Perception:1d20+2
Already done. That thread is awesome.

Reptilian GM |

You all hurry down the stairs after the singing goblin. Naomi helds a stone that emits some magically conjured light. At the bottom of the stairs the passage becomes two corridors. The widest one heads south while another, to the east, is cluttered with broken bricks and other debris, almost as if this corridor was bricked off until recently. You have little time to ponder all this however. The most perceptive amongst you notice that some other faint voices are humming Darst's song with him! You're obviously not alone down here. Suddenly, someone yells out an order from the south corridor. "Shut up and attack, you idiots!" Shapes in both corridor move forward to attack!
Initiatives:
Goblins and ???: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Our 'heroes': 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Hey, you win! This is a surprise round and Izbahn and Venmirl are surprised. Everyone else can now do a single action (standard or move).

Syeira Iliosana |

Shocked to see more goblins in the basement, her quick mind searches for a possible spell.
"Let's see if their stupid little minds comprehense this!"
Gesturing at the opening next to her she wills steel barbed bars blocking the goblins from going any further.
She casts Silent Image to project wickedly barbed bars in the opening next to her.

Reptilian GM |

As you take another look at your attackers it seems like you have encountered some more goblins. They were probably the ones humming Darst's tunes. You can see 2 of them in the east passage while another is coming from the south one, along with another figure. You can barely make out his features with only Naomi's light guiding the way. He seems taller then the goblin (human-sized) and he's holding a shortbow.
Syeira reacts quickly by using her magic to create fake barbed steel bars that appear to be blocking the east passage.
Darst tumbles south to get behind the apparent leader of the goblins. From this position, he can see that the south corridor continues for about 30 more feet before stopping in a dead end. This wide corridor seems to be used as extra storage as there's a few crates, barrels and bags resting against the walls and in the dead-end. Darst sees the entrance to a 5-foot wide corridor on the east wall, about 15 feet south of his current position. Darst also gets a better the look at the man leading the goblins. He has almond-shaped eyes, short dark hair and pointed ears. He seems slim and agile and isn't wearing any armor.
The only way you could get south of the 'mysterious guy' was if you moved at full speed which augments the acrobatics' DC by 10, not 5. This means 28 is enough to avoid AoO from the goblin but not from the half-elf (for that's what he is). Fortunatly for Darst, you guys won initiative so he's flat-footed and thus unable to make any AoO. Sorry for being so long-winded :P.
Naomi launches a sling bullet at the goblin to the south but the poor illumination make her miss.
Calla moves to the front of the group, ready to defend the spell-users with her pair of axes.
The half-elf raises his bow to shoot at Izbahn but the presence of Darst and his sharp razor make him change his mind. "You'll regret working for them and not for me, little runt!" he says before sending his boot right on the goblin's chin with a swift kick. Darst thinks he's seeing some stars. 3 points of damage and Darst must make a DC 13 fortitude save or drop his war razor and be stunned for one round.
The goblin next to the half-elf reaches into a small pouch and throws its powdery contents to the middle of the group. As soon as it hits the ground, the powder emits an extremely bright and blinding white light. Izbahn, Syeira and Calla must make a DC 13 fortitude save or be blinded for 1 round. Here's Calla's: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7.
Finally, the goblin closest to Syeira's bars moves forward to investigate this new barrier. When he reaches out to touch one of them, his hand passes right throught it! (he rolled a good will save) The goblin snarls and takes a step toward the Varisian, crossing the illusion. His companion has already disappear from view by moving south however.
It's your turn.
Current condition and hp:
Calla is blinded. hp: 10/15
Darst hp: 6/10 (may be stunned)
Izbahn has mage armor. hp: 9/9 (may be blinded)
Naomi hp: 5/10
Syeira hp: 5/7 (may be blinded)
Venmirl hp: 12/14

Naomi Fairchild |

"Working with you?" Naomi whispers harshly. Then she notices the shortbow.
"You're the one! You caused all of this!" She yells as she loads her sling again and, with a prayer to Erastil, Calistria, and Desna, flings the stone at the man.
Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 I can't see the map right now(school blocks the site), so it's at -4 if he's in melee.
Damage:1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Nooooo! (T-T)

Darst |

Oh, boy, Fortitude. Almost as good as Will.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Yesssss!
Darst shakes off his daze and slashes at the half-elf.
Finally, I get to attack. Fear my 1d3-1 damage!
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22, damage (if applicable)1d3 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
He then tumbles south.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Finally, I can just move at half speed!

