Merry Christmas and happy holidays lads and lasses! :-)
And as far as Kieran is concerned, nope, still unconscious and sitting comfortably at -2 hit points after that last bit of healing from his lady fair.
Not to rush the DM, but I believe we're back to the top of the round and Jakob - Tebati - N'bellocq before the dinosaur acts again. Might as well get our actions out of the way, if PWO and Meowzebub are around, so he has something to do when he returns other than post the initiative order.
Your Humble Narrator
If they are happy to do so without a map update please go ahead. Sorry for the delays.
Male Human (Mwangi - Bas'o tribe) Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist archetype) 4
Ouch... though happy to not yet be deceased... at least not yet :)
OK, will post up some arrow shots soon. Wish me luck. And Happy New Year everyone!
Be sure and step back after you shoot! You don't want to end up in melee if the ankylosaurus moves forward.
Male Human (Ijo) Monk 4 (Zen Archer)
Difficult terrain, so I can't step back, and can't move far enough that it won't get me....I figure hit with two shots and pray that is enough, rather than one and run.
I don't know what an ankylosaurus's base speed is, but I believe he's hampered by difficult terrain too and by the net unless he breaks free. We can hope he can't move into range and attack this round. When Tebati was caltopped and entangled by the Bandu, she could barely move with 50 ft base speed.
Your Humble Narrator
Good memories, trying my best to gank the cleric ;).
Posting now! Lets get things back on the go :)
Jakob wrote: What language are you using for Sylvan? Well, there was a language translator for a bunch of D&D languages that I linked a few pages ago in this OOC thread, but I tried to access it a day or two ago and the site no longer exists. So...I just threw together gibberish that had lots of sibilant sounds in it.

Apologies for the absenteeism, holiday evenings are basically consisting of me welded to the couch with an eight month old on my chest and I've not been able to wrangle posting time until late at night (generally past midnight). Normal service will resume in three-ish days once I'm back at home base.

Joana wrote: Jakob Mulle wrote: Oh for the want of a grease spell. That spell has a thousand and one household uses. At 1 minute per level, it would take a lot of castings to get out of the jungle. Well it is not a perfect plan, and the spell is item only which might preclude casting it on the shell in any case. I wonder if a corpse is an item.....hmmmmm
Ansha has a scroll or two...
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
At 1 min per level it is not worth the outlay. Pity because the visual of all of us riding the upturned body back to town would be a propaganda coup.
How much does an ankylosaurus weigh? Because if spellcasting were no object, I think it'd be much more impressive for an enlarged and ant hauled Qhude to drag it into the marketplace by the tail, right through their garden and over the "Don't pick the flowers" sign. ;)
That -would- be impressive. If we had either of those spells....
Ansha Saeralyan wrote: Primarily waiting on AK before I make a more full reply, given the Detect Magic effect Ansha has up. I believe I saw AK post elsewhere that his last exam wasn't until the 21st (thought I don't remember where he said it now) so I wouldn't expect an update for another week unless he decides to slack off for a while.
Yeah, I saw he said that he was in an exam period for the next two weeks in another game.
Your Humble Narrator
Yeah sorry guys. I see every post in every game i'm in but I barely have time to reply at the moment. I won't be disappearing and thanks for your patience :).
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
No troubles and good luck with the exams.
Hmmmm ..... Dino bone is light strong and pretty uniform. This could be a replacement for ivory/whalebone if the beasties can be bred fast enough. Mind you giant bug exoskeletons could do the same thing......hmmmm
And Jakob's land becomes a dinosaur/ankheg ranch. I'm sure Lady What's-her-Face will be impressed. Then again, prove you're eccentric beyond the ability of even your title and wealth to paper over, and you just might avoid a matchmaking. ;)
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
Well historically it took Bakelite/plastic to dethrone ivory/whalebone as the go to substance for making stuff light, cheap and strong. If Jakob can get this working he can give advice to graduates.
Your Humble Narrator
Is it just me or is Paizo's site speed slower than ever before?
Male Human (Mwangi - Bas'o tribe) Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist archetype) 4
It does seem to be swimming like an asthmatic hamster in molasses.
Your Humble Narrator
Updating once I sleep, didn't quite get to this one or KM tonight.

