Unknown Reptilian

With Izbahn's suggestion, you all take another look at the Glassworks. It seems all the windows are ground level, meaning that the building only has a single story even if the ceiling must be very high in certain areas. You also notice that the roof of the building's circular parts are crowned by domed skylights. These don't seem obscured by curtains or anything else. There's four of these.

Darst grins. "I has idea."

How hard would it be to climb this building? Unfortunately, it looks like Climb is still strength reliant, so I wouldn't be good at it, but Darst will probably try anyways.

Male Human Shoanti Inquisitor 3

Venmirl sees Darst eying the windows up top and, against his first reaction, thinks it may help to boost the little fella up.

"Darst, if you plan to climb up there then get on my shoulders and I'll give you a boost."

Darst turns to Venmirl. He stares at him for a moment. Then his grin widens.

"Throw I up there!" he says eagerly. "Up on roof!"

Unknown Reptilian

It looks pretty difficult as the walls are smooth. A rope and grappling hook would help a lot.
Edit: I'm taking about climbing here, not tossing dwarv... err goblins

Don't tell the elf about this. Um,. I mean 'sheriff'.

Male Human Shoanti Inquisitor 3

Looking up at the wall, Venmirl sees there isn't much for our little goblin friend to grab on to once hoisted. He takes out his hook and rope and tosses it on to the roof.

Unknown Reptilian

With a swift and strong move, Venmirl tosses his grappling hook which lands on the roof with a loud clang. He pulls on the rope until the hook catches something, securing the rope. It hold fast even after he gives it a few tugs.

Male Goblin Rogue 3

Darst sulks.

Male Human Shoanti Inquisitor 3

Venmirl looks down at Darst "What are you sulking for? Get your ass up there! You look more light on your feet than any of us."

Female Human Cleric lv3

""If you need motivation," Naomi whispers to Darst, "I did prepare the spell that calls water to where I want it..."

Darst shrieks and runs to the rope. He starts climbing.

Climb 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Darst is actually only a mediocre climber. Venmirl is WAY better.

And if I fall, my Acrobatics means I splat less.

Unknown Reptilian

Venmirl is also bigger and meaner, hehe.

Whatever it be by skill or fright, Darst clambers up the rope very quickly. It almost seems as if he could have made it without the rope. In any case, the goblin is now on the roof and the northmost skylight is the closest to him.

Darst leaps over to the skylight and peeks in.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Female Human Cleric lv3

Naomi watches with a sly grin as Darst scrambles up to the roof.

"Maybe I really should pray for that spell, in case he ever learns I was lying just now..."

Izbahn, who had been keeping an eye out for other passersby, glances back at Naomi, and smiles, "You certainly have a way with him, although he needs more water than your goddess currently provides to clean him up. I thought cats were bad!"

Female Human Cleric lv3

"I may venerate Erastil, Desna, and Calistria because they help my family, but understand that my Family's ancestors are the source of my power. They have a vested interest in keeping me alive you see, and they allow for a easier way to view the world, not blinded by a diety's power."

Izbahn flashes back to those last desperate moments, 2 days earlier, when he was struggling to keep her alive. He remembered...trying to stop her blood flowing...at the time he thought he had failed...but then she came back to life, without his help. He sees a valuable opportunity to learn more about this strangely captivating woman.

"I would like to learn more about this...Family...sometime, if that is OK with you, Naomi."

Female Human Cleric lv3

"I'd be glad to tell you of it sometime and maybe, Desna's luck permitting, I'll be able to introduce you to them one day."

To be fair, she didn't come back to life on her own. She stopped bleeding long enough for the local religious leader(whose name escapes me right now) to bring her back. Don't feel to bad, Izzy.

Yeah, I couldn't make a Heal check to save your life, he he.

I'm gonna need a stealth check for that peek. Also, sorry I couldn't reply earlier, the one machine I can access internet from at work is having problems.

Excellent, time to show how overpowered goblins are.

I take part of the blame, I really regret minmaxing as much as I did.

Unknown Reptilian

Darst:
The skylight looks down on a long hall where glass is apparently melted and shaped into the desired forms. Indeed, a long furnace burns along the southeast wall of the equally long room. Two more of the skylights look down on this room. However, what surprises Darst is the occupants of the room: goblins! Lots of the little creatures are scurrying around the room, mostly amusing themselves by either breaking some glass or by defiling the bodies of several dead humans that litter the floor. These bodies are in various stages of dismemberment, as some goblins throw legs and arms into the furnace or pour molten glass on the corpses. Darst could only have a quick look at the room as some of the goblins are looking up at the ceiling, perhaps alerted by something. Darst doesn't think he has been spotted, however.

Male Human Shoanti Inquisitor 3

I'm off to Vegas for a few days. Feel free to play my character while I'm gone. I will return Tuesday night. Cheers!

I just saw "The Hangover" .. whatever you do .. don't do what *they* did .. or perhaps .. ;)

Male Goblin Rogue 3

Darst scampers to the edge of the roof. "Goblins!" he hisses.

"Goblins, inside? We need to get in there! Darst, where are they right now?"

Male Goblin Rogue 3
Izbahn Douvurk wrote:

"In north room! They eating dead people!"

Izbahn turns to the group and says, "Well, we know where the goblins are based from, but how will we get in there? My advice is to try the south entrance, maybe it will be less guarded."

Unknown Reptilian

Both entrances at the SW end of the building are also locked. The one leading to the beach might be less visible from the street, however.

"We could try the beach entrance, it might be less guarded."

"Or I is smash skylight and jump through!" Darst says excitedly.

I may not be here tomorrow, just so you all know.

No problem, we will carry on without you if need be.

Izbahn considers it for a moment, and asks "Are you sure, Darst? It will take us time to meet up with you, you will be on your own until then."

And I'm back... and still alive!

"Are the doors locked? Can any of us pick the lock?"

Are you seriously letting me do this? What kind of friend are you?

Kidding.
Darst grins and sneaks back to the skylight.
Stealth 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34
He glances down, trying to determine how high up he is.
Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Unknown Reptilian

Darst, do you want to do this through one of the 3 skylights leading into the large (and, from what you saw, goblin infested) glassmaking room? There's still another unexplored skylight, crowning the circular southern part of the building. In either case, they are about 15 feet of the ground.

Calla grips her axe strongly. "I could always 'unlock' one of the doors."

"Yes, Calla, but we want to try to surprise the goblins, if possible. Besides, we may have to pay for the damages." He finishes with a smile on his face.

Female Human Cleric lv3

Naomi finds something funny, and can't help but laugh softly.

"We may need to commit a crime -breaking and entering- to help the mayor and sheriff!"

Naomi Fairchild wrote:

Izbahn glances at Naomi, as he was watching the progress of Darst as he makes his way on the roof. "I think they would forgive the charges once we hand them some goblin corpses in payment. Whoever runs this Glassworks place has a lot to answer for!"

Let's see...Darst's judement skills suck here. He'll take the one closest to where his friends are.

Darst grins, pulling back. "Okay!" he calls. "If I's take too long, no bother waiting!"
He leaps through the skylight, ignoring the glass, and falls to the room below.
Acrobatics 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 to reduce falling damage and to try to land in an unthreatened spot nearby a door. I'm also assuming he takes a bit of damage on the glass. If that gets too complicated, just stick me in a random square.
If I still have any movement left, I'm going to try and tumble to the closest door. A few Acrobatics checks, not counting any penalties I might get here.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Some decent rolls, but my confidence isn't too high. Nice knowing you, guys... ;)
