Honestly, I looked through the loot list and I found the beads of power, but not any alchemist's fire, so just go with it. There are a lot of healing potions/wands, so if he makes it, we can heal him up. If not, the resilient sphere lasts 10 minutes, so he is probably toast. Not sure what his Con is. Seriously, I should never have taken this side quest. Should have just bought the guy's bow.

Another option you could have chosen was the dog whistle. Summoned up a Hell Hound and have it breath unholy fire over the swarm.
Nice evil doggie, good evil doggie, burn up all the mean old spiders. No wait, bad evil doggie, bad hell-spawned doggie, spit Fil back out right now. No biting, no humping. Heel, heel, sit, oh no, not on the rug...

Braggi Wrongeye |

Answering here to avoid too much clogging.
Considering that Rage lasts for the combat, encounter, or until voluntarily ended, with Braggi already Fatigued and facing Exhaustion, I would not allow him to continue raging once the threat was eliminated, even if only to keep the Save Bonus active.
Alright, no problem. Even though I don't agree with the "thread eliminated" thing, you rule here, and you've been ruling consistently fine through the whole game.
Had he failed would he have continued raging until down or out of Rage Points?
I don't know. I might have tried to if the PC's life had been at stakes. Rage is handled differently in some minor aspects depending on the GM.
The Save was successful either way considering the bonus I allowed for only trace exposure to the second cloud, but I was curious if I was missing a bonus somewhere.
Ah, didn't know or notice that. I use to describe all the bonuses to rolls, and it's the first time in my life I play a character with the Rage feature so I might be a bit inconsistent sometimes. Please, fell free to tell me if you'd prefer a different format. After all, you do a great job for us, the least I could do is trying to facilitate things for you.

GM Darkblade |

I try to rule fairly, though I know it is a fine line to meet both sides on equal footing. I tend to hold Rage a little finer after a player I once dealt with routinely used his Rages for single round buffs. As an example, an enemy caster, hidden among a bar's crowd, cast a silent, still spell over the party. He used his Rage as a free action to boost his Will Save, arguing that he "felt" the effect in the split second before needing to save, like a MtG spell stack. He also did such actions for holding breath in poison clouds, swimming down a submerged tunnel, moving a steel chest from one side of a room to another, etc...
So far I've had no problems with Braggi, and I would not have even considered an extended Rage an issue but for the Fatigue already in effect, since a barbarian cannot Rage while Fatigued, not without Feat modification.

I'm happy with you guys continuing your side quest..,get that evil vampiric fungus laden wereboar...

Musami Forgeborn |

I have no problem with Kaaro coming in at 5th

Musami Forgeborn |

Musami has taken a turn from where he was originally pointed. tossing up between Shield Focus and Improved bull rush / improved overrun. What are the group's thoughts?
GM Darkblade, where do you stand on the retraining rules? I ask because Musami has weapon focus Earthbreaker and, at least for now, is using a mace and shield. Not saying now, but in the future Musami may want to possibly retrain that Weapon Focus. I completely understand if you want to say it is set in stone.

Zokama |

Yep, better for everyone if he is at a higher level.
As for Fil... we could probably use the extra help if you don't mind botting him, but totally fine if you want to retire him.
I might not have a chance to level until the weekend, but happy to play with lower stats until I have more time... not trying to hold us up.

Musami Forgeborn |

I took a quick look and retraining a feat costs 5 days time and 10 x character level x days in GP (250GP at this stage) but also requires me to train with someone who has the feat. RP opportunity for a training montage :)
I can, as a fighter, switch the feat out for free at 4th, 8th or 12th level so I may wait until 8th. We'll see.

Kaaro Egesovax |

Yay, 5th level. I'm away at the moment, so leveling will be hard until tomorrow...

Musami Forgeborn |

Musami is leveled up.

Musami Forgeborn |

Not sure Braggi. I had enough trouble with my own, and ended up taking a boring feat.

