"Actually destroying the mites may not just be fun..haha..but may actually help in our diplomacy with the Sootscales. The two have been at war for a year or so now. Bet those lil lizards w'd welcome some help for there cause. We should seek out Sootscale..that'll be the name of there chief. Thiis here tribe has changed it's name countless times over the years, and it's always the name of there current chief. Maybe we can convince Sootscale to stop his aggresion and give us some intel on the bandits for our help in his mite problem"

Erian El'ranelen |

Erian looks through what Oleg has to offer. "Let's see...I'll give you 12 silver weight for those arrows." Looking to the group, he offers, "We can split them between any archers as appropriate. Anyone up for that antitoxin? I can contribute a full ten measure of gold. Or Oleg, perhaps you can extend us a bit more credit? How about any rope or other building supplies we might offer to the kobolds?"
Once the items are taken care of, Erian is ready to go!

Constance Superne |

"Well, I've never dealt with Kobolds, but I some experience in courtly matters... if no one else wishes to do so, I'll take the lead on the negotiations." Constance ponders for a moment.
"You know, maybe we should try and kill a mite or two, but not that many, to show the kobolds that we mean well. That coupled with our "gifts" should get them to at least listen to us. We can then tell them we will kill mites to show we are being sincere. Go kill a few mites and voila, new kobold friends."
Constance then turns to Oleg. "I'd like to buy 5 of those trail rations and a torch if you don't mind... just in case."
"And if anyone needs a ride, I have room for one more on my horse as well."

Caelin O'Hern |

"Some rations would be grand!" says Polson "...and a ride from whoever is offering with many thanks."
After getting ready all his battle gear and checking all his equipment"I agree with Polson, I'll just need some rations for an easy travel, tho I could hunt for some with Erastil aid if need arises, and I could also have a ride if someone can take me" smiles and looks to see if someone would lend a hand or a horse.

Caelin O'Hern |

Erian pats his horse and looks at Caelin, "Tell you what, you buy lunch, and I'll give you a ride..." He turns his head a bit to the side, then continues, "but this does not in any way mean we're courting." He then chuckles at his own little joke...
Luahgs out loud at such a good joke, even if it was at his expense "No problem with me, just keep your mind focused on the way and I'll buy lunch" chuckles and nods in thanks to Erian

Gaelen The Ironfist |

"Well, I've never dealt with Kobolds, but I some experience in courtly matters... if no one else wishes to do so, I'll take the lead on the negotiations." Constance ponders for a moment.

I dissagree. Why should we make kobolds our friends? I say he kill the mites and THEN kill the Kobolds. All I care about it getting paid. Gaelen doesn't seem to like the idea of making friends with Kobolds and it seems money is much more important to him. Besides, these creatures are known as coward and backstabbers. I wouldn't feel comfortable in befriending them.

"I concur that trusting Kobolds may be a bad move long term but am happy to see how the negotiations fair. Mites, I care not for them."

Erian listens to Gaelen and Polson voice their concerns. "Now Gaelen, you surely see the irony in cautioning any diplomacy with the kobolds while simultaneously advocating their extermination? I wonder, if you had lived a life under the shadow of fear that bigger creatures were always looking to exterminate you, how would you react to such creatures?" With a shrug, he adds, "Besides, if you're truly just interested in coin, then brokering a deal with the kobolds is far more likely to result in immediate profit with less personal cost or risk. Unless you plan on hanging around here for years to see if the kobolds break their word, then it shouldn't really matter how trustworthy they are longterm..."

Caelin O'Hern |

Smirks at the comment of the kobolds "Well I can't say I'm fond of kobolds but I HATE MITES and if they are fighting with kobolds I'll help the kobolds"shurgs and looks at Polson "It's like judging Polson for his dokkalfar half, well know for torture, evil and rest of things I could come up with, tho never seen one my self and I embrace Polson as a brother like all of you, so I won't judge the kobolds, but the mites... that's another things... looks at Erain "Oi! You tell me when yer ready so we can leave" chuckles and laugh "Hands on the bridle and eyes on the road Erian" laughs out loud remembering Erian's joke.

Tam Hale |

Tam walks her still recovering mare for a bit as the party heads out of the trading post. The young woman scans the horizon quietly before giving Stalker a look of inquiry. She glaces to the others, "Maybe this Bokken can give us insight on the lay of the land? A place to start at least."

Caelin O'Hern |

"Let's hope he does, we need to find those mites to en their war with the kobolds to have the upper hand when negotiating with them looks at Tam and winks "I'll protect you if ya need it, I'm ok hunting and and knowing my way in the wild"giving Tam a naughty smile to know it was a pun intended remark "Don't get any ideas Erian I already sed I was riding with ya" laughs to his heart content "Well... let's move out"

Constance Superne |

"Greetings and well met good Sir. The name is Constance, Constance Superne. I don't suppose by chance you are the one called Bokken? We come from Oleg's, Trading post a few hours away."
Constance remains mounted and does her best to hide her concern for the mans demeanor.

Black Fang |

Just as Constance speak, the old man is adding another ingredient, but dumps all of it in as he is startled by her presence. "GAAHHH!" He's attempting to recover things but is having no luck at all. He begins ranting, "Damn you for ruining that! It took me weeks t' gather the herbs for tha..." He is struck silent as he finally turns to look at the group. "You're not here to," He swallows. "rob me are you?"

Caelin O'Hern |

Sense Motive 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 +1 more if bokken is a thief, brigand or anything of the sort.
"Oi! were just here to find out were can we find those little buggers to have a word or maybe none with them" evil grin in his face just by thinking of getting rid of the mites.

Black Fang |

Bokken breathes a sigh of relief, "Good, cause I'd've had to burn your faces off if you had been." He looks at Cealin a little oddly, head tilted almost as if listening to someone, or something, whispering in his ear. "Whatever reason would you have to go looking for pesky mites? They're nothing but a nuisance!" He spits.
Perception checks.
Anyone getting over 10, read spoiler

Ilya Shukhov |
Ilya holds up his hands in a sign of peace, "Easy, honored elder. We are here to say hello and learn more about the area. We are on charter from the Swordlords of Restov to survey these lands. Oleg the trading post manager informed us of some mites to the south and we wanted to know if you knew anything about them."
Diplomacy check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Black Fang |

"Wha? Oh! You're going to kill the mites!" Bokken laughs far to loudly for far to long after hearing this. Once he can talk again, "I think that's a wonderful thing you children want to do. How're you gonna go about it?" He sits down on the frozen ground and waits to hear the plan, biting his toe-nails while listening.

Black Fang |

Bokken says, "What do I do? I'm a crazy old man who talks to himself. I also mix herbs and other things together for various purposes." He cracks a wide smile, "Would you like to buy some of what I have?!"
Items Available: potion of cure light wounds (4), potion of cure moderate wounds, potion of endure elements (2), potion of shield

Constance Superne |

Constance looks back to the other members of her party, speaking quietly so Bokken can not hear her. "This may be a lost cause, following any information give by this man might prove more harmful than helpful. We have general direction as to where the mites are located. I suggest we buy any supplies we may need, and be on our way. Also, let's be sure to make not of this place on our map."

Black Fang |

As the group is just beginning to ride away, Bokken runs after them and yells out, "Wait! Wait! Would you bring me some fangberries? There's a patch of them a days walk west of a giant, old sycamore tree infested with mites to the south of here!"
Did you really think Bokken was going to be completely useless? ;)
