I will take this chance to load my bag of holding within 90% of capacity with only the most valuable of treasure. I am looking at gems and jewelry and anything that glows. Buchart, do you have Detect Magic available?
Also, I will put lizard dude poison on 5 arrows. Adding to my secondary sword as well.
I currently have Blue Whinnis on primary sword and one dagger.
5 x arrows w/ Lizard dude poison
1 x Short Sword w/ Lizard Dude Poison
1 x Short Sword w/ Blue Whinnis
1 x Dagger w/ Blue Whinnis.
Oh, and I want to look in the box, after detecting traps on it.

There are other treasures here, but most appear heavily damaged by the heat or molten gold. Much of the pile is a fused together and will take sometime to pry apart. Everything including the coins and gems in the pile has a small bit of magic. While you are scanning you see the stones and and pearl in the open box in Fernleaf's hands are all magical. Some of the buildings off the road will have much easier pickings than this pile.

At this point, I am not interested in a treasure hunt! I want to get our quest finished so we can leave this accursed land and be done with it! Let's move on!
There are many of us of the Arcane Sciences that will always stop for something magical, whether to study it, take it for advantage or to destroy it.

Buchart Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Sekkim Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Buchart Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Sekkim Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16
Buchart and Sekkimm both recognize the metal box as a warding box - these boxes come in different sizes are usually made of metal and are non-magical, but the inside is lined in lead, this prevents magical detection and most spells from penetrating the contents. It appears on close examination that the stones all have some damage from the heat with small cracks, but the pearl seems undamaged.
Spending a few rounds together you are able to identify the stones and pearl.
Cracked Amethyst Pyramid Ioun Stone - +2 competence bonus on Knowledge (religion) checks to identify undead and their special abilities

Pearl of Power 1st Level - This seemingly normal pearl of average size and luster is a potent aid to all spellcasters who prepare spells (clerics, druids, rangers, paladins, and wizards). Once per day on command, a pearl of power enables the possessor to recall any one spell that she had prepared and then cast that day. The spell is then prepared again, just as if it had not been cast. The spell must be of a particular level, depending on the pearl. Different pearls exist for recalling one spell per day of each level from 1st through 9th and for the recall of two spells per day (each of a different level, 6th or lower).

ooooohhhhh
I would love the one for Dex.I will take 10 and scour one of the most promising nearby buildings with the non-melted horde of treasure and pick from that.
Ah! You will want this one Fernleaf! Handing Fernleaf the one from his head orbit (Deep Crimson).

I added everything to the treasure sheet - please claim and you can mark in there - go ahead and decide who takes, what/if there is a debate I suggest a 1d20 rolloff
I will forgo the fight for goodies...though the Amethyst Prism and Gold Nodule both are right up my ally!
We should probably get away from here soon. We can divy later!
GM Pablo |
I added the gold Nodule since I think you are the only one with Linguistics
FYI on these
- Cracked Deep Red Sphere Ioun Stone - +1 competence bonus on one Dexterity-based skill
- Cracked Incandescent Blue Sphere Ioun Stone - +1 competence bonus on one Wisdom-based skill
- Cracked Mossy Disk Ioun Stone - +1 competence bonus on one Knowledge skill
- Cracked Pale Blue Rhomboid Ioun Stone - +1 competence bonus on one Strength-based skill
You will need to pick the skill once it sets it is that way permanently for that particular skill

Buchart will follow suit on the easy pickup and add it to his pack, which he usually drops and picks up after the fight!

Another 25,000 gp!! Buchart dreams of being fanned on his pleasure barge!
Follow the tracks into the ruins?
Sekkim |
Sekkim takes out a gold coin he carried in with him and compares it to a piece of gold off the ground. I'll use detect magic, detect poison, and any knowledge relevant. I'll also attempt to disbelieve. There's enough gold here to change the course of history, i think. There *has* to be a catch, a curse, or a trick.
