Stealing post #2000, are we?
Good luck!
Male Human (Ijo) Monk 4 (Zen Archer)
Good Luck.
I am back just in time for the lull. But, yeah, N'bellocq would have followed Tebati's lead, especially in the face of so strong a magical attack, which has definitely seemed to rattle him.
And oh yeah, a very good level for a Zen Archer.
+1 BAB

Indeed - Good luck AK!
I remember exams... miss then even ;)
Ugh. I still have that recurring nightmare where I've forgotten to go to class all semester but still have to take the final. :P
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
I actually one forgot about a final.
That was not my finest hour.....
Good luck AK
How do you want to run getting Horse with no name? Buy from freehold? Vision quest? Mail-order? I think the gnome has a kit somewhere......

:P
... that's pretty much what I do. Combined with doing all of my revision literally the night before the exam, turning up without sleep.
I don't deserve the marks I get :P.
As for Horse with No Name... If your happy to wait until the caravan has left Freehold I can tie it in?
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
Waiting for HwNM is not a problem.
Re: Night before. I knew folks who could do that when I was in collage. Us poor mortals all hated them with the fire of a thousand envious suns. ;7)

Sounds like me with some of the more boring courses in my Master of Library Science program.

Male Human (Ijo) Monk 4 (Zen Archer)
Yeah. I missed a physics final back in the day.
I had a stupid neighbor who asked me everyday for two weeks when the Tues-Thur 2PM exam was. I had my physics class at this same time, but a special exam time was set up for all Physics 201 classes to get tested at the same time....three hours earlier than what would have been the normally scheduled exam time. Well, that repetition got into my brain....
On my way to take the final, I saw the dumbest guy in my class heading away from campus. When I asked him why he was leaving, he said he was the last one to finish. I ran to the exam site and found it empty and dark. I freaked out (quite visibly and audibly) until an nice old man walked into the room to see if everything was ok. Embarrassed, I excused myself and went off to figure out what to do. My Prof was locked away with the other Profs doing the grading, so I ended up going to the Physics department. The secretary said I should wait to talk to the chair of the department. Well, in walks the nice old man from earlier. I give him my story about the confusion over the time, and he said I DID seem genuinely upset. He arranged for me to take a make up. If he hadn't seen my performance and instead I had just showed up at his office, he said he would have just flunked me.
I chalk it up as a lesson not hang around idiots too much....and be nice to old people.

Sounds like me with some of the more boring courses in my Master of Library Science program. Hey a fellow MLIS.
I a only a class or two short of the degree, how are you doing?
Well, I graduated with my MLS back in December of 2011. Considering a career change, or at least more education (law school, seminary, something like that), so take that as you will. Is there any particular area of librarianship you want to specialize in? (Reference, cataloging, etc.)
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
Dream would be public librarianship but I am well aware of the limited job market. I'll take what I can get. Worst case I stay with the office job I have.

My Engineering exams had the happy tendency to get easier as time went on... as in, either you knew the subject and breezed through it... or you didn't and there was no point blankly staring at a piece of paper for two hours imagining that you can spontaneously figure out how to derive Van der Waals equation of state from first principles.
I only tanked one exam... I mean full on failed it bigtime. Though since they were redesigning the course and I was actually taking the course before any of it's pre-reqs they gave me a sneaky pass. I got a resit... where they gave me exactly the same paper - after being allowed to take the exam out with me. Hence the happy 50 flat score on my transcript that semester ;)

I actually work at a public library now, although personally I want to work at an academic library or a special library. I used to work as a circulation assistant at a law school's law library when I was in grad school and I really liked it, but unfortunately to be a law librarian at most public law schools requires a JD as well as an MLS/MLIS. Emory University's law library interviewed me for a law librarian position last summer (since it's a private university, they didn't care about the JD in the position I was applying for), but sadly I didn't get that one.

Ansha - nice :) A pretty decent job at capturing his essence, perhaps a bit more definition in his muscles but otherwise looks good.

Qhude wrote: Ansha - nice :) A pretty decent job at capturing his essence, perhaps a bit more definition in his muscles but otherwise looks good. Thanks! I updated him a bit (same link and URL should display the new version) with hopefully what looks like more muscle definition, and I'm slowly working on a sketch of Tebati. I think for now I will probably just leave them as lineart--I'm usually more pleased with my lineart than my illustrations anyway.

