The AcP are pooled by your Org Play account. In order to purchase a boon, you first need to select a character to apply it to from a drop down list, then the boon is applied to that character number.
So if you plan on making a PC with an unusual ancestry or heritage, you have to register the character first and then purchase the boons.

So, I'd like to try this playstyle; what do I need to do to get started? Will this be play-by-post?
Hope I didn't spam, posted in a PF1 thread by mistake...
Welcome BlindmanV2! This is indeed the PbP Lodge for PFS2E. To get started make a post in the gameplay thread. This will make this Lodge appear in your campaigns tab so that you can watch for new games.
Currently we are in the middle of a PbP Con but there should still be a few pickup games posted here and there. Keep an eye out on the recruitment tab for games being recruited. The GM will usually link a google sheet to sign up on.
In the meantime here is a set of slides (Link) to get familiar and get your character set up.
If you have any questions let us know. The community here is very helpful.
((If anyone has a game opening soon please save a space for BlindmanV2))

Since the Alias tab does not differentiate Pathfinder Society 1 and Pathfinder Society 2 when you hover over the alias, I can't tell, but make sure you've registered a Second Edition character.

PaizoCon Online 2021 PbP Update
Tomorrow (March 1st) the Warhorn opens for GMs to begin choosing their games.
We are working through some of the logistics for PaizoCon Online 2021 and differentiating our games on Warhorn. Below is how we are doing that and how to quickly find the PbP Games.
VTT game slots are as follows:
0700 - 1200
1300 - 1800
1900 - 2400
We are going to put all of the PBP games on its own separate timeslot starting at 0600 on Friday the 28th. This will help separate PBP from VTT as well as put us right at the forefront to look for games as players and GM alike.

At what time will we be cleared to sign up?
Oh, and note that those times are Pacific Daylight Savings Time
From the paizocono discord -- GM signup will likely begin today between 2-4pm PST. They haven't announced the exact time due to a piece of information that is out of the event coordinators hands. I'd recommend joining the paizocon discord (linked on the warhorn page) if you haven't already to get the most up to date info.

Can you be in more thqn one table at a time, for instance I'm already in GM Blake's game with my kobold. Could I join a paizocon table with my goblin?
Yes, with different characters. Any given character can only be in one game at a time. Also, with the exception of some replayable scenarios (or boons that give you replays), you can only play each scenario and GM each scenario once.

Yes, you can play on more than one table at a time as long as it is with different characters. No one PC can be on two tables at the same time.
Either way you should be good though as PaizoCon games won't begin until the end of May.

I am GMing as VTT four sessions of my upcoming scenario of 2-18 Fanciful March of Urwal. I'm not doing PBP right now for this as it takes concentration over a long haul, and my job is currently sucking up all my brain bandwidth on the days I work. I suspect that I may not be able to do much PBP GMing until the pandemic settles down, and I'm allowed to let my brain step down from its constant alert status of working in person for the library during this crazy time.
Still, I miss you guys. If anyone wants to play a VTT using google slides with Rollem on Discord for the dice rolls and wants to play my game, I'd love to hear the voices of old PBP friends. I'm GMing my scenario every morning of the convention in the first VTT slot of the day.
Hmm
PS Other PBPers you may know, like Kate and Dennis, are also running author tables at PaizoCon.

Note that "no character at two tables" also applies across formats (PbP, VTT, F2F). Joining a PbP game locks the character, so joining a PbP game now would probably lock it for most or all of March and probably into April (my games usually last 6-8 weeks with a low of 4 and high of 12). If there's a VTT convention in April, you should make sure you and the GM have a good idea of each others' expectations before commitments are made.
As a GM, I always make clear up front anything that might be construed as a surprise later (I anticipate finishing before PaizoCon / I don't anticipate finishing before PaizoCon / I work for a cannabis company so I'm working doubles in the week leading up to April 20 / I'm an astronaut heading to Alpha Centauri so there's a minimum 3-day lag between posts / etc).

Announcement!
We have a wonderful announcement. Paizo has recently released a brand new product as a part of embracing the digital initiative. Not only that but Next weekend, March 12-14, will be a Double Points AcP weekend for the new One-Shot adventure, Sundered Waves.
Play-by-post games which begin during the weekend will also qualify! Here are some links to the Blog post as well as the scenario.
I am also providing a form below as Paizo is graciously offering a scenario drop for any GM that wants to run this starting next weekend. Please fill out the form below if you are planning on running this. This is certainly short notice and I will be turning this form in on Monday evening. You are more than welcome to purchase the scenario if you want it sooner.
Sundered Waves Scenario Request Form
If you are purchasing your own game and are planning on running this please send me a PM so that we can still track you.
Items of note
Reporting Information
As for reporting this game. PbP will get the double points once I send a message out to Org Play. To make this as easy as possible for him, since Paizo was looking out for us, GM's please report your games into the Outpost IV reporting tool. We will separate it out from there to send Org Play one message for all of us.
Use Event Name: PbP Sundered Waves
Event #2704124

![]() |

Yes, it will run the normal length of a scenario. You can run it anytime but to be eligible and receive the extra points for the Double AcP Event you game would have to start between March 12-14.

Watery Soup |

If anyone is interested in running it by PbP, I'd be interested in playing.
If there are six people interested in playing it by PbP, I'd be willing to GM (but I prefer to play before I GM).

