Well hey we aren't slavers, we just work for a slaver. One of the men says. And quite frankly Zamir is not worth dying for, line our pockets with a few coins and we will walk right on out of here and never return. The man looks on hopefully.
Beorin Boulderstep |
"Walking out with your lives would be far better then dealing with my angry friend. If you leave that means only this Zamir will have to face her rage, if you don't then you might end up finding out first hand what will happen to Zamir." Beorin points out

We'll count that as an aid for Amelie
You make a fair point dwarf, look we aren't much better than this lot really, Zamir gives us just enough to get by. I mean we'll be heading out in the world with little but what's on our back, just a few coins might help us onto our feet.

A Tiger-Masked Monk steps form one of the cells down the side hallways. Looks over Magga.
Sounds fair enough. He cracks his knuckles and looks to Magga to accept the challenge as well.
If Magga agrees we will have a one-on-one unarmed melee
Amelie Tucker |
Amelie throws her hands up in exasperation at the duel. "Ya know, things can be worked out without violence sometimes. Not everything needs to end in a fight. I hope this monk guy knows what he's in for though."
Beorin Boulderstep |
Holding up his hand, Beorin interjects here.
"I'll provide healing no matter the outcome. Is that fair? In fact I know of a few places that are seeking workers and they'll definitely be paying better than what you have now."
Magga |

The monk gets the jump on Magga and delivers a flurry of blows, the first hitting, but the 2nd missing. Magga rears backs and lands a haymaker. The monk lands a 1-2 combo, a pair of body blows that do some damage. Enough that Magga's next wild punch is off the mark.
Gaining confidence the monk lands a spinning kick, followed by a tiger rake. Sensing the tide turning the wrong way, Magga delivers a solid body shot to get back into the contest. The monk can't capitalize and lands only one minor blow with his flurry. Magga's resolve growing sees a big blow rocking the monk's jaw.
The monk now feeling the pain, swings and lands two more glancing blows. Holding her temper in check, Magga reaches back and blasts the monk in the temple, he drops over, the knockout blow delivered.
Magga is victorious!
Beorin Boulderstep |
"That was vicious." the priest of Torag sums it up. Gathering his patron's divine blessings, he beckons everybody to come closer.
"Now that we have gotten everything out of the way, a bit of Mighty Torag's blessings to see you on your way as we go after the one we were here for."
If no further objections, Beorin will channel once. 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5

Boerin's healing is enough to bring the monk back around. He depart with the others. Leaving the slaves behind. One of the guards comments Zamir has the key to there shackles.
I assume you allow them to go. If so, what's next?
A passage leads to a larger room beyond.
Chaosorbit |
Magga peeks down the passage and sees a large hall which is relatively clean and empty. A few racks on the walls contain wooden training weapons, and targets and straw dummies stand here and there. A strange wooden statue stands in front of a large alcove in the south wall. It has three tiger faces on its head, each facing a different direction, and six arms. The statue’s hands hold a variety of weapons; quarterstaff, sai, nunchaku, siangham, and kama. In the back of the alcove is a large wooden door.
Beorin Boulderstep |
"I be guessing that we have to go through that door then." Beorin calmly remarks though he glances at Magga wondering if he should offer the curt rager additional healing......
Chaosorbit |
Shall we move on then, I assume you actually want to go into the room :)
The walls of this large open room still hold the traces of plaster and paint from what was once a large fresco. As you head toward the door, the six armed statue animates and moves into a combat-ready stance.
Amelie Tucker |
Amelie watches the the statue starts to take its stance and shakes her head. "Are all the statues alive in this place? Why can't a statue just be a statue? And who would want to stand like that anyways? Anywho.... are you Zamir?"
Amelie Tucker |
"It's probably just guarding the door. Maybe if we leave it alone it won't attack us." not fully trusting her own words, she nocks an arrow just in case.

Electra does not detect any magical auras, but is certain it's a construct and more precisely an Animated Object.
Electra you have 2 questions you may ask about it.
Beorin Boulderstep |
Hefting his hammer, Beorin grimaces as his warhammer looks absolutely puny when compared to the statue.
"I don't supposed it's charmed to just stay then and defend the door?" he asks with chargin clear in his voice.
"We could just pelt it from where we are."
Beorin Boulderstep |
"You make a good point..." Beorin admits.
His gaze sweeps across the room.
"I am loathe to engage such a creature in these quarters."
Electra Firemind |
@ Electra would like to get defensive abilities and special abilieties.
Beorin Boulderstep |
"I'll be sure to standby healing which I'm sure you'd most assurely need." Beorin remarks dryly as he sees the proud and reckless warrior stride forth to her possible death.
Chaosorbit |
@Electra - Electra knows that these constructs are made very sturdy - hardness 8; no special abilities per se.
@Magga - So how close are you getting, per the map you are still outside of melee range.]
The party contemplates its next move, as Magga takes a step forward, the Animated Object holds its combat ready stance.
Magga |
I'm going to assume somebody would have spoken up by now if they had an objection, so let's get this show started.
Magga steps forward, bangs the butt of her weapon on the stone floor, and shouts, "If you have a head inside that rock, I'm going to cut it out and punt it off that wall upstairs. See how big a splat it makes when it lands."