Izbahn Douvurk |

Fort save 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Izbahn yells a vile oath after the blinding flash hits his face, and he just barely gets his hand up to shield him from the light.
He yells at the half elf, "Where is Amekio?" as he throws a minor cantrip at the leader of the group. Cast Flare at the half-elf Fort save DC 13 or be Dazzled.

Reptilian GM |

Naomi sends another stone toward the bowman but he's moving around to much by fighting Darst and she misses.
Darst hasn't moved yet so yeah he was in melee. Just fyi, since he's more then 20 ft. away from the light, he's in dim light and so you have also have a 20% miss chance.
Darst shakes off his daze and slashes at the half-elf. The razor catches him on the cheek and a thin red line of blood can now be seen on the half-elf's face. Darst then moves away from him without problem.
Almost mirroring the mage's action, the half-elf shields his eyes and avoids the effect of Izbahn's spell. He seems more destabilized by what the wizard said. "Ameiko? So that's why you're here ... Inviting her was a mistake."
Venmirl once again enchants his trusty morningstar and move forward to protect Izbahn.
Calla is blinded and unable to do much. She adopts a defensive posture, ready to block anything that she can hear or feel coming.
Syeira is up.

Reptilian GM |

The goblin next to the half-elf reaches into a small pouch and throws its powdery contents to the middle of the group. As soon as it hits the ground, the powder emits an extremely bright and blinding white light. Izbahn, Syeira and Calla must make a DC 13 fortitude save or be blinded for 1 round.
I'll roll for Syeira too. 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19. Oh, lucky :).
Having avoided the effect of the flashing powder, Syeira cracks her whip at the nearest goblin. She deftly pulls his feet off the ground and sends him crashing on the floor.

Reptilian GM |

I believe it is the goblins' turn, then.
Well, yes, except for you.
Now free of Darst's distractions, the half-elf turns his attention to the rest of the group. He pulls on his bow and shoots at the most obvious threat: Venmirl. The inquisitor tries to deflect the arrow with the thick skull of his klar but he's simply not quick enough. The projectile buries itself deep into the man's left shoulder (7 points of damage). Venmirl simply hasn't time to recover before the closest goblin comes at him, waving his small dogslicer. The little creature slashes at his leg, cutting him just above knee (2 more points of damage).
Darst sees a goblin coming from the corridor east of him. His fellow goblin comes running at him, his dogslicer raised high. "We better, we cut you." he tells Darst in the goblinoid tongue.
The prone goblin is quick to get up and to try to cut the one that pulled him down. Syeira ducks to her left, taking cover by the stone wall. The goblin's dogslicer only cuts a chip off the stone corner (Syeira has cover since the goblin his attacking 'through' a corner).
It's your turn.
Current condition and hp:
Calla hp: 10/15
Darst hp: 6/10
Izbahn has mage armor. hp: 9/9
Naomi hp: 5/10
Syeira hp: 5/7
Venmirl's morningstar has magic weapon hp: 3/14
The map ETA will be around 5 pm :P

Darst wrote:How close are the goblins? He's in melee range, he just couldn't attack you this round.
Ah. Then my tumble check:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12EDIT: Darst stops and tries to pick up an interesting bug in his tumble.
If I can take a five-foot step prior to the tumble, he can actually manage that with no +10 DC. Not that I expect that to make a difference.
Although my AC is 22 now, so I'll take my chances. :P

Izbahn Douvurk |

Reptilian, is the half-elf in melee with anyone, if not then he will get a Club Express Sandwich, courtesy of Izbahn, he he. If he is, he will attack the closest goblin not in melee.
Izbahn knows the half-elf is the leader, so he tries to draw attention to himself, by launching his club at him. Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4, damage 1d6 ⇒ 6
Edit, looks like the express sandwich is running late, he he
EDIT fixed quote above, not that it matters, he he.

