Absently swatting dirt from her pants Sunny simply starts walking.

"Well...were wus we gon'a have a look-see at next?" She asks.

Survival:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

"C'mone! That-a-way!" She waives an arm in a circle and sets off in a determined type of fashion. "I be sure there's a river over yonder."

*Bump an' a bit of motion t' get things movin' along. (^_^)

NPCing Nerik a little..

Nerik grabs Sunny's shoulders, spins her in the direction of where they left Caelin and the horses, and says, "That is the direction we're heading right now." And he give her a little push to get her started moving again.

...moving things along a little...

As the group comes around the last bend in the path, they see that neither Caelin, nor the horses are where they should be.

"Are you sure this is the right spot?"

Perception:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17(Looking for a mess of horse feet holes.)

Well, the DM can tell us whether we are in the right spot. (^_~)

Sunny simply unlimbers her x-bow, crouches and scans the surrounding terrain. "If'n t'is, then we's in a world o' trouble..." She says quietly.

Perception:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12Looking around in general paranoia. =)

Checking the area, the group determines there are no additional tracks except those leading to the west. It would appear Caelin made off with the horses and is heading to the west...

Male Half (Dark)Elf Rogue/Fighter (3)

'It would seem we are on foot!'

Male Blue Scaled Kobold Gestalt Cleric 3/Ranger 3

Looking at the dark elf, with wary eyes, K'tzhang replies shyly, "We should follow the tracks, I'm sure we'll catch your horses up. Once thieves think they have got away, they often get lackadaisical and slow down, allowing pursuers the chance to catch them up. These tracks look easy to follow, but let me just check."

Survival(Track) 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

"Yeah, seems like that is the way to go for now. I would like my horse back."

"Aye, I want the horsies back an' all! Since we've left a lot o' stuff on'a critters..." Sunny begins resolutely walking. "I dun't know, maybe they got spooked by a skunk, or somat...." She grumbling-ly ponders as she begins walking after their mounts.....and Caelin

K'tzhang:
You notice not sign of struggle, except for getting all the horses together so they can be lead away by a single rider.

Donk doesn't appear to realize anything is wrong, and is just standing there, waiting for Polson to tell him what to do.

Nerik, without a word, begins walking to the west.

hehe, Sulna didn't have a horse until a few, short hours ago....in game, of course ;)

Male Tiefling - outsider (native) [demon-spawn] rogue/sorcerer [bloodline: undead] 3

Seething with rage, muttering in Abyssal. "Caelin is going to meet the maker soon." clenching and unclenching his fists, as begins striding westward.

Just a note, the group doesn't have to track down Caelin. I can guarantee you will see him again, eventually.

Except for Donk and K'tzhang, the group finds traveling through this terrain far more tiring than expected. After only a few hours you feel the need to stop and rest for the night.

Order for night watch?

How much bonus does an Elf's low-light sight give? I'll take first or last, say? (^_^)

Male Blue Scaled Kobold Gestalt Cleric 3/Ranger 3

What, surely its not time to stop the hunt? K'tzhang looks disappointed, but hearing the group wants a place to survive the night, decides to help by looking for a site to camp...

..as the group make camp, K'tzhang remarks to Sonny "Perhaps I should lookout for you in the night, say between midnight and 2 or 3am. You know I can see in the dark, which may be helpful around then."

Survival 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 to find a suitable site to camp and defend.

Sunny puts an arm around K'tzhang's shoulder.

"Ye have t' know, luv. Folks o' different kinds operate on different times. M'self, I do well in'a early mornin' an' such, not so rash hot in'a evein's or night time." She grins after her explanation.

"Thank'e as well fer that volunteerin', mate!" She continues to smile at him, "Ye c'n be assured I'll be sleepin' better knowin' yer lookin' out fer me!" With a friendly further pat she moves off and helps finish off getting the campsite ready for the evening. A task that takes lees time than normal, as a large amount of the groups equipment is still upon the horses that they are chasing.

Jus' let me know when I need t' be makin' me Perception checkers. (^_^)

"I'll watch last."

No worries dude. Please check discussion.

Male Half (Dark)Elf Rogue/Fighter (3)

Polson is happy to take first watch as I assume Donk will be sat with him!

Male Blue Scaled Kobold Gestalt Cleric 3/Ranger 3

K'Tzhang is uneasy when Donk is on watch and does not fall into a deep slumber, he does take his watch later as required.

Working ahead a little in case I don't have much time to update.

As the light of day dims and the party makes camp, Donk says,

Undercommon:
"Where Caelin?"

K'tzhang:
You hear the flutter of wings overhead.