Ansha Saeralyan wrote: I'm assuming Ansha can't prepare spells again til she rests, which will make attending Archersfeast on-time difficult if she does. Oh, come on, you know she'd sleep until noon anyway. All you'll miss is the folksy, bucolic parts of the holiday: archery contests and wholesome young lovers. The real party doesn't start until sundown. ;)
But, yeah, arcane casters need 8 hours of rest. The tradeoff is they can prepare spells at any time, whereas divine casters are tied to a particular time of day and if they miss it, they're out of luck for 24 hours.
Qhude wrote: Heh - Qhude is still banned from the Inn :P He should drag the dinosaur parts through the Lion's Maw while he's at it. I'm sure that would endear him to the halfling. :)
Male Human (Mwangi - Bas'o tribe) Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist archetype) 4
He's not quite that brazen... but my intent was to detour past the front of the inn - then straight down main street in plain view of those getting ready for the festival.
I don't know. It'd be awful fun to watch him stride into the tavern, plunk down the dinosaur head on the bar and throw the tail across a table, and demand, "Ale for the returning victors, woman!" :D

Nicely done.
Female Human (Bonuwat) Cleric 4
Going to leave her spell selection the same as yesterday. We may be in town, but she's not entirely convinced we might not end up in a combat situation anyway.
Wish she'd had Ant Haul learned yesterday. Qhude might have been able to lug the entire dinosaur into town then. :)
Your Humble Narrator
Start thinking about level 3 changes guys :).
Not much going to happen for Tebati and co. right now, but I think once you've spoken to Mindra I can narrate a "grouprest" and have you up and about for the majority of Archersfeast.
Male Human (Mwangi - Bas'o tribe) Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist archetype) 4
AK, any thoughts on this? I'd really like to replace augury with something, as I have Shimye-Magalla skinned as opposed to prophecy due to the future being in flux and therefore unknowable.
I'm trying to even imagine a scenario in which locate object would be useful and coming up empty. Perhaps literally looking for a needle in a field full of haystacks?

Had to go look this up again. You should put it on the campaign tab, AK, so I don't have to search the thread! ;P

DM AK - I've been doing some thinking about what Qhude might seek to do with the tail by way of trophy... and just wanted to clarify something.
Cru-tho-ni-ax is taking 'one of the spines upon its tail would suit me well' - and based on 'anklyosaurus' spiked tail slammed into Kieran' I'm assuming we're dealing with a tail that looks something like this? - rather than a typical ankylo tail which looks like this?
Just trying to figure if Qhude has a tail club to try and preserve, or whether he'll need to make something from the vertebrae and osteoderms.
Male Human (Ijo) Monk 4 (Zen Archer)
At 3rd level the Zen Archer starts hitting its sweet spot....just in time for ArcherFeast
+1 BAB
+ 10 ft Fast Movement
Zen Archery - Wis replaces Dex when using bows ~ +2 to hit
Point Blank Master - No AoO for using within 5'
and probably Deadly Aim as the 3rd level feat
N'bellocq wrote: At 3rd level the Zen Archer starts hitting its sweet spot....just in time for ArcherFeast Don't get your hopes up too high; AK usually enforces downtime to level. You might not get to reap the benefits of your level until we're leaving Freehold. ;)
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
Third level rough draft
+1 Bab, Fort, Ref. 1st level spell per day.
New Revelation: Bonded Mount, Horse
Feat: Extra Revelation: Friend to animals
New 1st level spell known. Summon natures ally I
Hmmmm a very animal focused level. Need to ponder.
Advice is welcome, begged for actually.

Tebati- i'm ok with that swap yeah.
Qhude- As per the first picture yes.

DM Alexander Kilcoyne wrote: Tebati- i'm ok with that swap yeah. Thanks, AK. I'll get her level-up ready tomorrow or the next day; I have PCs from two other games who are also in need of leveling right now. :P Cleric's aren't terribly complicated to level up anyway: +1 to Reflex, 2d6 channel energy (yay!), and she'll have level 2 spells. Have to pick a feat: I was thinking Extra Channel (always useful) or Run (probably not at all useful, but I've never had a PC take it before).
Your Humble Narrator
You likely won't level up until Archersfeast is over as you surmised, so don't feel rushed. You'll need your level 2 stats for a time :).
Male Human (Mwangi - Bas'o tribe) Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist archetype) 4
Missed the edit window, but Qhude would have removed his rope before leaving Jeggare's camp. So he's unarmored and only has the guisarme and a dagger on him.
Thanks for the tail confirmation too, I'll write his plans IC when he gets to that point.
