At your word, Lady Tapestry.

Tapestry puts on a puzzled look,

'I think that's what father was asking for, Master Weststone,' she replies, 'but he wasn't very clear... Maybe you should just dip him in a little at a time... in case he changes his mind... He's obviously got no more words of wisdom he wants to share with us...'

"What kind of life do you offer me? I...could set the kids free if you are willing to let me get free?" he was clearly afraid of her and everyone else as he was making this bargin. "I won't cause anymore problems, I promise."

Curnach:

You can tell he appears to be visably sweating when making this promise of not causing anymore problems.

'Oh dear, father,' Tapestry wrinkles her nose at the grusome sight in the hatbox, 'how very disappointing... and Master Weststone has declared our time here finished as well...' she leans her lips close to Lamm's ear and adds with a whisper, '... and you know how stubborn these dwarves can be...'

Leaning back again, hand still stroking the old man's hair, a somewhat sombre smile on her face, Tapestry continues,

'It seems it's time for you to make a choice, father. I'm of a mind to look after you personally, for the rest of your days... wouldn't that be fun? We could play all those games you taught me... and a few more I've dreamt up in the meantime! You know what a devoted daughter I am, father - I'd make sure that you were the only thing to get my attention, the very centre of my life... like it used to be, like the old days. I'd make sure you lived a very long, very interesting life, father - you'd never have a dull moment, I'm sure of that. And when the day finally came that you'd breathed your last, I could hand your immortal soul over to some long lost relatives of mine, so you could keep playing forever... Doesn't that sound nice? But... and here's the choice... but young Master Curnach is of a greener faith it seems... he'd prefer you to rejoin the cycle of nature by feeding yourself to his new shark friend... Apparantly there's a chance that would allow your soul to reincarnate with a clean slate, a new start... All you'd have to do is let the shark eat you... But I don't want you to take that quick path, father, I want you to choose me - I promise that nothing will be quick, and you'll have a long, long, time to spend recalling all the children you've helped over the years... and a longer time in eternity when it finally comes...'

She waits a few moments for the full implication of her words to sink in, then asks,...

Old man Lamm had spent the majority of his years putting kids in fear and doing what he wanted with them. His greatest companion Gobblegut was dead and from what they had been saying, they hadn't freed the kids, meaning that his friends were still alive and he smirked at this revelation.

"Go to hell." he laughed at her, convinced that his days were numbered and he was going to die now, however he felt his companions would avenge his death. "I welcome death. It will put me with the gods so I can watch as you all die a horrible, painful death!" he sneered, these being the clear signs that he gave up hope and knew he would die.

'How,' Tapestry muses out loud, 'does a stolen broach give you "leverage" to get out of jail? Surely being found to be in possession of such a thing would get one in deeper trouble... Unless there's more of a story to it than that... Oh, do tell, father - you know how I love a good bedtime story...'
I would imagine he wouldn't have it on his person if he was jailed... Curnach muses

Gaedren gaves a evil smirk as Curnach says this:

"Learnt well from me afterall, boy. Yes, that was the plan. One of the boy's stole it off a servant who, I assume, was looking for someone to fix it."

'Oh!' Tapestry exclaims, 'Oh, I do hope it's a nice bonnet! I'd hate for it to be a severed head or anything...'

He visably shakes at this suggestion. He was very scared of you and trapped, wishing he could get out of this.

Cradling Lamm's head in her lap, stroking what's left of his hair, Tapestry addresses him in a kind tone... which somehow manages to come across as sinister...

'There, there, father,' she coos, 'that can't be your treasure, can it? Surely a man who's worked as hard as you for so many long, long, years must have more to his name than those few trinkets? Owning just that... that would be such a sad failure... such a waste of a life... No, you must have more, father - if not wealth, then power: you must have power. The few children upstairs, they can't be all you've got working for you now, all your little Lamms? You're a mighty crime lord, father, feared throughout the streets and beyond... aren't you? I mean, surely your life hasn't amounted to hiding in a squalid basement whilst younger, more virile, men take their pick of what little wealth you've managed to claim as your own over the course of your life? Please tell me that's not what you've amounted to in your twilight years, father dearest...'

