Pretty sure we're not dragging around fullplate. One of us doesn't wear armor and the other can't wear fullplate till level 13. lol

I can wear full plate! ...I just don't want to. Less visual of bleeding my heart out that way~

All Changeling based Kingmaker recruitment.
Haven't played with the GM before, and I'm wary at Gestalt...

Hey ladies, your DM invited me to join in (with a different character).
I'm currently leaning toward an investigator (natural philosopher) or maaaybe a monk (water dancer) - more toward the former 'cuz it can bring healing. I'm not sold on it though and could do anything! So let me know what you would like to see.
Also, not sure yet if I should play male or female - it seems our snake-lady has a problem with men, which could be interesting or could be annoying. So let me know!

Finally got some relaxation and had some more inspiration trickle in. Other possible character types that might be neat to try:
* Occultist (sha'ir) - Very limited spell selection, but interesting flavor with elemental genie stuff.
* Oracle, clouded vision - The stereotypical "blind seer." I am generally not a fan of the oracle class but this could be a way to get some divine casting in.
Of course our illustrious DM has indicated that the challenges will depend upon the party composition, so really it's whatever we all think would be the most fun!

Yelenn |

The Sha'ir sounds cool, and we're trending toward exotic anyway, though blind seer could also be good. Especially since we're short on divine power and healing.

Azura Celestine |

@Mylyna, any preferences? Male/female? Human or other?
I did some work on the sha'ir and it's a pretty weird class, very limited selection of spells but it does pull from the wizard list, which is nice. It's made to be a partial combatant, with martial weapons, medium armor, and a shield, which... is not what I was expecting for a genie-binding caster. At level 3, could pick up Psychic Healing, which allows one hour of work to do Heal checks that don't require a healer's kit and provide a Treat Deadly Wounds function plus give you some temporary hit points, so that would give stopgap healing in camp.
The water dancer could have the kinetic healer power at level 3, which lets you heal hit points in exchange for taking nonlethal damage that lasts for 24 hours. So, potentially better healing if you have a day to wait. It's an interesting build, a Charisma-based monk that shoots blasts of water at range. Could be very self-sufficient and a strong fighting build.
The oracle would just be a straight-up divine caster, nothing special there.
The natural philosopher could have the infusion discovery and thus could give potions with various buffs to other party members. This is a nice feature since it would let me make healing spells as extracts, or other buffs. Also, gets Survival bonuses! Very handy in this kind of setting.

Water bender....cool.
The natural philosopher sounds very interesting. You should go with what you'd find fun to play.

Ok, first try, here is a link to Yasmin Jahandar, human occultist (sha'ir). I had some trouble because the occultist's spell list is so sharply limited, and I was really wanting more variety, but that's the price you pay.
Yasmin has some useful skills, and she has a water elemental companion that may be able to help from time to time. (It's not really tough but she can temporarily power it up in a pinch.) She is built as a ranged support character with some skills and a few small spells. Next level she gains Psychic Healing, so she can do some pinch healing for the party after combats; and at higher levels she will expand her spell list a bit, which should help. But she'll never be a "peak performer" in any area. Interestingly, she uses a limited subset of the wizard spell list, but she casts as a psychic caster, so no verbal, somatic, or material components, and she can wear armor.
I didn't pick traits yet because you mentioned something about Campaign traits?
Also, I left a couple languages unpicked, I presume her native tongue would be from abroad, not the Common tongue, so I left a space for that.
I've also worked up the mechanics (but not backstory) for the water dancer, which seems like an interesting build that has more ranged firepower and better healing but no other utility and, of course, no elemental buddies.

You can take a trait, plus a Drawback for a second, and then we can work to make a campaign trait for you (still need to do that for Mylyna >_<)
For being someone who deals with Genies I can see Hadal or Yune or soem of the southern Western Kingdoms.
Hadal has various monster run countries whereas Yune is known as the Dreaming Isle since it seems to exists in multiple places at once, and has a large amount of Oni and Kami and other supernatural entities.
I can list off various countries to see if any catch your eye or where would a place you'd like to come from be?

Azura Celestine |

Well, as a genie-dealer Yasmin is kinda Arabian Nights-themed. Whatcha got in your pocket?

Your Demented Storyteller |

That would be the southern Western Kingdoms then, which I've envisioned as more analogues to Africa, and which I've sadly done little with -_-
And then there's Hadal, which is mishmash of different cultures and I could see genies being involved, more Efreeti than anything.
But for a water focus? Hmmm, let me think think think...

Ok, I guess I'm committing to the sha'ir! :D
Here she is! Took the Disillusioned trait (as she saw her family torn apart by palace intrigue). Second trait will presumably be one of your special Campaign traits.
If one of Hadal's areas is actually run by genies or suli-jinn, she could be from there.
Just need a campaign trait and she's ready to go! Got starting gear, spells, personality, background, and a picture.

Your Demented Storyteller |

Okies! And hmmmm, maybe, I kinda had something like this in mind, an Arabic Venice kinda, maybe somewhere in Western Kingdoms or Yune. Might go WK.
Ok, in Regards to the trait, how do you consider your character cursed? Are they actually cursed, did events conspire them to seem like they are cursed, or was it political/religious mechanizations that got them exiled to Bastarache?

Yasmin Jahandar |

Sooo she was originally exiled from her home in the WK due to political intrigue (her parents were killed, too), and she wound up traveling a long way to get away from home and the problems there. She ran afoul of the clergy in a city - since she's a foreigner who uses strange magic - and was banished to Bastarache as a result. The clergyman "cursed" her but it's not clear if that was an actual magical curse or just showmanship.