Darst |

"Ow!"
I assume my edit to your quote was accurate, by the way.EDIT: Say, I feel another song coming on...

Darst |

Suddenly, Darst starts singing again.
"Elfy goes and shoots his sticks!
Bastard child gets his kicks!
But he no more than stupid mutts!
Darst's good knifesy make some cuts!
Leap and slash, run and stabbed!
Bring nasty elfy down a tabbed!
His poor sister is been nabbed!
By his selfy, traitor elfy!"
Next level I'm putting some ranks into Perform (sing). For realism, and so his companions can stop plugging their ears.
EDIT: Though I am kind of feeling guilty that I've sung more than the actual bard has. :D

Oh, right. that's a tough call. Guess I'll have to practice bagpipes, too, to keep it higher.

Reptilian GM |

Here's the Map for round 2. It doesn't include the movement of those who have already acted for this round.

Darst |

Darst wrote:Oh, right. that's a tough call. Guess I'll have to practice bagpipes, too, to keep it higher.Or take Improved Unarmed Strike so you can kick while playing the pipes.
Since a kick would have about as much effect as the razor, that would be handy., Of course, kicking doesn't have a nice 18-20 crit threat. :)

Naomi Fairchild |

Taking a chance, Naomi loads her light stone into the sling and launches it at the goblin heckling Venmirl.
Attack:1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 3 - 4 = 1
Damage:1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Why do I keep getting 1's!? T.T
Chance the sling stone is destroyed(I don't know how you'd lose something shedding that much light) is 50%, calling low to keep it:1d100 ⇒ 8
At least we can still see...

Reptilian GM |

Darst jumps back, grabs a little bug, dodges a dogslicer cut and sings as he makes his way south. There, he jumps atop the tallest pile of crates. Perhaps this high position will advantage him.
Both Izbahn's and Naomi's attack fails, perhaps because Venmirl's large frame is hard to attack around.
Calla rubs her eyes, slowly recovering her sight. Looking around, she sees that Syeira might need some help against the goblin attacking her. She takes a few steps and tries to cut the goblin with her axes. Main hand attack roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22, damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5; off-hand: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17, damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2. Edit: Crit? 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8, damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9. No crit.
Calla pummel the goblin with powerful axe blows. The little humanoid is wounded and, as he's push back, he stumbles on the bricks and debris that litter the floor. He falls down and Calla finishes him by burying her smaller axe in his head.
Venmirl and Syeira haven't acted yet.

Naomi Fairchild wrote:Calistria is the fickle one, not Desna. Guess all that time in the school of hard magic's left little time for religion. So you follow 3 gods, all at once, that pretty much defines fickle, he he
I pray to them occasionally, not follow. The Family's Ancestors are enough to grant my spells.

Venmirl of Skoan-Quah |

After taking two vicious hits, Venmirl decides he would help his friends the best if he wasn't dead. He takes a 5' step to the side to get away from the goblin in front of him, then holds his totem for a moment while a wave of healing covers his body.
Cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Reptilian GM |

I pray to them occasionally, not follow. The Family's Ancestors are enough to grant my spells.
The way I see it, Naomi believes the Family's Ancestor are granting her powers. Now, who exactly is granting her powers and how is it done can remain a mystery for now.
Venmirl takes a few steps back, away from the goblin. He calls upon his totem spirit and some of his wounds are healed.
With the goblin attacking her defeated, Syeira hesitates, not sure what her next move should be.
Now that Venmirl is partly out of view of the half-elf, he instead turn his attention toward the now exposed wizard. He pulls out yet another of his deadly arrows and sends it at Izbahn. The projectile punches through the mage's magical barrier, wounding him badly (4 points of damage).
The goblin to the north jumps after Venmirl, slashing wildly at the shoanti. Venmirl blocks a few blows but he's a bit too slow on one parry and gets a cut on his weapon hand (3 points of damage). To the south, another goblin pursues Darst, futilely hacking away at the friendly goblin. Darst, deeply focused on defense, is simply too fast.
It's your turn.
Current condition and hp:
Calla hp: 10/15
Darst hp: 6/10
Izbahn has mage armor. hp: 5/9
Naomi hp: 5/10
Syeira hp: 5/7
Venmirl's morningstar has magic weapon hp: 6/14
PS I like the new Darst avatar :).

