Is there anything I can help people with?

Ellena Lovain |

I’m here just waiting on everyone else to get back in the swing of things.

Quick GM note:
Demons are personifications of evil and use a lot of swear words.
Galtese black ops can fluently swear and curse in Abyssal, Infernal, Celestial and Draconic.
If the swearing gets over the top, just pop me a PM.

Hey everyone. I'm back. It's not been an easy time for me lately, but I'm eager to get rolling once again.
Sending over a whole bunch of fun information about my character to our GM shortly.
Thank you for your patience. This game has always meant a lot to me.

Liliyashanina |

Whooop, seemingly we kind of got the crew back!
Also, general GM comment, I prefer to find or make images of characters or NPCs compared to describing them. It is I think more descriptive, and looking at a picture also takes less time for you, and I can use the pictures for tokens etc.
And I just prefer to write descriptions of actions or dialouge.
Silent image is by the way a heavily underused utility spell. Need a picture of someone, silently? Silent image! Want to share a map of a dungenon you have escaped from, including enemies you have spotted? Silent image! Need an instant distraction? Silent image! Covering you as you run away? Silent image a bad wall in one doorway, run through the other!

Liliyashanina |

I am happy this is play by post, or oh boy, this would be an expository monolouge from hell, or more like, the abyss :).

In Pathfinder society I carried a hat of disguise to hand to NPCs and tell them to use it to show me what a person they're describing looks like. Came in handy more than once!

Liliyashanina |

They are all pretty powerful individually, Belana being easier to research is because she is a lure (Anarya rolled high enough to notice the discrepancy), on a meta level, and while her true name is incredibly well hidden which makes her almost unsummonable, facts about her life and personality are more easily found.
You would know that the way to "summon her" is to use sendings or contact entity spells (or Irriseni mirror sight, once you have a set of mutually known mirrors so to speak, but I am uncertain if you know of this spell) to hash out a deal, likely accept getting scried on as a security precaution (she has very powerful enemies), and then she teleports to the designated meeting place at an arranged time an place.
Being contacted by the daughter of Aroden would absolutely pique her interest.

Nona Rastaban |

I'm back. This time as a player.
I'm still refining and adjusting the character but she is mostly what you see in the profile. As a shaman, she has access to a lot of spells both divine and arcane. Since she prepares her spells like a cleric, she can prepare for specific circumstances.
Her mythic Path is a dual path of Marshal and Hierophant, so she won't duplicate Anarya, with emphasis on support actions.
She also has some ranks in all the knowledge skills with highest being geography and nature. She has hexes in addition to spells.
She won't rush into melee, but should be able to hold her own from the back ranks and provide a lot of support to those at the front.
Looking forward to joining. Being freed of the GM duties for this campaigned has given me a lot more time to enjoy the games where I'm a player, so I appreciate being allowed to make this transition.

Clebsch GM |

Here is an interesting list of things you may remember if you played first edition D and D. It was compiled by Jeff Grubb, who was my roommate in college and the one who introduced me to role playing games. I remember a lot of these things.

Aelith Maernvalsa |

Image seems to work for me now. Also hello again!
I broke my arm roughly a week ago, so hopefully my one handed typing doesn't cause too many typos.

Nona Rastaban |

Sorry to hear about your arm. Hope it heals well and fast.
Speaking of pictures, I reviewed Aelith's posts and profile and cannot find anything that describes what they look like. Can you provide some basics? I like to visualize PCs and NPCs but that avatar doesn't provide much to work with. Thanks.

Nona Rastaban |

I'm unable to connect to the Internet. Must replace our router. Hope to be back to normal by Monday evening. I'm posting with my phone.

Nona Rastaban |

I will be traveling for most of the next week. I will have limited time and opportunity to post. Please 'bot me as needed.

Nona Rastaban |

I'm back, but it doesn't look like I missed anything. I'd hate to think the campaign is ending.

Liliyashanina |

I would hate that too, I did PM anarya and would be comfortable continueing with 3 should she show back up.
I hope everyone is fine!

Ellena Lovain |

I’m here just waiting for the missing members in the group to make a post!

Liliyashanina |

Lets go on, wouldd be a shame to let this die!
I am still having a degree of hope that Anarya will pop back in.

Nona Rastaban |

I'll post later today.

Ellena Lovain |

Welcome to the squad! We can certainly use a new character, as I’m sure the GM has some wonderful awfulness waiting for us!

Liliyashanina |

I really wonder how diplomatic the party will be here!