Braggi is now level 5, he chose:
Skills: Perception, Intimidate, Stealth, Survival and Swim
Feat: Extra Rage Power. I picked one that might not see much use, but with the future in mind. Renewed Vigor now, so later on I can pick Renewed Vitality.
Also gained a point of BAB, extra HP and Improved Uncanny Dodge.
Added a note on the Offense section so I remember to use Animal Fury's bite attack when full-attacking. I've been ignoring it for a whole level :P

Zokama |

Zokama Level:
+1 second level spell per day
+1 second level spell known (Summon Swarm)
Favored Class Bonus
+1 first level spell known (Abundant Ammunition)
Careful Teamwork bardic performance increases to +2
+2 bardic performances
9 skill points: Disable, Perception, Spellcraft, Knowledge Arcana (3), Diplomacy, Bluff, Acrobatics
Gain Lore Master:
Lore Master (Ex) [Can take 10 on any Knowledge skill check. Once per day, can take 20 on any Knowledge skill check as a standard action.]

Your health is more important. Take what time you need.

Kaaro Egesovax |

Absolutely! As for me, I'm getting smashed with extra work, so have had hardly any time for the forums past few days... I'll try to get to leveling up in the next few days...

Kaaro Egesovax |

Ok, leveled up:
For Kaaro:
+9 HP (5, + 2 Con, +1 FCB, +1 Toughness)
Extra 1st and 2nd level spell/day
3 skill ranks (Intimidate, Profession: Monster Hunter, Survival)
Feat: Creature Focus: Undead
(New spells yet to be chosen)
For Naghbakh:
+ 1 BAB
+1 Fort/Will
+1 Str/Dex
Attribute Bonus: +1 Con
+13 HP (10 +2 Con, +1 Toughness)
4 skill ranks: Climb, Intimidate, Perception, Swim
Evolution, 1 point: Improved Natural Armor

Yes considering your previous exposure that would be entirely appropriate. I was actually going to do something similar with Filnefillan before he proceeded into the moat house, following whatever plan the group ultimately made. He would have made a show of it, suggesting by actions if not words that he was worried about his own health and safety.
Musami is certainly free to protect himself, and, if desired, warn the others to do the same.

Zokama |

Hey, I can't help it. Some mad wizard integrated a broken chameleon circuit into my Necklace of Adaptation.

GM Darkblade |

As way of explanation, and a bit of supposition, this is your first indicator that something larger and more ominous is awakening in the world. Awakening because someone is playing loud music, banging on the drums, and making fools of themselves to get his attention, just to make him mad enough to wake up and ruin everyone's good time.
Too many games play deities as uber statblocks without regard for the grander scope of things. Tharizdun, whom you have not identified yet, was an entity so powerful, so alien, so overwhelming that the other gods had to join together, good and evil, chaotic and lawful, just to hold him down long enough to put him to sleep while others built a prison up around his sleeping mind. Myself I've always pictured him on the scale of Galactus or Cthulhu if you will, the mold from which Rovagug and Thanos with gauntlet are but pale imitations. As such you may find yourselves simply unable to deal directly with him, or with one of his dream bubble haunts which in rare instances might break forth onto the real world.
The overall goal of the campaign is not to defeat Tharizdun, that is beyond the gods themselves, but rather to defeat his cultists and put what dreams he might have touching our world back to rest, if not forever then at least for a few centuries, to then let someone else deal with the headache...

Whoo-hoo. Always nice to have time-traveling friends. I guess the sun comes up tomorrow okay then (6:55 pm on the 3rd here). :)

Yeah, it comes up fine. I go to the gym, get a good workout in, have some protein, get swole then go to work. I also have a really positive check-up the the dentist.

GM Darkblade |

Guys sorry I have been MIA recently, I've had two coronary events recently complicated by my CF. I have been barely holding to a work schedule and sleeping more hours to attempt to ease my recovery.
I leave it to you if you wish to continue with the campaign or retire it, I will try to post more regularly but cannot guarantee it for the next few weeks or so.

Musami Forgeborn |

I'm absolutely fine with waiting. Take whatever time you need.

Zokama |

Your call GM. Real life trumps the game. If you don't have the energy to continue, I am okay with you shutting it down, but also happy to wait if you prefer to keep going. :)

Musami Forgeborn |

Has anyone heard from Darkblade? I am less concerned about the game and more about their health.

For sure. Please let us know how Darkblade is once you get an answer.

Kaaro Egesovax |

@Jereru, Ietsuna, Zanbabe: I'm considering running a PF2e game (or Ietsuna, if you want you could run one!) Likely an old-school module converted, and if it is a success open it up into a further Campaign. Possibly set in Greyhawk. You guys interested?

I wasn't thinking of a traditional Recruitment, but offering it up to orphans like us, and a few folks I know who are good posters/players - which I feel you three are too. I'll get the Game set up and then present the concept - if you like it you are in.
