Spell spell) deals 1 point of damage after the completion of the act. Unless the action increased the disabled character's hit points, he is now in negative hit points and dying.

With our numbers dropped to 3 plus two very intermittent postings, I think it might be time to recognize the inevitable. We put a lot of work and thought into this, but we are moving along at too slow of a pace. I blame myself mostly, but I try to offer a lot of interesting stuff to interact with. I have been getting back shorter and shorter posts lately. Short posts are fine for interaction with one another, but we aren't getting that either.
What do you guys think? Time to call it a day?

Simeon ex-Themostila |

I don't know... I really like the concept, I'd like to keep going; but you're right, the pace is slow.
I think the issue at the moment is there aren't that many cues - we're in the cavern, there's stuff we don't recognise; and it doesn't help that none of us made the Perception check to realise what's going on! It's just a bit open-ended and I'm not sure what we should be doing.
I think the posting rate goes up when things are happening - my worry would be if we were in the middle of combat and still only posting once a week. As it is, (speaking just for myself) I don't quite know what the options are for where we are right now and that makes posting more difficult.

Dryth ex-Themostila |

I enjoyed the concept too, but we are really limping along. Part of Iron Gods is that we're really lost at what we're seeing. Even our technologically advanced characters are baffled by the weird skeleton, the even more advanced robots, etc. And we're also under a certain time-pressure because we don't know how long it will take the rebels to discover the research team. So there's a motivation to interact less, and push forward more.
If the game ends, I'm happy to have tried it for the concept. Lots of games end on the boards and few are this interesting.

I'm good with staying on if you can recruit more players. As for clues, I think that we just sort of wander around until we have enough if the pieces to begin to form a coherent picture. I'm not dismayed at the clues nor really the pace all that much; it's the nature of PBP. What we need are players who will let regularly.
But if you should decide to call it, I will understand and say thank you!

Soractus Ex-Alkaeus |

I'll simply apologize for my inactivity; got slammed by a surprise change to travel rules for work that have meant that I've been commuting 5-7 hours a day plus work. In theory, the light at the end of the tunnel comes after the holiday weekend... In theory.

DM Barcas |

If we keep moving, I'd like some lengthier posts. Tell me why your character feels a certain way and what they are thinking. Tell me about how past experiences informs the present. Describe the combat viscerally. Drop a paragraph even when a sentence would do. This game has a great concept - and I'm looking forward to revealing some hinted-at truths.

Valarius ex-Epaphras |

My apologies as well, as I have been the worst posting offender. I will get back to the more in depth posting, though my question is how far are you okay with us creating on the fly in those posts (regarding backstory and world details)?

Dryth ex-Themostila |

I'm away for the weekend. Expect limited posting until Tuesday.

I have given this game some thought while y'all were away from Gen Con. I had a really good time and think that there was a great story to tell, but I think it is time to call the game. Best of luck to you guys. This was a very unique and ambitious story, and I want to thank you for taking part in it.
If you want to know the overall plot I had planned, read on:
Basically, everyone's a Cylon.

Really sorry to hear that, I had a great time and you really made me think about my character - both in the creation and in the playing.
Thanks for DM'ing it; I now run a couple of games on these boards and I know how much effort it takes. Much appreciated.
Thanks too for 'lifting the curtain' a bit and showing us how it ends - really ambitious and intriguing ideas! I'm sorry we won't get to play it through now.