Psychological torture is so much more effective than physical torture... ;)

Anyway, she's trying to Bluff the old man into spilling anything important - like where he keeps any other children, any bigger plans he's a part of... that sort of thing.

Bluff: 1d20 + 7

He stares at you in deep fear, shaking his head.

"Th-that's all I have, I swear. All that's left is a a desk upstairs with chump change. These items I kept myself, the broach was meant to be returned by me to get some leverage if I ever got arrested so she'd let me out." he's clearly very frightened of you having returned like this and acting this way. He seemed to always have feared you as you appear insane to him and acting this way just furthers his fear. "All I have left of any value, if what's in the old hatbox ontop of the dresser."

Anyone mind if I take the magic stuff as I'll be training Spellcraft next level so can identify them?

"Get your filthy paws off me treasure! It's mine and no one else's!" he appears to start stuggling against his bonds.

Curnach:

a narrow teak cigar case inlaid with tiny bits of jade Worth 25gp
a 2-pound gold ingot bearing the Cheliax coat of arms Worth 100gp
a miniature gold crown Worth 350gp
a fist-sized scrimshaw carving of a kraken with garnets for eyes 200gp
a silver ring bearing the inscription “For Emmah—the light in my nights,” 150gp
a highly realistic and highly scandalous ivory figurine of two entwined succubi 450gp
a masterwork shuriken 300gp 20sp
an adamantine arrowhead 60gp 5sp
an abalone-shell holy symbol of Shelyn 300gp
a crystalline vial containing a dose of strange silvery liquid the vial itself is worth 50gp and you notice the liquid is a common underground drug known as silversheen which is popular underground and people take it due to the dream like state it puts people under but at the same time causes damage to the brain. You could possibly either hand this into the guard or sell it on the streets yourself for a good profit.
a bejeweled brooch with a broken clasp woth a depiction of a psedodragon and a Imp coiled around each other in a almost ying-yang pattern. Worth 1000gp and it appears to be something of royalty. In fact, you realise that this brooch is actually owned by the queen of Korvosa

Krenn shrugs. I was just hoping one of us had a personal connection to a place that could take them on. 'Sides, there's nothing wrong with a brothel. Just people trying to make a living like every where else.

While... it seems that these kids indeed are in need of something else. I will be trying to speak with some of the monks here in Korvosa.. Although my master never really was with any monastery and due to his background in bad relationships... he at least had contact time to time and I met some of them. I could ask for the place there. It is not easy... lifestyle and they have their own doctorines, but surely, it is better than being here.

After that Avanti will turn his attention back to box and when Lamm is waking up, Avanti will use the key and see if it opens.

You search through a few of the keys and after a few misses you succeed with the right key and it opens.

Lamm lers at the monk as he uses his own keys to open his lockbox infront of him and struggles against his ropes.
"All that's mine! Them's mine and you can't have any of it!"

If looking inside at what there is:

Looking in the box you see many treasures. Some worth a little whilst others appear to be very valuable. You find:
a narrow teak cigar case inlaid with tiny bits of jade
a 2-pound gold ingot bearing the Cheliax coat of arms
a miniature gold crown
a fist-sized scrimshaw carving of a kraken with garnets for eyes
a silver ring bearing the inscription “For Emmah—the light in my nights,”
a highly realistic and highly scandalous ivory figurine of two entwined succubi
a masterwork shuriken
an adamantine arrowhead
an abalone-shell holy symbol of Shelyn
a tiny glass tube containing a strange oil
an obsidian wand
a crystalline vial containing a dose of strange silvery liquid
a bejeweled brooch with a broken clasp woth a depiction of a psedodragon and a Imp coiled around each other in a almost ying-yang pattern.