Liliyashanina |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Currently the squad has scant arcane casting, and not all that many ranged options.
Quick rundown for the "vision" rules:
If you detect evil, and the person you are detecting evil on is detecting good on you at the same time, such visions may happen arcording to GM Fiat.

Nona Rastaban |

Welcome, John Gs. I was once the GM until earlier this year, when the time it was taking for me to maintain the campaign became a problem. Liliyashanina took over, but when the previous players started not posting, I asked to join as a player. Haven't had much chance to play yet, however. Hoping things pick up.

Ellena Lovain |

I’m a damage soaker, and can do some melee damage, Nona has the divine casting covered, as does Anarya assuming they are still here. So arcane/ranged and any other funky combo you can think of would be great!

Liliyashanina |

Fun stuff:
Ragnar is extremely fashionable (trait) and has some other aspects that up his diplomacy by quite a lot, including some cheap but effective gear, a full suit of equipment, and 22 Charisma.
Him using diplomacy on the party is obviously not mind control, but rather making a reasonable request to parley and find a peaceful solution.
Funnily enough he has zero skill ranks in bluff. He is perpetually amused by his demonic peers thinking he is lying when he actually isnt, he does not think he can succesfully b*#@!+&% demons in the first place, and also doesnt think he can be all that effective in catching their lies by anything other then logic.
Cydric was viciously tortured, Belana managed to exfiltrate him, a task made easier by him only being a torso and a head without any remaining limbs, and then consensually removed his memories of the torture while healing him using a druid who owes her major favors. Why? There was a "Screw over Socothbenoth" competition in the midnight isles among higher class Succubi, and be the rules of the competition your consorts deeds are yours. She won that competition on account of this.
She is out of her depth here and she knows it. She is however a very potent force multiplier.
There is a lot of stuff going on with this one.
Lets say that Outsiders that can go against their nature, but still are loyal to their superior, are an incredibly valuable commodity.

Nona Rastaban |

A lot depends on which of the other PCs remain AWOL. Anarya's player has invested a lot into developing this character and I expect her absence is just temporary and related to RL issues. The other two (Guillame and Aeltih) joined more recently so I'm not sure how committed they are.
Guillame's player has a lot of characters but I could only find two with posts this year, one that most recently posted in May. So I suspect we've lost him.
Aelith is their player's only active PC. Posts have been reliable for the past year, but stopped abruptly in September.

Liliyashanina |

I am hoping Anarya comes back, in part because the upcoming encounter was what I envisaged to be a mythic trial for her. I am assuming the other 2 are gone, although I woould be happy to be surprised.
Cydric knows Guillaumes father and could offer hints of what happened to him, and Aenliths shadow-mother could/would have some interesting connections to the Succubus Belana.

Nona Rastaban |

I'll send Anarya's player a message on Discord. Maybe she'll notice that.

@John G finalizes your purchases, you angelic friendo will teleport you in when combat starts. You get the same 3 rounds of prep.
@everyone can you access the map link?

Liliyashanina |

OOC notes:
--Bad guys will teleport in in 30 seconds
--This battle will be very very chaotic
--We will be going in group initiative, with heroes, the Forsaken, and the bad guys (kind of the worse guys, I mean, the Forsaken arent nice people at all, but they can be reasoned with) going on their average rolled initiative.
--This fight will be about more then just killing the enemies.
Can you do so in style and show your might? (this will impress the Kellids and influence how many of them join you)
Can you show the Forsaken you are not to be messed with? (obvious benefits)
Can you save some of them should it prove neccessary?
Do you need to be saved by them?
How many of the incoming Demons do you manage to kill? (yes, 4 of them are named)

I went ahead and:
--added everyones tokens including Anaryas, perhaps the presence of her commisioned token on a battlemap can aid in summoning her player back from the Shadow Realm!
--Added a handy outlier representing allegiance. Purple is forsaken, Red is the worldwound, green is you.
--Mahrevok is still chained, Askold and Dyre are I presume free (they are also unarmed, but spoiler, both got ways around that).
--Dyre, who has killed Crusaders in battle, but from his Gorrumite pov commited to actual warcrimes (and can claim that he aided in the escape of some crusader pows by knowlingly looking into the other direction), is trending Crusader
-- Askold is a sentinel of a Demon Lord, and has performed sacrifices to Nurgal, he thus just doesnt believe he has long term prospects with the Crusade, but is grateful for being allowed to choose.
--Marhevok is a total prick and a narrative device to show that some Kellids are total pricks, some arent, and that some evil people (Askold is) can have relatable motiviations and even admirable qualities, while others do not, by his juxtaposition.
--I upped their stats a fair bit, I have no idea why Paizo included CR3 and CR4 enemies in the module as written.
--Eluviel is a friendly angel who will teleport in yath