Is there a complete description of Campaign Mode somewhere for reference? I'm not sure exactly how the PFS credit would work. I've just que sera sera'ed it until now but I feel like I should figure it out.
Or, if someone wants to answer my questions here ...
1. At creation, characters can use Uncommon items? Rare items? PFS-restricted options like evil characters?
2. If so, is the tradeoff that a player gets less credit than the material offers (e.g., Plaguestone spans 3 levels, but PFS credit is 1 level)? Or is there another drawback?
3. Can the credit be applied to a character that's a higher level than was played (e.g., Plaguestone caps out at Level 3 or 4, can its credit be applied to a 5th level character)?
4. On the GM side, can houserules be applied to the game, e.g., free archetype?
5. Is player credit independent of whether their character dies? For example, if someone goes through 5 characters, they take the credit as a lump sum and applies it to a single PFS character?

![]() |

1. Campaign mode means that the GM decides on the rules, all the rules.
2. No tradeoff necessarily, you get the PFS credit the sanctioning says you do. (It awards 1 table of GM credit just like a scenario; players & GMs get 4 XP, 10 Treasure Bundles and 0 Reputation on their chronicles)
3. In PF2, you can apply module credit to any character, regardless of level.
4. Refer to number 1
5. Refer to number 1, the GM can definitely decide to give credit anyway.

Sanctioned adventures operate in Campaign Mode, which does not use Pathfinder Society rules. GMs set the rules on character creation and may freely modify the encounters and story. Sanctioned adventures award a Chronicle which may be applied to Pathfinder Society characters as outlined in the sanctioning documents. Sanctioning documents reside on a product’s description page at paizo.com.
Also note that this one-shot is balanced for four players using the provided pre-generated characters.
Since it is NOT a repeatable adventure, you could normally only get the chronicle once as a player and once as a GM. You would still get ACP for every time you GM it, just not the chronicle with the XP, gold, and any other rewards.
Or, if someone wants to answer my questions here ...
1. At creation, characters can use Uncommon items? Rare items? PFS-restricted options like evil characters?
Whatever the GM says since you do not have to abide by the Pathfinder Society rules. Technically, a GM could run it using something like Toon rules if they really wanted and you could still apply it to a society character.
2. If so, is the tradeoff that a player gets less credit than the material offers (e.g., Plaguestone spans 3 levels, but PFS credit is 1 level)? Or is there another drawback?
No drawbacks other than the players may find the experience unrepresentative of normal play.
3. Can the credit be applied to a character that's a higher level than was played (e.g., Plaguestone caps out at Level 3 or 4, can its credit be applied to a 5th level character)?
See the sanctioning document for the adventure for any restrictions.
If there are no restrictions there, it should be able to be applied to a character of any level.
Applying Credit has the general rules.
4. On the GM side, can houserules be applied to the game, e.g., free archetype?
See answer to question 1.
5. Is player credit independent of whether their character dies? For example, if someone goes through 5 characters, they take the credit as a lump sum and applies it to a single PFS character?
Yes, unless the sanctioning document says differently the character receiving credit should get full rewards and no conditions from the character that played the adventure should be applied to the character receiving credit.

Empirically, are the rules all the same, or does it vary from adventure to adventure?
The background is that I'm thinking about running a module/AP for my kids and it would be nice (but not essential) that they get apply-able credit. This might be a nice one. I was also think Plaguestone but we've been listening to the Roll for Combat Plaguestone run so if I don't change some stuff around, they'll just meta the whole thing. I could also do Slithering (not sure if it's been sanctioned) or Ruby Phoenix Tournament. If it's a case by case thing, I might wait for something to actually get sanctioned, but if the credit rules are similar/identical I can just go ahead and trust we can work out the credit issue at a future date.

ALWAYS check the sanctioning documents. It has varied by product.
This one has specific language that is different.

I don't think it would be a problem for that, but please ALWAYS check the sanctioning document. They are not uniform.

Hrmm, would I be correct in assuming that a starting 'over the weekend' would be the weekend on the terms of Paizo? Or are we using the usual UTC times? I would love to run a game of the adventure but I'm going to be busy my Sunday (Japan time) but could get started on Monday my time before Paizo's weekday closing time. I could look at an early Saturday start time as well, but that'd be most people's Firdays.

I'm fine starting on Friday (your Saturday).

As this is Paizo's event and their double AcP I would go off of their timeframe using PST. As long as your game begins that Friday / Saturday / Sunday (12-14) You are good.

GM Sedoriku |

... I completely missed that Friday the 12th was included there! I could readily start a game then, assuming people were okay with a gap in GM posts for a day or so.

Can we run it play by post or Vtt between March 12 and 14th and still get double credit, or can we only run it PBP to get double credit?
We do use the Outpost IV forum, which is why I doublecheck to see if it can be run either way.
Edit: I did understand that PBP games don't have to finish by the 14th, just start between those two dates.

Go ahead and use this link
It will obviously have a different event code as it is set up for Outpost IV at this time but the reporting will funnel down to my VO email and I will sort it from there.
The Sundered Waves game is not currently in the drop down list so go ahead and write it in on the comments section.

Any update on when Sundered Waves will be dropping for those of us that requested it on the form?

Watery Soup |

Any update on when Sundered Waves will be dropping for those of us that requested it on the form?
I thought it was just me that hadn't received it.
If TBTP are reading this, I went ahead with a backup plan last night (for my kids, I split the scenarios into multiple parts so technically their characters are locked now and probably will be for the weekend), so I can be removed from the support request if it hasn't been processed yet.
If I do end up getting the scenario at this point, I can pinky promise to decline support for the next PbP convention and buy the scenarios myself (unless there's a more elegant solution, like being able to retroactively buy Sundered Waves).

I sent in a special request to the Org Play team. You (GM TOP and Watery Soup) should hopefully be receiving it soon.

True, if you are in the middle of a table then look at incorporating this new version as long as your table is onboard.

So the question is, if we already played it, then how much different will it be? I know it isn't repeatable, but that is besides the point.
