Well, I'd rather have some of this contraband you have but I guess your gold will do.
He takes a coin from Kelson and bites down on it. The merchant looks around carefully and then nods towards the tapestry behind him. Pulling the cloth back, he reveals a door that is flush with the wall. Beyond the door, a metal spiral staircase descends into darkness.
The shopkeeper tells you, The stairs will end at a single doorway. You must knock five times before entering.
The stairs spiral down for 50 feet before ending in a door as described.

Giltman shakes his head, not excited about entering the seedy underbelly of the city, but follows.

![]() |

Miyako, whistling a merry tune, follows after Giltman without a care in the world.
Grandma: It's been a while since I've gone this deep.
Miyako: I wonder what it looks like!
Once everyone's downstairs Miyako knocks five times on the door.

![]() |

After Miyako knocks, a half-orc guard in a chain shirt, with bow and falchion, opens the door and nods for you to pass through.
You enter into a dimly lit, musty cavern. The warming light from the sun has been replaced with a flickering orange glow that emanates from torches stationed throughout the entirety of this cavern. Buildings made of various types of wood and stone line the walls of this immense grotto, while other ramshackle shops snake their way through the causeway. A large canal in the middle of the cave moves ocean water deeper into the chamber. Multiple slapdash docks with accompanying dinghies bob slowly on the canal. A large building stretches across the canal, its exterior caked in barnacles and algae. The smell of salt water lingers in the air.
You may perform Diplomacy (gather information or Knowledge (local) check to they find someone who can provide useful information.

Bo understands the area he is in, before the Pathfinder Society he often was a bouncer or thug for some seedier patrons to interact with.

"That guy, he knows something, let's shake him down," Bo cracks his knuckles and prepares to put down a little beat down for some information. . .if it comes to that.

![]() |

"Yes. Relax Bo. There will plenty of opportunity down here to bust knuckles later, I'm sure." Elska places her hand softly on Bo's shoulder.

Miyako approaches the guy Bo had wanted to extract information from. "Hello! You look like the friendly sort. Would you mind answering some of our questions? Pretty please?"

![]() |

After a little asking around you are pointed in the direction of an exotic reagent shop. Word is Omeck Amani, the proprietor, is a man in the know. Entering the shop you see all manner of ingredients with a variety of magical and alchemical uses. Behind a small counter is a tall and thin human man, with short black hair and beady brown eyes. He speaks quickly, tripping over his own words.
AHWelcome, Haveyoucome for some Keif perhaps, BrainSporesMold, uh Brain Mold Spores. Pausing to gauge your interest, or Maybe Leechwort?

![]() |

Bo steps forward, "Look, we can do this the easy way," motioning toward his companions, the more diplomatics ones, "Or the hard way," cracking his knuckles he'll motion to the mammoth in the fragile alchemist shop. "Ever heard a saying, a bull in a Tian-Xia shop. . ?"

A little confused here... are we currently looking for a guide or information on Tseka? If we are looking for a guide then the strong arm approach isn't overly sensitive...
Now, now Beauregard.... Mido scolds his large companion What about your manners?

![]() |

This one is for information. Sorry the scenario sets this section up a little wacky, you gather useful info from some folks and then you find a guide. So you would ask about Tseka/Aspis.
Beauregard doesn't think the man will run, but he is definitely surprised by Bo's threats. He's eager to speak with the more reasonable Master Mido or the others.
Thehardway, I don't even know why here your, your here!? A shocked look on his face, as if searching to remember if he should know why you are in his shop in the first place.

![]() |

We seek an individual that goes by the name of Tseka... and well we heard you might have heard... well as we don't want to cause you any more annoyance...we're all ears.
Mido replies a bit philosphically inspired.

Teska, I might know something bout that, might not. You know important stuff like that isn't something just anyone can tell ya. I guess it's whats it worth to you?
Amani rubs his fingers together.

![]() |

"Now my friend, there really is no need to be coy about it. You want money from us for this information, we MAY be willing to part with a SMALL amount of gold for such information, but we want to know you will not be making up stories for your own monetary gain. Can we trust you, my friend?"

Bo steps back, whispering to Elska "One knuckle sandwich if ya ask me,"
Crossing his arms he'll watch the man carefully, wary of any trouble he might cause.

![]() |

Well gold is nice, but I prefer 'useful things', things you can't find everyday.
Elska senses that people down here like to deal in contraband items.
Looking to Giltman,
For the right price, more than most. I have a good reputation down here and no sense in me leading good customers astray.