Situation:
The heroes got pissed at Sarkorian Kellids raiding their supply, traced this down to a place called Wintersun, and kicked them in the face taking most of them capive.
Wintersun formally worships a "green Lady", who is also known as Jerribeth the mythic Glabrezu, and aligned with Baphomet.
On the way back from the Wintersun hall to Drezen, with a bunch of prisoners in tow, Nona gets inserted into the party and the party then fights of a haunt like entity (I kind of intended this to be part of Anarayas mythic trial).
You are then waylaid by the Nocticulan Kellid faction known as the Forsaken, these are the people you are currently talking too.
Sevanna was a wintersun, ran away from Marevock (the leader of the wintersuns) and joined the Forsaken out of serious cases of domestic abuse. Note that she is not Mythic.
The Forsaken propose a prisoner exchange. To show their might (and interest Nocticula into co-invading Golarion), Baphometans and Deskarites sold many Slaves gained from the initial attack on Kenabres on Nocticulas slave markets. Very cheaply even, the Forsaken bought a bit over a hundred, and converted most of them into joining them (other then Ciar and 11 others), mostly by being far better hosts then you would expect.
They are exchanging these 12 (technically, these 12 could also still opt to become Forsaken, spoiler they wont, if they had such inclinations they would have switched earlier) for however many Kellids from Wintersun want to join them.
At this point, a scrying attempt is detected, both by Belana and by Ellena, and you anticipate that a third party is going to teleport in and attack you.
Belana the Succubus (whom by her actions is apparently a teleportation specialist, apparently having the ability to teleport forsaken to her side) is currently seeking to disrupt or discoordinate the incoming teleport by that third party via Mythic B#$~!$&* TM, giving time for the party to prebuff. She can also sense who or what is teleporting in, to an extent.
Yaths background angel is meanwhile trying to teleport Yath in.
Yath knows that this angel and the Succubus Belana have an accord of sorts from her background. Ellena knows (from a vision) that Belana and an Angel got transfused with each others essence as a torture scheme by Doloras. Anarya knows that the Succubus succesfully escaped Cania, the icy home of Doloras.

Yathlara |

Thank you for the recap, it helped me as well!

Ellena Lovain |

** spoiler omitted **...
This is going to be epic! Kudos, GM!

Nona Rastaban |

I think I'm up to speed. I hope a battle will help me connect with the situation and allow me to begin to develop Nona's personality and style. Looking forward to what happens next.
I added a token for Zia, Nona's coyote familiar. She is not going to try to fight anyone and will just try to keep safe and close to Nona.
Welcome to the other newbie, Yathlara.

Yathlara |

Thank you, Nona. I look forward to getting to know your characters and welcome any advice since I am relatively inexperienced with high-level wizards and completely so with metamagic (which I am trying out with Yath).

Nona Rastaban |

I've run a few spell caster characters who got to around 9th level, but I'm new to the ins and outs of higher level characters and to mythic abilities and spells. We'll have fun, I know that.

Liliyashanina |

Enjoy the massive gargantuan buff package, you will likely need it.
I do like that Sevanna sports Fiend Totem and Celestial Blood rage powers at the same time.
In tldr form:
You gain a d8 natural gore attack.
Your AB, assuming you accept rage: increases by +1 (untyped), and +2 (morale),+2 (extra enchantment) for a total of +5.
Your AC increases by +1 (dodge)
Your will saves increase by +2 (morale) and +2 (sacred) for a total of +4. You also get some rerolls.
Your fortitude saves increase by +2 (morale) and +2 (sacred) for a total of +4.
Your reflex saves increase by +2 (morale) and +2 (sacred) and +1 (dodge) for a total of +5
Your damage increases by +2 (enchantment weapon song) and +2 (morale) and +d6 vs evil outsiders, your melee attacks also count as good.
Prior to a roll, you can use moment of greatness and double a morale bonus.
You have 2 different ways of rerolling willsaves as immidiate actions, you must do so before the result is revealed.

Nona Rastaban |

Is this directed at a particular PC or everyone? If everyone, where what is the gore attack from?

