This time Magga lands a thunderous blow, breaking off heavy chunks of stone. "Is that all you've got? My brother hit harder than that even after the linnorm bit off his arm!"

"Really now?" Beorin looks surprised as he moves his hammer and shield in an attempt to protect himself better while harrying the creature.

Amelie once again tries to do her best in distracting the construct, but almost drops her blade instead.

As the team continues to struggle against the construct, Magga finally delivers a blow that breaks the animated object and it ceases to attack.

"I hope we don't have to face any more of those things. If we do, I'll just let Magga handle it." She pulls out her wand and heals some of her wounds before continuing through the door.

Magga eventually calms down and hands a wand to Beorin, "Would you be kind enough to actuate this for me?" Once she's healed up, the barbarian walks around for while grinning, "That wasn't a bad spat. He actually scratched me!"

Amelie leads the way through the door to a room that is nicely decorated and comfortably furnished, unlike the rest of the complex. Cushioned chairs create a comfortable sitting area, and a large tapestry depicting a battle of dozens of dervishes in a bright yellow sandy desert adds color to the room. The air is scented with cinnamon
and trophy heads and animal skins decorate the floor and remaining walls.

A tall Vudran man stands at the back of the room, near the tapestry, with "fake" scepter of the arclords pointed at you, and a muscular tiger by his side.

Though Amelia would normally never converse with a slaver, they have been given a mission and she intends to see it through and puts on her happy face. "Hi, I'm Amelie, and we're from the Pathfinder Society. We know you are allied with the Aspis Consortium, and the Society wishes you would consider allying with us. We need powerful allies in the area, and we believe it would be a mutually beneficial alliance."

The man lowers the scepter to his side and gives his tiger a scratch on the head.

Pathfinder Society you say? Intriguing. I won't lie the Aspis Consortium scratches my back from time to time, what can the Pathfinder Society offer me? A better deal, yes?

"Allying with the Society and doing good deeds in their name could bring you fame and recognition throughout Jalmeray. All you can expect with the Aspis Consortium is that they will eventually stab you in the back."

@GM: 5 nonlethal, 1 lethal. "Healing Nonlethal Damage: You heal nonlethal damage at the rate of 1 hit point per hour per character level. When a spell or ability cures hit point damage, it also removes an equal amount of nonlethal damage." I tend to ignore the hourly healing though; I hate counting time.

"Of course, if you don't switch sides, I'll have to stab you in the chest." Magga spits on her halberd spike and wipes off some stone dust. "Better to die fighting, I always say." Though you look more like a cryer than a fighter.

Beorin gladly uses the wand on Magga though it sees she prefers only one use of it.

Meeting Zamir though was an eye opener and it's easy to see why the man with his pet was able to force his underlings to bow down to him.

"You are surely an intelligent man and you can see that our society has some of the most famous individuals around. Their exploits recorded and shown to everyone else. I doubt the Aspis could do the same. They're rather infamous for their dead."

Felicitas smiles and adds. "With the society you are a big fish in your pond! With aspis, well there you are a big fish in a pond with piranhas. Nothing more than a tool.

Slightly taken aback by Magga's comments, he's soon placated by Beorin flattery and the promise of fame and improved station from Electra.

Yes, yes, the snakes can't be trusted, I've learned that for sure, and the Pathfinder Society has the type of reputation and the glory, everyone knows it. And adding another great to there ranks would surely help everyone involved! He thinks for a moment, Yes, I accept! New friends lets celebrate, the first of many great days for the Pathfinder Society here in Jalmeray!

Anything else before we move to the conclusion?

Can Zamir considered to be a named NPC scholar, archaeologist, extraplanar authority, or similar figure to join the Scarab Sages?
If so Electra will try to get him to join the scarab sages.

Amelie smiles and puts her hands on her hips, quite proud of herself and her negotiating skills. "You made the right choice. Just stay on the up and up and I'm sure you can do great things with the Society."

Zamir seems overjoyed to be joining the Pathfinder Society. When you return to Venture-Captain Mihir he's also is pleased.

Well done Pathfinders, Zamir will make a fine addition to our ranks, I know he's not without his warts, so I'll keep a close watch on him, but overall I call this a major win for the Society here in Jalmeray!
