You rest uninterrupted for 8 hours. Occasionally there are noises in far off parts of the city, but nothing harasses you.

Anaba gets a point of Con back. Now down 2, 1 drain and 1 damage.

You feel refreshed, but there is a sense of timelessness in here. The phosphorescent glow from the ceiling moss far above still provides unchanged dim light, but there are no clouds, wind, stars, planets or moon overhead to indicate any passage of time. Xin-Grafar feels like a tomb.

Anaba Survival Tracking: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Anaba picks up the trail and you follow it north around the second ring. You reach another intersection, this one allows you to go all the way south through the giant wall that prevents entry into the inner rings of the city. There are runes here as before where you encountered Fire Elementals. The tracks go through the intersection and turns to the south. Far ahead to the South are enormous gates which pass through the wall and into the inner city. This is the only entrance/exit into the innermost part of the city. You are closing in on your quarry, but only have about 53 hours left before the city floods with molten gold. You want to be long gone by then.

Cela moves up to Fernleaf and tries to put the fire out on him. (This gives him a new save v reflex. +2 if he also tries to put it out, +6 if he stops, drops and rolls)

Anaba, how far behind them are we?


Anaba can tell that they passed this way perhaps 10 or 11 hours ago. They entered, but never exited. This being the only entrance according to the map you saw (See Xin-Grafar Map), they are inside and you are close.

Brent asked me to post for him Fernleaf takes 20 to disable device on the runes, which he feels confident and can be confirmed with detect magic. This intersection will no longer summon a Elemental, but the other ones you passed probably reset.

Cela turns into an Owl and reconnoiters the gate from above. The Owl has good low-light vision. She quickly returns and reports back.

Standing before the gates to the city’s Second Ring are two hulking skeletons in shining golden breastplates, their thick bones plated with gold. Their huge, gold-plated halberds are crossed in front of the gate, barring the way forward. The wall goes all the way to the ceiling over the gate - this is the only entrance.