Yathlara |

I think it is from the rage song, giving us the rage power fiend totem. We grow horns to bat and batter our enemies, but not Yath cause she prefers to stay well out of melee. And wouldn't it make it so we couldn't cast spells?

Liliyashanina |

OOC Note:
The Forsaken are not GMPCs, they are NPCs with their own motivations. You specifically can receive sizeable benefits from overshadowing them inspite of them being higher level then you are.
You will not be accompanied by a level 12 Urban Bloodrager Level 1 Mysterious stranger (Cydric) Mythic trickster, or by a Level 12 Bloodrager Level 1 Mystery class (Ragnar) Dual path Guardian/Champion, or by... Lets say Belana has an eclectic combiantion of classes and features.
This is for everyone, and well, its a spell warrior, whose weapon song:
The gore attack, the extra enchantment on weapons, the d6 damage vs outsiders, good aligned weapon attacks and once per rage reroll willsave as an immidiate action are from the weapon song.
Weapon song has no verbiage about stopping you from spellcasting or using skills, so it doesnt. It secretly makes it kind of the "best Skald" although she doenst have spell kenning which is very annoying utility wise.
Being able to reroll will saves is the main benefit for casters, but it also means you count as having a melee weapon out.
Lastly there are some spells in which you fire material projectiles (holy javelin or coin shot yet, scorching ray no) at enemies, and I would rule that the weapon song applies to them.
A spell warrior gains the following raging song, allowing him to grant his ally’s weapons enhancement bonuses and special powers.
Enhance Weapons (Su) At 1st level, the spell warrior can grant a +1 enhancement bonus to the weapons (including ammunition) of allies within 60 feet. At 5th level and every 5 levels thereafter, this enhancement bonus increases by 1. The maximum bonus gained is based upon the number of weapons affected: +5 to one weapon, +4 to two weapons, +3 to three weapons, or +2 to four or more weapons. Fifty pieces of ammunition count as one weapon for this purpose. The wielder of a weapon enhanced by this raging song counts as if he were under the effect of an inspired rage raging song for all purposes involving the skald’s rage powers.
These bonuses can also be used to add any of the following weapon special abilities to the weapons enhanced by this ability: dancing, defending, distance, flaming, frost, ghost touch, keen, mighty cleaving, returning, shock, seeking, or speed. Adding these weapon special abilities consumes an amount of bonus equal to the special ability’s cost (see Table: Melee Weapon Special Abilities). These enhancement bonuses and special abilities overlap with any enhancements or special abilities the weapon already has, though duplicate special abilities do not stack. If an affected weapon is not magical, at least a +1 enhancement bonus must be added before any other special abilities can be.
The bonus and special abilities granted by this raging song are determined when the song begins, and cannot be changed until the raging song ends and another is begun. These bonuses apply to only one end of a double weapon.
This ability replaces the inspired rage raging song.
Semi secretly, Sevanna is a massive asset to anyone fighting demons because she can weapon song several hundred people into having good-aligned mini holy weapons. Which has amazing economy of force.
You didn interface with her much, but her tldr is:
--She was, as Mahrevoks consort, pretty certain he would completely f@&+ up everything. While she did consider herself capable of killing him, not in a straight fight, but she is quite intelligent and he is not, and she thinks that she can basically ask a Nocticulan to kill Mahrevok in return for her fealty.
She fears Jerribeth and for good reason. Jerribeth holds one of her siblings, and her son (with Mahrevok) "hostage".
--The Forsaken, especially on account of them having a jail break and exfiltration specialist, are really attractive to her , and Nocticulas thing about beating the crap out of abusive consorts strongly resonates with her as well.
--She managed to free a curious assortment of very very green crusaders from wintersun captivity (and likely brutal sacrifice). This was intended to ward off a massacre by the crusade, because she was told what would happen to these crusaders (which would have been unusually brutal even for worldwound standards), and to demonstrate that not all Wintersuns are evil.
--She was Chaotic Neutral trending Chaotic good after her saving the prisoners from brutal death at cost to herself, but has since freely and willingly pledged herself to the Lady in Shadows, in return for the Forsaken attempting to "save" her people, while semi selfless, it put her back to chaotic neutral.
I am finalizing some statblocks atm!
I may overshoot the difficulty here, if I do, dont pay to close attention to certain numeric values of the foes.

Ellena Lovain |

Would accepting the demonic buff make Ellena uneasy (or perhaps fall)? If so, I’m fine with not accepting the demon’s blessing.
