I have made a note about the +1 ring of protection. I would like it, but don't want to take it if anyone else could make better use. I am making my own shield and would like to make a warhammer when the shield is done. Nothing else on the list for me thanks.

I've added Braggi's name beside the Mwk Great Axe and the Mwk Agile Breastplate. Basically anything that pumps damage or aids mobility is Braggi's prime target.

Also, we should divide those potions. Enlarge Person is one of Braggi's favs.

Yeah, I just got done with an interview, and have a little time. I am trying to break some of it down now. At least the cash, potions, and scrolls. Finding the value of all that gear is going to take a while.

Update:

Okay, I broke all of the scrolls and potions onto their own lines so you can take one and not have to take the whole group if you want.

For cash, I am going to say that everyone gets

4 plates, 35 orbs, 30 nobles, and 58 commons

(It is 78.58 orb value each, and the actual coinage doesn't work out *exactly* that way for everyone, but that is the correct amount, and I am guessing/hoping that the GM is okay with us adjusting the actual coinage in this case, at least for the cash.)

Trade Ingots:

1,220 orb value each

(But that is going to depend on redeeming them, which is up to the GM.)

Gems:

2,000 orb value each

(Each person has one sapphire, one black pearl, and one dark violet garnet)

Writs of Credit:

2,780 orb value each

(But that is going to depend on redeeming them, which is also up to the GM.)

Basically, we get about 79 orbs in cash and then 6,000 orbs in non-cash. As a reminder, this is what the GM said about Writs and Ingots:

Darkblade on Writs and Ingots:

As these documents are payable to the presenter you have a few options regarding cashing them out:

1) You can appear in person to the kingdom/coaster involved and request the value offered.
2) You can attempt to present them to a similar location or organization and sell the writs to them for an equivalent amount, less a transaction fee. Many kingdoms, churches, guilds, or coasters will trade in such writs to gain leverage or influence over the guarantor.
3) You can hire an agent you trust to collect the funds on your behalf, again for a fee. Lord Burne, Canon Terjon, etc. as possible examples.

The ingots are similar to the writs, they do not actually carry a full coin value in weight, but are more tangible than a scrap of paper. If you have ever noticed in old films or stories of a person biting a coin it is to assure the item isn't plated. The same with merchants maintaining scales and government stamped weights, to alleviate shaving or plating of coinage and devaluing the currency of the realm. The above cash out options are available to ingots, as well as the below suggestions.

1) Ingots can be used as actually coinage, though at a loss of face value according to the current value of exchange, with a small transaction fee.
2) Ingots can be exchanged for more portable currencies, such as trade gems, jewelry, artwork, etc, with a small transaction fee.

That doesn't count selling anything else... that will have to wait until I have more time, sorry.

Fil has a heck of a lot of loot he'd like:

Scrolls: Burning Hands, Magic Missile, Teleport x2 (lv 9) He'd copy one of the Teleports, but he'd be able to do a lot of support work.

Spugnoir's Spellbook (he'd like to copy then sell this splitting the cost with the party once sold, same with the unknown person's spellbook)

Spoiler:

Zero Level Spells: Acid Splash, Arcane Mark, Bleed, Dancing Lights, Daze, Detect Magic, Detect Poison, Disrupt Undead, Flare, Ghost Sound, Light, Mage Hand, Mending, Message, Open/Close, Prestidigitation, Ray of Frost, Read Magic, Resistance, and Touch of Fatigue.
First Level Spells: Alarm, Charm Person, Comprehend Languages, Detect Secret Doors, Enlarge Person, Erase, Identify, Jump, Mage Armor, Magic Missile, Mount, Reduce Person, Sleep, and Unseen Servant.
Second Level Spells: Alter Self, Bear's Endurance, Blur, Bull's Strength, Cat's Grace, Darkvision, Detect Thoughts, Flaming Sphere, Invisibility, Levitate, Spider Climb, and Web.
Third Level Spells: Daylight, Dispel Magic, Fly, Gaseous Form, Haste, Lightning Bolt, Non-detection, Protection from Energy, Tongues, and Water Breathing.
Fourth Level Spells: Dimension Door, Fire Shield, and Scrying.

