What makes the loss of your chef and two cooks and a server worse? Having to have two more employees (one host, one server) removed in handcuffs for larceny. Yup, its been a grand last month. But now the house has been cleaned, and we are running lean and tight with a positively motivated staff. Posting will now return to regularly scheduled volume. My appreciation for everyone that has put up with my absence over the last couple weeks.

Really excited to keep this game going!

That sounds tough.

Did your employees have any particular theft scheme? I worked some interesting employee theft cases in my first year as a detective - some of which were more sophisticated than others.

male Human Magus 2 (bladehound, hexcrafter) || HP 19/19, AC 17/13/14 || Ft +5, Rf +3, Wl +5 || Init +3 || Perception +8

It was a really bright plan... take cash out of the communal register and stick it in their aprons... right underneath the night vision camera. Sometimes they would hunch over so you couldn't clearly see it go into their aprons, but more often then not they just blatantly took it. Impressively bright, right?

Male Human Impossible Sorcerer 2 [HP: 14/14 | AC 12/12/10 | F+2 R+2 W+4 | Init +2 Perc +2 SM +1]

Glad to have you back, Valarius! Is Archelaos still with us? Been a while since we heard from him too.

Hey guys,

I’m very sorry to say that, due to real life issues, I’ve found myself unable to follow PbPs over the last month or so, and I foresee that the current situation will last until June if not for the whole 2015.
I apologize to my GMs and fellow players, I had a lot of fun in the last 2 years playing on these boards; I hope not to disrupt the narrative of the great stories you’re trying to tell.

Goodbye everyone!

Male Human Impossible Sorcerer 2 [HP: 14/14 | AC 12/12/10 | F+2 R+2 W+4 | Init +2 Perc +2 SM +1]

Best of luck, Airon. We all know how things can get.

Thanks for letting me know. I know how life gets in the way. Best of luck!

I might be a little sparse for the next forty-eight hours. I have a murder trial starting tomorrow and I expect to be testifying for a significant amount of time over the next two days. Hopefully everyone (except the now-departed Archelaos, who will serve as an NPC and a guide to Torch) will put up their combat post by then.

Add another day to my testimony hiatus.

My suspect has been convicted of murder. Took a little longer than expected, but I will resume posting today.

Male Human Impossible Sorcerer 2 [HP: 14/14 | AC 12/12/10 | F+2 R+2 W+4 | Init +2 Perc +2 SM +1]

Combat resolves in initiative order no matter the posting order, right? I ask because I assume Dryth will have far fewer targets when it gets to him. Plus, some of those watcher attacks might not even go off.

I suppose I can just write in contingencies.

I am not najeung guarantees that won't post sooner, but odds are i will be too drunk to post until about 48 hours from now.

Right. It resolves in the order of posting. I just included the extra damage because it wasn't fair to you guys that Archelaos left.

Artemios - did you perform a action? I need the combat header to figure out what happened.

Male Half-Elf Investigator (Steel Hound/Infiltrator) 1 | HP 10/10,- AC 17/T: 14/FF:13 - Perception +7 - F: +2/ R: +6 / W: +3 - CMB: +1 - CMD: 15 Speed: 30, Init. +6

Bender over. Posting normalcy resumes.

Finish him!

Do you guys want to play out the attacks, or simply end the combat with him in custody? If I don't hear otherwise by late tonight, I'll move us ahead to the interrogation.

Male Half-Elf Investigator (Steel Hound/Infiltrator) 1 | HP 10/10,- AC 17/T: 14/FF:13 - Perception +7 - F: +2/ R: +6 / W: +3 - CMB: +1 - CMD: 15 Speed: 30, Init. +6

I was mainly waiting to see how the bottom of the initiative worked out, as I don't think I can do enough damage with one hit from a Sap to bring him down this round on my own.

I'm fine either way.

Again - I'm fine with Initiative in whatever order is posted.

Right. And I'm thinking strategically, what with having the nonlethal weapon in hand, it's better if I wait and let somebody else plink him down. :P

The fact that my turn in Initiative nominally comes after the people I'm waiting on anyway is just an interesting coincidence.

Male Human Impossible Sorcerer 2 [HP: 14/14 | AC 12/12/10 | F+2 R+2 W+4 | Init +2 Perc +2 SM +1]

I'm fine with moving to him in custody.

What do you guys want to do? I don't have any NPCs to prod things along, so it's up to you to make the decision.

male Human Magus 2 (bladehound, hexcrafter) || HP 19/19, AC 17/13/14 || Ft +5, Rf +3, Wl +5 || Init +3 || Perception +8

What?! The dead guys can totally prod us along...

