It's morning in the forest. This is a forest that was old. Here, you have refuge from the troops of Prince John; the brother of the Duke of the Duchy of Ulek. While not as valorous as his brother, Prince John have received word that his brother has been captured and held for ransom by the people of the Pomarj. They are demanding five thousand gold pieces for him.
As the morning hits the forest, you are all aroused from sleep. Almost time to worry about breakfast.
Tell me what you are doing for breakfast. Perfect time to introduce yourselves in character.

Alkaid Yaffa Leona Aiba |

Alkaid gets up and goes her morning exercise routine before she starts making eggs for breakfast.
As most Clerics of Kord would do in making and keeping their bodies strong.
She's 6 foot 3 with red hair and violet eyes.
Sporting attractive body of an athletic build that is curvier then an average elven woman, and an attractive and innocent like face.
As she sits around the fire eating her scrambled eggs she asks
"So what will we be doing today?"

Landriss Nuellan |

When Landriss wakes he does a series of stretching exercises before running a quick mile around the area in a path that he'd found around camp. Once complete he catches his breath while checking his equipment, oiling and polishing his a;ready sharp blades, just in case they have to be used.
Seeing Alkaid scrambling a couple eggs he asks, "Any chance you're frying up a couple extras? Or I might ask how it's done. I've never taken the time to learn to cook...." He grins with the question, but he doesn't know how to cook.
Landriss is a slender elf, 5' 9", with black eyes and blond hair. Average looks.

Meffa Machezin |

Meffa rubs her eyes and retrieves her glasses from her pack. Rising from her bedroll, she brushes her hair out of her face before tying it back in a ponytail. She takes a moment to stretch and crack her knuckles before striding over to the breakfast discussion.
She cuts a slice from a loaf of bread, holding it over the fire with a pair of tongs, "Oatmeal will go good with this."
Meffa is rather short at 5'0", with pale green-blue skin, emerald-tinged blond hair, and violet eyes. It's difficult to tell her figure due to the thick clothing she wears.

Robyn Veil |

Only in camp was Robyn in her fur. And during their excursion. No one outside of camp and raids have seen her as she truly was. Mostly so that she could go into towns unnoticed. But now was not the time. Now was time for breakfast. And boy was she hungry
"Oats sounds good to me too. As Jed said, good for filling you up quickly"
Robyn has deep red fur with the traditional white and black tips and chest fur of foxes in the area. She was all that tall. 5ft 9', but that was debatable with her ears sticking up. Lush thick tail and a sharp snout.

Alder Tiller |

Still snoring in his bedroll, Alder seems happy just to snooze the entire day away. Unlike most of his kind, he is not an early riser nor out completing chores before the rooster can cry. He happily left that life when he took up the squire position to a noble knight who, unfortunately, was dead. How he ended up with these n'ere'do'wells was more happenstance than choice, but he does not complain as he has food and a place to lay his head at night.
And so, as the others wake and stretch, exercise and eat, the halfling sleeps...contently!
Standing an intimidating 4'8", Alder looks more like someone's pudgy little brother than a full-grown halfling of middle years. With a mop of red-orange hair and a rather prodigious nose, he stands out in a crowd...or would if he were not so small!

Landriss Nuellan |

Landriss looks around at the hungry crowd. "Well Alkaid, I don't think we can hunt for oats and eggs. That will take a trip to a merchant. We better see who's in charge of such things here."

Alkaid Yaffa Leona Aiba |

"If we don't get grains eggs or some more oats in the next day or two, we'll need someone to go hunting so we restock on smoked meats or we'll be out of food. Also we are also nearly out of salt for making salted meats and seasoning."
During Medeival times, fluffy bread was baked in the morning as it would go bad before the next morning,
the double baked bread that was like a rock and lasted days,
Oh and double baked bread was also used as a military ration and could be turned into gruel as well.

I thought you were playing a hairfoot halfling rather than a tallfellow one. I guess you are playing a tallfellow halfling. Still, you have time to reduce his size a foot.

Landriss Nuellan |

Landriss looks up from his breakfast. "Sure. We were discussing supplies. We could do some hunting, but were wondering where to get eggs, oats, and other supplies that will be needed."

Meffa Machezin |

"Sounds like a plan, but what is the occasion for this faire?" Meffa asks, adjusting her glasses.

Landriss Nuellan |

Landriss glances around at the group. "Of course we'll have to be careful and not be recognized."

Meffa Machezin |

"As long as we keep our heads down for the most part, I think we should be fine since all eyes will be on the royals," Meffa comments, shrugging her shoulders.

Alder Tiller |

FInally waking, Alder walks over to the fire and looks to see what is left from the morning breakfast. Listening to the talk around the fire, Alder shrugs.
"SO a faire...sound like an opportunity to make some connections and see where we stand."

Alkaid Yaffa Leona Aiba |

Alkaid has a disgusted look on her face as she explains it.
"Droit du seigneur means 'right of the lord',
but is also known as jus primae noctis 'right of the first night' and can be referred to as prima nocta.
It is a practice where a noble has the right to bed the bride on her wedding night before the husband gets to consummate the marriage."
"I find it a disgusting idea and practice, as a noble should not intrude into a couples married life for bit of fun just because they are a noble.
So now you know why I'm hoping that the faire is not coinciding with a wedding with nobles visiting at the same time."
Using this bit of history to help bump up the possible noble corruption factor.
And also help explain why there might be some noble B4stards around.

Landriss Nuellan |

"There are many human traditions that I don't understand. Maybe if they lived longer than elven children...."

Meffa Machezin |

"I've not heard of such a practice before," Meffa tilts her head inquisitively, "But if it's true and one of these royals intends to partake... Well, they'll have to deal with us!"
Meffa crams the rest of her slice of toast into her mouth and through a wall of twice-baked wheat mumbles something. Pausing for a moment, she takes a second to wash down the toast with some water, then she repeats herself in a more coherent fashion, "No sense dawdling around here, then. Shall we be off?"

Landriss Nuellan |

"Hunting is fine for stews. But we can't hunt for eggs and oats. Is there a regular source for such or do we need to go to a local town to shop?"

Alkaid Yaffa Leona Aiba |

"I'm not sure we have enough time to hunt and visit the faire.
As Hunting takes about a few hours if one does not take into account the time to drain the carcass, remove the offal, and then hauling back to camp and butcher it up. Hunting and then preparing all that meat is a whole day's work.
So if we want to hit the faire we have to depart for it soon, and save the hunting for later.
As we can only get eggs and other grains while in town, that and with so many people and I'd expect some merchants.
Which means we could find some things we'll need and we can shop for lower prices."
The hunting takes more time then one thinks

Meffa Machezin |

Faire time!
Meffa pulls up her hood as to obscure the green and violet tinges to her skin, hair, and eyes. Best not to stand out.

Landriss Nuellan |

Off to the fair then!

EltonJ |

It takes you a day's ride to reach the village. The faire is in swing by the time you get there. You see people dressed in many different costumes. Acrobats are getting acrobatic, and are flying on held chairs or forming human trees. You see people eating fire, and people blowing fire.
You see people walking around. You see jugglers juggling balls, fire sticks, and batons. You see a play being performed!

Meffa Machezin |

A wide grin forms on Meffa's face as she looks around in amazement at the various acts and attractions of the faire, "Wow, people sure are wanting to put on a show for the royals. Impressive."
"I wouldn't mind enjoying the festivities should time permit," she comments, scanning around her companions for their reactions, "Don't you agree?"