![]() |

"You are in luck. We might have something to offer you." Elska unstraps the chest from Nuk's saddle, lowers it to the floor, and opens the lid. "We might be willing to part with one of these for the information we seek. Do you see anything that piques your interest?"

![]() |

Miyako figures she'll rouse the shopkeeper's interest a bit more.
"But Elska, those items are very valuable! Are you sure the information's worth that much?"

Giltman only looks a tiny bit confused, as he would not understand bluffing in such a way, but he stays quiet.

![]() |

Amani looks in the chest while it is open. Is that blue whinnis poison?
It seems to have sparked his interest.
Well, now open that back up I think what I have to say would be worth that poison.

![]() |

Assuming you agree.
That'sa start!
Amani takes the vial and looks it over as he begins to speak.
Yes, good quality, whatwerewetalkingabout, Tseka yes, She’s the one in charge of Aspis business down here.
He pauses to gauge your reactions.
Not that I’ve ever actually seen her in person. Few people have. They say she keeps to the shadows, someplace in the Deepmarket, and anyone who crosses her winds up dead before they can even blink!
He says the last part loudly with emphasis.
Then looking around as if someone might be listening, he shudders and whispers, She does a lot of trade in poisons and magical components. It’s a lucrative market, but like I said before, don’t go getting any ideas about skimming a bit of her profits. Even with products like this,
Shaking the vial in his hand, he adds She’s not the merciful type.

So then are you sure you want to keep that with you... seems like you are meddling with dangerous people there...

The reagent dealer ignores Master Mido's comment. Looking at Kelson,
There's a tengu woman, Kuniko, always begging in the streets, she knows more than you would think, I bet she either knows the way or knows someone who does.
You all are sure he's on the up and up. He then makes a commentary on your attire.
Although, looking like that, I’d be surprised if they didn’t deliver you to Tseka dead. If you’re looking to blend in, you ain’t doing a good job. You smell of surface dwellers, that's fine here in this part of the Undermarket, we see our share. Folks wanting to take a walk on the wild side and such. But you try to make it in the Deepmarket. Nobody’s going to bat an eye if you get robbed or even killed or worse.
He takes in your reaction, One of them Pathfinders came down here a few years ago and almost got killed because he wasn’t minding his own business, like you right now. Before adding, I ain't saying it as a threat or nothing, just being friendly and helpful now.
He gives a meek smile at Beauregard.

Disguise: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Miyako drops herself on the ground and starts rolling. She then gathers whatever dust and dirt she can find and throws it over herself.
"Do I blend in now?" she asks the reagent dealer.

![]() |

Watching his companions roll around in the dirt, "I'm not sure I'll be very good at creating disguises,"

![]() |

Mido studies his companions and then looks to Amani.
Can you recommend a place where we might find proper attire?

![]() |

Looking to Kelson with a grimace, Alittle betteryes
You could see Agoni, he's near and could probably help you.
Keep in mind that you received 2 scrolls of Disguise Self -- but I think only Kelson can cast (and on himself) and also a Disguise Kit which has 10 uses.
You can readily find Scroll of Disguise Other or even Hat of Disguise
I'll let you use the 2nd Scroll of Disguise Self if you want to barter for a Scroll of Disguise Other. But not for a Hat (as that would be a permanent purchase.
That said everyone will need to give me a Disguise check at some point.

Mido reluctantly attempts to put on a disguise.

![]() |

"I think my disguise is fine like this, probably?"
Miyako looks at her allies. "What do you think?"

![]() |

Bo will attempt to make himself a disguise using the disguise kit,
Disguise + Kit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
"I don't think this is gonna work,"

![]() |

"This is stupid" Elska assesses. "None of us are going to be able to pull this off. Little Nuk here is more convincing!"
I'm not even going to bother to try the disguise kit. :/
Does anyone have any other ideas?

![]() |

So I'm going to post a spoiler up top with current disguise kit checks. You are free to "try" something different and make another check, but you have to humor your GM with some roleplaying about how you are disguising yourself :). Or of course you can choose not to disguise yourself.
Now then, what would you like to do next.
1) Agoni could help you with disguises.
2) You could seek out the tengu woman, Kuniko for information.
3) Diplomacy (gather information) or Knowledge (local) to find a different source of information.
4) Diplomacy (gather information) to look for a guide on your own.
5) Something entirely different.
FYI making a poor disguise check is better than making none. I understand if your opposed to to disguising yourself. And creative play will be rewarded as much as possible.

Bo will dig through the disguise again, finding a pair of fake glasses with an obnoxiously large nose and mustached attached, he'll also dig out an eyepatch.
This'll work perfectly, no one will recognize me with these one. . .