Sorry it was a really, really long week for me. Updated now and when people are ready, we can start to move towards the ancient ruin in the Laughing Jungle...
DM AK wrote: N'bellocq, were you planning to enchant clothing as armour? I'd rather stick to bracers of armour if possible as RAW is murky on it (murky enough that i'm happy to discuss this in OOC if people desire). So does that mean that enchanting things in manners not usually consistent with their slot is out? (For example, a necklace that gives INT/WIS/CHA boosts.) I had had the idea of enchanting Ansha's bonded item with all sorts of things entirely for aesthetic reasons, even with the additional price involved.
Your Humble Narrator
I'm not especially keen on it... It allows for some pretty unpredictable situations; for example if N'bellocq can enchant his vest, that frees up a Bracers of Archery that would normally be considered an opportunity cost...
On the other hand, doesn't it cost like, +50% or +100% of the usual price if you enchant off-slot? That's not even counting the multiple-enchantment costs, which are inevitable for Ansha's choker...assuming that there were multiple properties worth stacking onto a neck-slot item in my limited view of worthwhile properties, anyway.
That's probably a good part of why I like the idea of off-slot enchantments. I don't really find amulets of natural armor all that appealing as enhancements, but I do find a lot of the headband and circlet slot properties interesting (circlet of persuasion and headband of mental prowess/superiority, for example.)
*kicks forum for want of posts*
Male Human (Ijo) Monk 4 (Zen Archer)
N'bellocq's vest will just be stylish, but the quiver, boots, and bracers (good call) will be held onto for future enchantments if that becomes possible.
So...at this point, are we waiting on people's montage posts, or for AK to move us past Freehold?
Male Human (Mwangi - Bas'o tribe) Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist archetype) 4
Qhude is montaged out and ready to roll.
Your Humble Narrator
I don't necessarily need posts, was just enforcing the downtime to level. I have a crazy busy weekend until Sunday so I was content to let people post anything they want to do in Freehold before then.
Male Human
I will probably have a montage post up by Sunday unless real life chooses to intervene somehow. Other than that, Kieran will be selling his masterwork hand crossbow and bolts and buying a pair of wrist sheaths, as well as a pair of daggers to go with them. Plus he will buy a pickpocket's outfit to have as his main set of clothes, or modify his current attire if that is possible.
Thinking of buying and selling, are there any wiz/sorc scrolls other than the Scroll of Chill Touch listed on the Campaign Info tab available in Freehold? Or scrolls to steal from the Macini estate that Ansha would be aware of? ;P
Your Humble Narrator
The base value of Freehold is pretty high (1,300GP). There is a 75% chance any item under that value will be available for purchase and anything costing 130GP or less can be acquired without checking for availability.
Ansha is on the lookout for a scroll of Fox's Cunning and Eagle's Splendor. If one or the other of those aren't available, she's also looking for scrolls of Acid Arrow and Invisibility. I'm assuming you make the rolls for these?
Your Humble Narrator
I'm indifferent as to who makes the rolls.
Fox: 1d100 ⇒ 32
Eagle: 1d100 ⇒ 42
Acid Arrow: 1d100 ⇒ 35
Invisibility (unavailable): 1d100 ⇒ 86
Don't have quite enough to cover the 80gp in inks plus the two scrolls, so Ansha is selling the 30gp silver necklace that her drunken merchant "friend" gave her to cover the difference.
Male Human
Heh... Interesting. Those are Greek letters. ;-)
They are indeed! ;) I took a number of Classical Greek classes in my undergraduate, and taught myself New Testament Greek on the side, to boot. Don't ask me to do much more than mangle modern Greek, though.
You know, having just finished Book 3 of Kingmaker in my tabletop group, I have to say I'm actually rather looking forward to the kingdom-building aspects of our Saga.
You people are too quiet! Someone say something! :<
Male Human
Something... :-P
Sorry, I have been a bit busy with work the last couple of days or three, but it should let up a bit starting tomorrow.
Sketch of Tebati.
And not what I was hoping for, Castor. ;P
Your Humble Narrator
I have a rather long post to make soon and some preparation for it i've been stalling, sorry. Will get to it asap
Your Humble Narrator
Making said post today now i'm caught up everywhere :). Sorry again all, I had to do some more preparation on a rather large map.
You know, every time someone says Unwe's name, Ansha probably has to force herself not to react. Sounds waaaay too close to Anwë, and the only people who'd know that name are people who'd probably try to kill her.
Tebati makes a note to talk to Unwe a lot. ;)
The sketch of Tebati looks a little tall and slender. She's a runner, so should probably be a bit more compact and Flo Jo to set up the necessary contrast with the willowy Ansha.
What's Arturus's ethnicity, AK?
I'll have to see if I can't broaden her a bit--the robes should probably billow a bit more, regardless.
Your Humble Narrator
He looks Taldane.
Ansha re: PM I think the ship has sailed at this point.
Yeah, I figured it might be too much effort to try to do in flextime.
Your Humble Narrator
Your WBL will reach 3rd level pretty rapidly I can assure you :).
I just like reinforcing Ansha's Chaotic and Not-Good credentials ;P (Is she Evil yet?)
Female Human (Bonuwat) Cleric 4
Neglected to update Tebati's profile for 3rd level. It's done now.