My apologies, post imminent.

I was a paragraph onto the next post when I realized that I'm not sure if you decided where to go. Am I correct that you want to go back to the autocarriage? If so, what next? Drive straight to the destination, damn the torpedoes?

Tap, tap, tap... This thing on?

Nah! Artemios is the stubborn one, not me! Personally, I'd be standing with Simeon!

Post up soon. The full moon and this Baltimore unrest is keeping my hands full.

Are you a police officer?

...or a werewolf?

People go nuts when it's full moon. No idea why, but it's well documented - statistically, arrests are higher and so on. I used to work nights as a volunteer and full moon weekends were the worst.

My sympathies to the DM.

Yep. I was a homicide detective, but I promoted and returned to the streets as a patrol sergeant. My district has about 100,000 citizens (with an influx of revelers to the bars on weekends), and I have between 4 and 10 officers a night to keep them safe. People have been wanting to fight us more in the last few days, but 5 vs 1 makes them rethink that and surrender peacefully.

Well, God bless you for doing the hard work, and be careful.

I'm leaving on Friday for a week-long vacation without much Internet access. Feel free to talk among yourselves while I am gone. Otherwise, I'll be back next Friday or Saturday to move along.

I'm back! Let's get a-movin' into the bowels of this situation!

Are we ready to make the entry?

I've reached out to Valarius and Soractus, asking if they intend to return. I haven't heard back from Valarius, but Soractus says he will be back in this weekend. Assuming Valarius doesn't return, do you want to proceed with four or move to find two more players? (It could be new players for Archelaos or Valarius, or two new characters entirely.)

Male Human Alchemist (Chirurgeon) 2 AC 15 [T 15 FF 10] | CMB +2 | CMD 17 | HP 17/17 | Fort +4 | Ref +8 | Will +1 | Init +5 | Percep +6

Ready!

Keeping the current 4 works for me, but I'm open to re-recruiting if we decide that's preferable.

Male Human Impossible Sorcerer 2 [HP: 14/14 | AC 12/12/10 | F+2 R+2 W+4 | Init +2 Perc +2 SM +1]

I'm ready.

Yeah, i can do 4 if you think it's viable. Should be faster, but also new blood could get more energy. And I would think new players would want their own new characters.

Male Human Gunslinger (Pistolero) 2 - HP 22/22,- AC 17/T: 14/FF:13 - Perception +8 - F: +6/ R: +8 / W: +3 - CMB: +3 - CMD: 18 Speed: 30, Init. +5

Ready. Fine with 4.

Two points of order: first, make sure you include your combat header, including end-of-round stats; second, Androffan is a mysterious language pieced together from various artifacts found on the island. Its name and origin is unknown. Any knowledge of it will be a little untested.

Male Human Impossible Sorcerer 2 [HP: 14/14 | AC 12/12/10 | F+2 R+2 W+4 | Init +2 Perc +2 SM +1]

Drat, I forgot about the combat header.

As for Androffan, I suppose I should have asked before taking it as a language. Is that ok? Artemois gets it from his trait, but I just picked it up for Dryth as a normal language. I thought it might be suitable as a to know as a machine language.

It is fine, but he wouldn't be fluent and shouldn't know what it is called - perhaps he might want to question why he seems to have a stronger grasp and a name for it...

Male Human Impossible Sorcerer 2 [HP: 14/14 | AC 12/12/10 | F+2 R+2 W+4 | Init +2 Perc +2 SM +1]

Let's just forget that Dryth mentioned thename. Even if he had some mysterious understanding of the language, he probably shouldn't know the name.

He shouldn't, and yet he does... Mysterious...

male Human Magus 2 (bladehound, hexcrafter) || HP 19/19, AC 17/13/14 || Ft +5, Rf +3, Wl +5 || Init +3 || Perception +8

From the shadows... he returns.

My apologies all for my extended absence. Been dealing with a lot of issues at work. Things SEEM to have calmed down now.

I do know that the information is in the character line, but I don't like to rely on that for two reasons. First, I don't know for sure if it has been updated to reflect current conditions. Second, if I need to go back a few rounds to check something or make sure the math is correct, the combat header helps me do so.

Re: Valarius, after this combat, we will have him swing back in. Shouldn't be too hard to explain if we say that he and Khonnir changed their minds about where he is most useful.

Coup de grace! Coup de grace! 4x damage should be pretty significant.

Someone going to CDG it? It is helpless until it wakes, so you're essentially out of Initiative.

CDG is a full round action, or I would!

Out of curiosity, Simeon, does your revolver really do 5d8 (instead of 4d8) on a coup de grace?