Unknown Spellbook:

Spoiler:
Disguise Self & Prestidigitation

Keeping:
Diamond Dust
Scroll Case

Masterwork Rapier
16 Durable Silver tipped arrows
16 Cold Iron arrowheads (yay!)
4 decent arrows.

4 plates, 35 orbs, 30 nobles, and 58 commons

Obviously, the consumable priestly items should go to Navith, and Braggi and/or Toruk/Musami should most certainly get the enlarge person and Bull's Strength items.

The arrowheads Fil can make into arrows as he is a Bowyer/Fletcher! Yay!

Also, Toruk has been very quiet lately. You okay?

We could also keep the rations, Alchemist's fire, Holy Water, Iron Rations, Masterwork Backpack (heck, all of us could use one of those).

I'm a bit confused - have we lost Toruk?

OOC, yes, unfortunately Toruk has left the game, with his apologies. I had intended to DMNPC him for a brief period but decided instead to work his disappearance into the gameplay.

In character, Toruk left the Inn early that morning to find a quiet place to commune with his deity. He mentioned Jaroo's Grove, as he has a few times now, though this has not been confirmed today.

Ostler's comments seem to refer to the only party member missing from the common room, Toruk, but this has not been specifically stated.

Male High Elf Wizard 4 HP: 23 AC: 13. Mage Armor 17

I am sad to see him go. It happens with PbP, but I thought he would be here for the long haul.

To make gearing up and resupplying easier, and to get the game back on track, go ahead and divide the remaining cash value of the treasure as evenly as possible between the five of you. (Consider Toruk's share an IOU once he is safely recovered, payable at a later date.)

If desired the ingots may be traded for 95% of the listed value.
If desired the gems may be traded at full listed value.
If desired the writs may be traded for 85% of the listed value.

Each of you may then post here in the discussion forum what you would spend the cash on, and roll a d100 for each item. The below chances will be for a passing merchant in Hommlet for one day only to have the items you are looking to acquire.

Single items up to 2500 gpv at a 75% chance availability.
Single items up to 3250 gpv at a 50% chance availability.
Single items up to 4000 gpv at a 25% chance availability.
Single items up to 5000 gpv at a 10% chance availability.

No items are available at a cost higher than 5000 gp at this time.

Multiples of any particular item are, per individual, not available, except for ammunition and potions of 3rd level or less. (You could each buy a +1 dagger, but one of you could not buy six +1 daggers.)

Ok, I did some maths (shown on the loot list)

If we trade the gems, ingots and writs as listed by GM above we each get

1159 orbs from the ingots
2000 orbs from the gems
2363 from the writs

I will go ahead and do some shopping and pencil it in. Should we decide not to go this way I'll erase them.

Make sure you divide for 5 shares, not 6. OOC Toruk has retired, but in-character the party doesn't know this, only that he's missing and presumed captured. The party can pay back his share if they rescue him. Any monies spent in the meantime only better assure the success of such an endeavor.

Oh well, quite some extreme rolls. Anyway, I'll forfeit my option to the masterwork axe.

Now, could I roll again for another type of armor? Say, just a masterwork full plate? Or for another item?

Yes you can roll for a different type of armor or something else, until you have spent your allotment, or can't think of anything else to purchase.

I would ask that players not roll for several similar items in a large batch but rather similar to how Braggi did, one each of armor, weapons, miscellaneous, etc. Say attempting a mithral chain shirt, short sword +1, and cloak of resistance in the first wave, but failing on the armor and cloak, so in the second wave how about a suit of studded leather instead, and a ring of protection, bingo...

Ah, f~*% my old boots... I just remembered I would lose my fast movement feature if I wear heavy armour. Lol.

So I'll just stick to the Mwk Agile Breastplate we found somewhere.

If there is money enough...:

Then I'll roll for a Belt of Strength (4000 orbs - 25%) 1d100 ⇒ 52

That would be 3350 orbs if I can't think of anything else.

