glad to have you back, Irnk!
Irnk, I think, is right... maybe we should investigate the town a little first and maybe observe the castle some before we try to make any inroads. Whether our final path be the front door or some back way in, we'd be wise to know more first."
Irnk, Prodigal of Old Deadeye |
Sorry, Celes. The link I found was broken.
Irnk's comment is based on personal experience/common sense...
Which is to say I've never encountered a small fantasy village that didn't have a church/graveyard of some kind.
Screwing his features in contemplation, Irnk replies to the others query. "Best place for answers in a place like this will be the church."
"If they had time to make a record..." Expression clearing as another thought occurs to him. "So what are Tengu anyway 'jiro?"
Hijiro Hakamura |
"Tengu are bird folk... they don't have wings, but they have heads like, um... what you call crows. They are very wise usually. And checking out the local temple sounds like a good idea. They may have, as you said, made a record of what happened here. Usually priests are the last to abandon a village such as this."
Cele - you can you put a link to the current map so it shows up under your name whenever you post so people don't have to hunt for it each time... makes it easier for all to access.

I tried that link and got "Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist."
Hijiro searches around the building and grounds for any signs of either life or records of those who last were in this place, being careful not to bring down walls or more ceiling on himself or others.

Still says "Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist. Please check the address and try again. ", sorry
"So where else should we look... maybe a town hall, or mayor's house?"
Irnk, Prodigal of Old Deadeye |
Irnk looks about the interior of the Temple, muttering to himself as he does so.
"Hrm...
Desnan temple but it's got a roof."
"If I were the priest where would I hide records..."
untrained Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
At Hijiro's comment, Irnk replies. "F' I remember right, this place used to be a port...
Should have at least some docks & probably on office of some kind for keeping track of ships in & out...
that's where I'd check next."
"We know the Kaijutsu ships left here, maybe they left something of why they left..."
Sienna Vhiski |
There is a space in the address she linked. Remove it and it works. (between the r and the C)
"Do you think finding out why the villages left will help us figure out what happened to Ameiko?" Sienna asks curiously. There doesn't seem to be anything left here at all, we can check for boats I suppose but the only other place I can think of is that castle over there. Actually let me think a sec."
knowledge (history): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Maybe the Kaijutsu had some sort of peace sign or show of diplomacy, maybe if we took that to the castle then even if the enemy were hostile thy might be willing to talk if we extend an olive branch? So to speak anyway."

Sienna knows that a great storm descended on Brinewall and somehow, everyone was slaughtered during this storm. No one really knows what happened, but there are theories abound as to what befell the settlement that might have known success like Korvosa has seen.