Appraisal check to identify the price of these objects. Only one check rarther than having you all do somehting like 20 checks.

When looking at the brooch:

Knowledge Nobility & Royalty DC 15:
You recognise this to be a possession of Queen Ileosa, Queen of Korvosa and married to the ageing king, Eodred II.

You hear him groan loudly as he slowly starts to open his eyes. He first looked into Tapestry's eyes and gives out another pained groan.
"Ah...so I'm in the netherworld, or is this heaven?" he pulls at his restraints and as his eyes adjust to the world around him he curses under his breath. "No...I'm still alive. I guess you all realised I'm your true father. I created you afterall." he smirks, still willing to be insulting until he sees what happened to Gobblegut and his eyes narrow at Krenn.

"So, my little lamms have returned to kill me?...

'Kill you, father?' Tapestry asks, arching an eyebrow, 'Surely time has almost done that deed without our help... I'm sure death (especially a quick one) would be a pleasant relief for you right now...'

Quote:
"Kill them and I will hire you back if you of course come back to my room and remember your place."

'Oh father,' she smiles at him, with all the sweetness of a predatory cat, 'I'd love nothing more than to join you in private to renew our relationship... but killing these gentlemen would be so terribly rude... not to mention bad for business...'

Stepping to within fifteen feet of the man she called father, Tapestry lashes out with her whip...

Attempt to disarm, with Guidance (still got one running I think) and Weapon Finesse:1d20 + 6

He gets to go before you in Round actions, was waiting to see if that was all Krenn was going to do. Croc does nothing so now it's the new Round.

Round 2

Not bothering to listen to anyone, Lamm aims his hand crossbow at the croc, firing at it and the arrow manages to just hit Gobblegut, making him angry and start to thrash about angrily looking for anyone close enough to attack

Order:

Gaedren Lamm (just had his action)
Tapestry
Aventi D'Gaudon
Althon Skyven
Curnach Daveck
Krenn Whetstone
Gobblegut

Since you took the action, the whip succeeds and slaps the handcrossbow out of his hand, landing into the water and he curses out loud leering at her, truely pissed off.
"I run this operation, me! No stupid little, half-breed woman is going to take my business away." he defensivly holds onto his keys hanging from his waist.

Krenn Weststone wrote:

That is right, I'm here for the dwarven lad. Where is he?

Krenn's eyes shift from Tapestry to the croc. A little uncertain why she called a halt to combat, but willing to extend some trust since they've gotten him this far...

His shield and axe are ready, and he is angling for an open attack route to the croc.

The willsave succeeded. I'm sure Tapestry would point out her spell failed.

He grins darkly at the dwarf.
"He's cleaning the floor. Kill your companions and I'll hand him over to you. Same goes for you my little exotice treat." he looks over at Tapestry "Kill them and I will hire you back if you of course come back to my room and remember your place."

He appears visably shaken by Althon and even more pale than before. The flame from Curnach's attack hurts him badly and he gasps at the burnt mark on his chest.

Is that all Krenn does this round? Plus to attack the croc you would have to jump down there to take it on head on. For the moment it isn't too interested.

Not quite made the map with maptools yet, but this is basically the area. The bottom left is a room you havn't investigated, but I'm not going to bother covering it up as this battle seems like it won't last very long.

MAP

Will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

He shrugs off the spell as if it were nothing and leers at Tapesty at the others.
"So, my little lamms have returned to kill me? You ungrateful little bastards, I should've fed you to Gobblegut when your snot-nosed little faces arrived into my hands like so many of the kids have recently." seeing the dwarf he doesn't recognise him and then curses loudly "You're here for the dwarf child aren't you?! I knew I should've throw him to Gobblegut when I had the chance!"

[ooc]He'll be all the way to the left, not far from the window as that's where he was. The big area of water you see now in the centre of the room you see his pet Crocadile just keeping his eyes on everyone. He doesn't appear to be paying much attention to you all.