Male High Elf Wizard 4 HP: 23 AC: 13. Mage Armor 17

The servers. I am good with the campaign.

Frankly, Fil is going to go crafting route with his next two feats. Craft Wand and Craft Magic Arms and Armor. He can then enchant our equipment without affecting the market as much. This will keep him in the game for much longer periods, and it will help the group as a whole.

He will learn Greater Magic Weapon and probably Fireball at his next level. This way, the enchantments can actually do something.

Thoughts?

No, I do not build the character all 20 levels. I build the first 3 unless I really want something.

Yes everyone could certainly chip in however much they agree upon to up purchase an item for the group. As long as everyone agrees to it I have no reason to disagree, provided it falls into place with the rules of the game and the purchase percentages I posted above.

From my own gaming habits I found it good to focus on cure light wounds wands for individual uses, with a point or three in Use Magic Device, a higher dose potion for emergency needs, and a jar of restorative ointment as a catchall for unique problems, i.e. poisons and diseases.

Purchase rolls (all with 1-75 (or whatever) being pass and over being fail.):

Handy Haversack: 1d100 ⇒ 88 (fail)
Mithril Chain Shirt: 1d100 ⇒ 61 (pass)
+1 Adaptive Longbow: 1d100 ⇒ 32 (fail)

Okay, so, that's 1,100 orbs for the mithral chain shirt. Unfortunately the adaptive took the bow just over 3250 so I would have had to roll 25 or under. Will try something simpler next time.

Second Try:

Bag of Holding: 1d100 ⇒ 75 (pass)
+1 Composite Longbow: 1d100 ⇒ 95 (fail)

Arrgh. Okay, no magic bow I guess. But the bag of holding worked, so even though I would have preferred a handy haversack, I'll take it. Anything to not worry about weight so much. That's 2500 orbs. Guess I'll save the rest for getting a nicer bow later.

Assuming that mundane things like a journal, ink, etc, we don't need to roll for. Is that correct?

No, simple purchases would be automatic, anything less than 100 gpv, though quantities might be limited in the case of exotic items.

You may also check for masterwork or special material items as well, which Filnefillan might be able to enchant down the road. You might also consider temporarily enchanting items using access to the Magic Weapon spell. A Wand of Magic Weapon perhaps...

The church and Kalizar may well have a wand of cure light wounds in stock. It had been mentioned previously, though neither was likely fully charged.

"Mundane" Shopping (let me know if any of these items are subject to a roll GM and I will roll for them.

2 x potions of cure light (50gp each)
1 x anti-plague (50gp)
1 x anti-toxin (50gp)
5 days rations (25sp)

Those should be fine Musami.

Male High Elf Wizard 4 HP: 23 AC: 13. Mage Armor 17

Fil has the intent to study and obtain several days' rations, eight in fact, along with inks and other components to hopefully obtain a couple of new spells for his spell book by studying, some chalk, And an extra waterskin.

Outside of that, he will create a scroll of Mage Armor so that he can avoid casting it at least once.

He also will look for an ash bow, or components to make one himself. He is looking for a masterwork composite longbow with a +1 Strength bonus. Nothing magical, but very expensive.

Fil will also look for a wand of Magic Weapon as well as a. Scroll of such.

Rolls:
Composite longbow: 1d100 ⇒ 62
Wand of Magic Weapon: 1d100 ⇒ 48
Scroll of magic weapon: 1d100 ⇒ 11

These appear to be passes if all had to be under 75%

And my shield wont be ready in time, so I will take the heavy steel on from our stash too, if that is ok with everyone.

Everyone should finalize their purchases and update their character bios accordingly. The caravan will not be staying long, so browse the assorted wagons quickly, and beware, it is rumored a few Rhennee wagon folk are among the drovers. Mind your purse strings.

The only other thing that Fil could think of is the Masterwork Backpack, which he could really use. If no one took it from the loot, or if one is available, he would like one.

A masterwork backpack can be purchased if desired, or taken from existing party loot however you decide.