Izbahn Douvurk |

Time to be a hero, he he.
Izbahn gasps as the arrow enters his shoulder. He grips his club, and sees if he can just finish off this goblin who jumped in front of him, a clear path will be opened up to get to the half elf archer. He mutters a quick oath and swings...
Attack club on the goblin in front of him, 1d20 ⇒ 10, damage 1d6 ⇒ 6

Darst |

Um...I was moving north. Didn't I say that?
EDIT: Ah, I see. I meant moving over the crates north of me to hassle Tsuto, but I wasn't exactly clear, so you assumed the opposite. Sadly, this could have been avoided if I had noticed you said 'south' earlier.
I guess we should leave things as they are, and I'll try to remember to speak clearly next time. Sorry for the confusion.
Darst, who had been concentrated on singing, realizes he's moved in the opposite direction from his destination. He quickly tumbles off the crats, then hurries off through the unexplored hallway.
Tumble check, moving so that I'm one square west and two north of the goblin. Then, I'm moving 30 feet east. 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Oh, and thanks for the compliment, I'd been waiting for a more fitting avvy for a while now.

Reptilian GM |

The goblin dodges Izbahn's club and the little creature laughs a bit as the weapon only hits air. He quickly loses his smirk (and his life) when Venmirl brutally smashes the side of his face with his trusty morningstar. Izbahn cringes as some of the goblin's blood splatters to his face.
Once again escaping the blade of his fellow goblin, Darst makes his way to the end of the eastern hallway. He passes by 2 closed wooden doors on the south wall before the passage takes a 90 degrees turn to the north. This way north seems to have been bricked off as there are some broken bricks and other debris on floor here, just like in the eastern corridor at the bottom of the stairs. In fact, it soon becomes apparent that this corridor completes the circle and leads back to the basement's entrance. Indeed, from where he's now, Darst can see the body of the goblin that was felled by Calla. There are also two more closed doors on the east wall of the northern corridor. Some light filters through the bottom of the south most door.
Sorry about the mix up Kobold Cleaver. I should have asked for clarifications as I wasn't sure what you meant. Would you guys like if I'd put numbers and letters on the full length of the grid for future maps (ie "I move to G13" or something like that)?
Also ... what makes you think this is Tsuto? :P

Naomi Fairchild |

I actually liked the Golden Goblin avvy better, because it seemed to represent Darst's um.. bright outlook.
"I can see you now you worthless peice of..." Naomi trails off as she lets another bullet fly.
Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Damage:1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
I beleive I only have 2 or 3 bullets left, so I'll probably close when/if Venmirl drops the goblin. I say if because it could decide to run, not because I don't think Venmirl can handle it!
EDIT: Yes, finally some damage!

Venmirl of Skoan-Quah |

I actually liked the Golden Goblin avvy better, because it seemed to represent Darst's um.. bright outlook.
Yes, I liked the old one too. I just grew to know you that way, so it's sentimental I guess...OK, back into character. Reptilian, I think it would be good (and easier) to just put numbers on the multiple creatures with the same avatar.

Well, the last attack did drop the goblin so I'm going to assume you're shooting at Ts ... I mean the half-elf.
I'm still waiting on Syeira.

Naomi Fairchild |

Well, the last attack did drop the goblin so I'm going to assume you're shooting at Ts ... I mean the half-elf.
The half-el.. no I mean Tsuto. Ah man I had it right the first time... How about we call him dead and get this over with? I write his new name with my dagger and then punctuate it with a sling bullet![/ooc]