Nerik:
You dream of flaying the layers of flesh from Caelin using an exquisitely crafted dagger.

Sulna:
As you wake for your watch, you notice the spot you slept is far warmer than it should be. Looking around quickly, you notice nothing malevolent in sight.

Sunny:
You dream of a sailboat flying above a sea of fire being chased by an army of dragon-riding antipaladins. When you wake in the morning, you notice the ground is warm and comfortable.

Male Blue Scaled Kobold Gestalt Cleric 3/Ranger 3

Hearing something seemingly in the air, K'Tzhang gets up and looks around, scanning the skies and around about.

Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

K'tzhang:
You notice the light of the campfire flashing off the wings of what you think is a butterfly, but you can't see well enough, mostly due to the light of the campfire.

With the coming of the new day's dawn, eventually Sunny stirs. She sits up in her blanket and looks around blearily, but smiles, even as the blanket slides off one brown shoulder. With a wave of the same bare arm she calls,

"Mornin' t'all!" She grins at K'tzhang. "I done slept a treat, thank'e muchly fer watchin' out fer me." She shifts about then stands, the blanket becoming a draped 'ponho' about her frame.

"Now, where's th' nearest dash o' water? A bod could do with a splash or two t' wake 'em up an' wash off th' last days grime." She ponders and ambles off in the direction of the nearest creek, tugging the blanket about herself so as not to trip over its folds. Bare brown feet skipping across the forest loam.

Male Tiefling - outsider (native) [demon-spawn] rogue/sorcerer [bloodline: undead] 3

*Not needing to sleep, Nerik wanders around camp, chuckling under his breath, muttering in abyssal.*

Sunny comes to a halt in-front of K'tzhang and kneels down infront of the Kobold,

"So? Would ye be knowin' th' lay o' th' land enough, like, t' be pointin' a bod in'a right direction to where there be at least enough water abouts with which t' be properly be bathin' in?" She asks, looking at him innocently. At least it appears her intentions are innocent, as her seemingly over large blue eyes gaze into his face hopefully.

Okay, since nobody is really reacting to the events of the night..

k'tzhang:
You know of a river about an hours ride south, probably two hours walking. There is the possibility of finding a smallish pool of water from snowmelt, but it would probably be quicker to head for the river, unless you got really lucky and found on pool.

*Bows* Well, I int' sure how t' go about makin' somat o' whut were seemin' t' be nun't but a dream....>_>

At K'tzhang's explanation Sunny frowns and pouts. "Gee that's a tad long way. Indeed I sure do miss havin' them hay burners un'er me seat..." She sighs and stands, turning to the rest of the group,

"Well, should we have a slight detour an' take our fill o' water afore racin' off after our freind an th' nags whut he's done taken a hold of?" She asks looking around, trying to discern who still has what equipment, "I know I done left me water skins on m' saddle..." She absently rubs her posterior with a hand

"Though actually gettin' used t' me rump in'a saddle be another thing...." She adds quietly.

Back in Portsmouth now, so the holidays are almost over, hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. Normal service should be resuming, especially when I get back to work on the 5th.

K'thang is awakened in the morning and quietly meditates and prays before breakfast. As the others awake, he thinks on last nights watch, "Any of you seen a night butterfly before, strange could have swore I saw one last night, but I don't know. None of you saw anything like that, or even heard of it?"

He listens to Sunny and explains where the river is, but he may be able to find a pool of snow melt.

Survival 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 to find water

Wishin' th' same t' yerself and yours, o'course! (^_^) Hopein' th' comin' o' th' new year looks to be bringin' every one good tidin's! (^_^)

Sunny squints through one eye as she tilts her head sideways at K'tzhang's words,

"Night Flutterbye? I in't never heard o' such a critter. Nor did I do more'n dream a...dream m'self..." Her voice catches as fragments of her nights somnambulist intellect wanderings flicker through her mind's eye.

As she listens to K'tzhangs words about where and how much water might be about, she sighs. "Aye, well. Lets go see t' this water then."

As the group stumbles around look for a pool of water, they come across the body of a nude half-drow.

Heal DC 10 to determine if he's alive or dead.

Heal Check:1d20 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 = 7(Though she has no skill in it, but she is a Bard. So maybe that will help?)

Seeing the prone figure, Sunny races over to it and kneels down, looking for signs of life.

EDIT:Fixed. Sorry bout that. Though Heal ran on knowing, not Wisdom.

"Dang it K'tzhang! I be a Bard, not a Healer!"

Yeah, you have a -2 Wisdom modifier, not +2, so your Heal check was a 7, not an 11.

