Be sure and step back after you shoot! You don't want to end up in melee if the ankylosaurus moves forward.
Difficult terrain, so I can't step back, and can't move far enough that it won't get me....I figure hit with two shots and pray that is enough, rather than one and run.
I don't know what an ankylosaurus's base speed is, but I believe he's hampered by difficult terrain too and by the net unless he breaks free. We can hope he can't move into range and attack this round. When Tebati was caltopped and entangled by the Bandu, she could barely move with 50 ft base speed.

Well, there was a language translator for a bunch of D&D languages that I linked a few pages ago in this OOC thread, but I tried to access it a day or two ago and the site no longer exists. So...I just threw together gibberish that had lots of sibilant sounds in it.
Apologies for the absenteeism, holiday evenings are basically consisting of me welded to the couch with an eight month old on my chest and I've not been able to wrangle posting time until late at night (generally past midnight). Well it is not a perfect plan, and the spell is item only which might preclude casting it on the shell in any case. I wonder if a corpse is an item.....hmmmmm

At 1 min per level it is not worth the outlay. Pity because the visual of all of us riding the upturned body back to town would be a propaganda coup.
How much does an ankylosaurus weigh? Because if spellcasting were no object, I think it'd be much more impressive for an enlarged and ant hauled Qhude to drag it into the marketplace by the tail, right through their garden and over the "Don't pick the flowers" sign. ;)

I believe I saw AK post elsewhere that his last exam wasn't until the 21st (thought I don't remember where he said it now) so I wouldn't expect an update for another week unless he decides to slack off for a while.

Hmmmm ..... Dino bone is light strong and pretty uniform. This could be a replacement for ivory/whalebone if the beasties can be bred fast enough. Mind you giant bug exoskeletons could do the same thing......hmmmm

Well historically it took Bakelite/plastic to dethrone ivory/whalebone as the go to substance for making stuff light, cheap and strong. If Jakob can get this working he can give advice to graduates.

I'm assuming Ansha can't prepare spells again til she rests, which will make attending Archersfeast on-time difficult if she does.
Oh, come on, you know she'd sleep until noon anyway. All you'll miss is the folksy, bucolic parts of the holiday: archery contests and wholesome young lovers. The real party doesn't start until sundown. ;)
But, yeah, arcane casters need 8 hours of rest. The tradeoff is they can prepare spells at any time, whereas divine casters are tied to a particular time of day and if they miss it, they're out of luck for 24 hours.
He should drag the dinosaur parts through the Lion's Maw while he's at it. I'm sure that would endear him to the halfling. :)

AK, any thoughts on this? I'd really like to replace augury with something, as I have Shimye-Magalla skinned as opposed to prophecy due to the future being in flux and therefore unknowable.

DM AK - I've been doing some thinking about what Qhude might seek to do with the tail by way of trophy... and just wanted to clarify something.
Cru-tho-ni-ax is taking 'one of the spines upon its tail would suit me well' - and based on 'anklyosaurus' spiked tail slammed into Kieran' I'm assuming we're dealing with a tail that looks something like this? - rather than a typical ankylo tail which looks like this?
Just trying to figure if Qhude has a tail club to try and preserve, or whether he'll need to make something from the vertebrae and osteoderms.

Don't get your hopes up too high; AK usually enforces downtime to level. You might not get to reap the benefits of your level until we're leaving Freehold. ;)

Thanks, AK. I'll get her level-up ready tomorrow or the next day; I have PCs from two other games who are also in need of leveling right now. :P Cleric's aren't terribly complicated to level up anyway: +1 to Reflex, 2d6 channel energy (yay!), and she'll have level 2 spells. Have to pick a feat: I was thinking Extra Channel (always useful) or Run (probably not at all useful, but I've never had a PC take it before).
You likely won't level up until Archersfeast is over as you surmised, so don't feel rushed. You'll need your level 2 stats for a time :).
Missed the edit window, but Qhude would have removed his rope before leaving Jeggare's camp. So he's unarmored and only has the guisarme and a dagger on him.
Thanks for the tail confirmation too, I'll write his plans IC when he gets to that point.