Missed my edit window. So, casting a Healing spell might or might not be a good thing...?

Male Blue Scaled Kobold Gestalt Cleric 3/Ranger 3

K'tzhang catches Sunny up, "Let me take a look."

Heal check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 if dead, do I know how the drow died? If not dead, then will stablize the drow by taking a 10 on a heal check..17=10+7.

K'tzhang is quickly able to determine the half-drow is alive, if just barely. Upon closer examination, it's obvious this person was attacked by creatures using weapons and left here to die slowly.

Sorry for a bit of a digression, but what is the person wearing? Besides them being beat up, how banged up is other things connected/associated with them?

"What the heck happened to him?"
Assuming male since it wasn't stated above...
"Is he alive?"
Sulna looks around to see if there are any threats still nearby?

Yes, male.

"Sunny, you might not want to touch that, you don't know where it has been."

Male Blue Scaled Kobold Gestalt Cleric 3/Ranger 3

K'tzhang, happy with what he's done, turns to the others, "That'sth better, he won't die now. I think I should heal him now, you ready to catch him if he triesth to make a run for it, I'm never sthure if he'll thank me or not?" Holding a holy symbol before him he seems to squeak and sing a draconic chant, followed by a soothing light that comes fromm the centre of the symbol.

Channel positive energy, 1d6 ⇒ 4 HPs to all around, including the drow.

Ah, sorry an' I am fer that misun'erstandin'. Nekkid feller, got it. *bows*

As K'tzhang's power flows over them Sunny giggles, "Heh, that tickles." Though she also favours Nerik with a cheerful grin at his words.

She slip her blanket from around her shoulders and drapes it over the figure.

Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19(Too see how much of the fellow's wounds heal under K'tzhang's spell)

"If'n folk's think t'is all right, I 'cn be addin' a healers touch t' th' bloke?" She asks quietly, being more intent on not startling their new found ward.

Male Half-Elf (Drow) Fighter (Crossbow) 3/Rogue 3 (Sniper)

Just waiting for instructions if I can start posting from black fang

Belros is awake and very cold, with 1 hit point.

Male Blue Scaled Kobold Gestalt Cleric 3/Ranger 3

Kneeling next to the awakening drow, K'tzhang looks down with compassion, "Don't be alarmed, you were dying here. We found you near to death, wounds all over your body, you are safe for the moment. What happened that you were left here so? Are you feeling well enough to get up?" The kobold helps the creature to his feet, as he helps wrap his body in Sunny's blankets. "You are cold, we should start a fire."

Turning to his companions, "Can we make a fire to warm ..." the kobold returns to his patient, "Oh!, do you have a name we can call you?". Then, continuing, "Please can someone get some fire wood and get the fire going?"

"Pshaw! An' how far are we from where we left camp? If'n it be close enough, we back track and take advantage of whut we done set up afore. If'n this water hole ye were leadin' us to be closer, I say we press on t' that an' make a fire there." She smiles at their new foundling as she takes a step backwards, away from him.

"I must say, ye wear me blankets right well." She give the new Elf a wink. Though before she or any one else does anything major, Sunny closes her eyes and casts a 'Cure Light Wounds' upon Belors, her voice raised in a calming, lilting tune.

Sure Light Wounds:1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

"There ye go, that should buck ye up some more." Something about what she has just said strikes the gum-nut brown Elf as funny and she giggles as she prepares to move off in whatever direction the party chooses.

"We c'n al-a-ways throw his arms over a couple o' shoulders t' help him find his feet. Least ways as we move on, hey?" She asks, again giving a wink.

"C'mone then, lets be movin'."

Geeze! Lucky I am that weren't an attack roll! Still, in a way t'is better t' get the ones out'a th' way now...:P

Still in shock of finding himself naked and surrounded by strangers

Well thank you for your kindness I suppose, but no help comes free or without a catch as he looks at them with suspicion

My name is Belros and by what name shall I call thee? as he looks at the Kobold and then the rest.

Sunny sighs, "Ye in't nekkid. That be me best an' only winter weight blankey draped about yer bod." She winks as she places her hands upon her hips, "Th' closest me name comes across in th' shared speak is 'Sunny', so's that's whut I be happy fer folks t' call me. T'is better t' have a nick name whut I c'n look to, than ignore some one when they can't say a proper name right." She smiles,

"Belros...." Sunny seems to almost roll the word about on her tongue, "That does have th' sound of a nice name..."

"Hi Belros. I'm Sulna."
Sulna pulls out his pack and starts digging into it.
"I have some clothes you can wear if you'd like."
Sulna hands Belros a clean traveler's outfit.
