Female Human INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Color character pic for $75-90 at that level of detail is a really good deal (if the artist is still doing that rate).

Rysky, do you also do some art of your own? (I can't draw a straight line with a ruler.)

I tried, but no, no Rysky art.

And I believe Lava is still taking coms, You're looking at around $100 depending on the level of detail.

School of life and death.

Second Edition news: Hmm, no more spamming spell trigger items, you have an X + Cha amount of times per day you personally can use them (in any combination). Don't know if wands still have finite charges.

That screws Int and Wis users hard. It's like requiring everyone to use UMD almost

Female Human INACTIVE - GAME DIED

It's interesting in that it means wizards now lean even more on scrolls that they make (if that mechanic still exists).

That was just from the charity game so the actual rules might be more expanded come the playtest, and I wouldn’t doubt that Wizards have a class ability that lets them override that.

If they’re going this route I wouldn’t mind if they were similar to the Eternal Wands from Eberron and also had ranks of wands like what they’re doing with weapons, where a “basic” Wand of Healing could be used once per day, “Greater” Wand of Healing could be used 3/day, etc

Second Edition News

No negative HP. You get knocked out you go to Dying 1, if you get critted you go to Dying 2 (you're dead at Dying 4).

To stabilize you roll vs a DC dependent on the enemy (so goblin whacking you over the head with a stick is gonna be lower than getting chomped by a dragon).

If you make the save you go up to 1 HP, and if you make it again you regain consciousnesses. If you are healed it doesn't matter how much HP you get back up to you're still unconscious until you make the Stabilize check (though you don't have to worry about dying).

So this makes in-combat healing very important and I'm also assuming that certain abilities (such as Breath of Life) will circumvent this.

I wonder how Diehard will play with this.

These are just some of things that pop out to me, i'm spending most of my days scouring the Playtest boards so if anyone is curious or worried about something feel free to ask and I'll try to hunt down an answer :3

Non-sequitur, darn you John Compton for making a sexy Ghast >_>

Second Edition News (that I’m really excited for and glad to have it officially confirmed)

The >10< rule is applied to SoD effects too, so it’s no more failing the save just by 1 and being taken out of the fight/game, while also making them less all or nothing risky.

Also, spell DCs are tied to caster level, rather than spell level, whereas effects of the spell depend on what slot you use to cast them (and in the case of magic missile, how many actions you devote to it).

I’m just prattling about Second Edition in here cause I figure y’all might have been interested, if you’re not just let me know, I don’t want to annoy any of you.

Female Human INACTIVE - GAME DIED

No problem!

Second Edition News

RIPOSTES! They’re gonna be Reactions that certain classes/monsters can make when an attack critically fails against them.

I’m liking how combat is shaping up :3

Second Edition News

Dagger has the Agile and Deadly Weapon Qualities.

Agile means you take less penalties on iterative attacks and deadly apparently adds a d10 on a crit. Which with the new action economy and the >10< rules for crits means you can royally f*~! someone up with a dagger à la Drax.

Was misinformed, Rapier had these Qualities, not Daggers, but Daggers might have them as well.

Also Finesse is a Quality now, rather than requiring a feat to use DEX for attack.

Second Edition Fighter preview is up

Second Edition news

John Carter style jumping is now seemingly baked into the Legendary Proficiency (which are available around level 15 I believe) for Acrobatics, rather than being something only Barbarians can do.

Profiencies!... that's all I got on that atm, they exist aside your rank/mods in some things and determine what all you can do, being untrained in Thievery for example would still let you attempt to pick pocket someone but you can't pick a lock.

Counterspell is getting overhauled so it's no longer 90% completely useless and 10% completely broken.

Also this looks promising

Thinking about it, the -2 makes some sense. Running away from the Fighter should do something, otherwise there’s no point in running. I guess the optimal fleeing is guarded step, double move.

Ah, that also shows some nice value for Sudden Charge! Because you can move three times and attack, nobody can escape you.

You know, I’m suddenly rather interested in a mobile Fighter. That could be fun. I hope there’s a solid way to threaten an extra five feet, so AoOs are hard to avoid.

We had a crazy chase/fight up a spiral staircase in my Shattered Star playtest game where the Sudden Charging fighter was chasing a rat-form wererat, kicking off the walls and over her ratty-form to block her off while the wererat would squeeze through the fighter and continue upward (the rat was faster but was slowed down by not always succeeding to squeeze through the fighter). They eventually dropped her low enough to cry mercy just at the top of the stairs. The fighter mentioned that it was one of the craziest and coolest action scenes he had seen in a long time, and I was thinking it seems like the kind of fight scene they would choreograph in a kung fu movie.

That actually does sound pretty cool. I've always said that a high level fighter should be subject to action movie physics

I was suddenly struck with the thought that someone needs to run this group (not necessarily these characters specifically) through the AP "Sex & Shackles" as "curvy swabs."

female lamae witch (seductress) 2 | HP 14/16 THP 0 n/l 0 | AC 14, FF 14, TAC 10 | F +2, R +1, W +3 | CMB +3 (+5 grapple), CMD 14 | darkvision 60, Per +0 | Spd 30, Climb 20 | Spells: 1st 5/5

That would be a lot of fun. Take it to RPOL so the content filter wasn't needed.

Pffffttttttt *falls over*

Yeah we killed the f~*$ out of them, Nymph still has Plugg’s coat (it’s a nice coat).

Second Edition News real quick.

Codifying the lanaguge for actions, Strike for attacks, Stride for movement, and Step for 5ftstep and Encounter Mode and Exploration Mode to differentiate between in and out of combat, should cut down on instances of “do I use an attack action or Attack action and can I use this ability outside of combat?”

Anyone who invests in the Craft Proficiencies can craft magic items, you don’t have to be a caster to make them now.

Barbarians get a class feat to shrug off fear effects, yay!

@Yelenn, you’ll like this one for your skyclad Druids, the ones who pick Order of the Storm can pick Storm Retribution’s as a class feat. As a Reaction when critically hit lightning zaps the attacker and knocks them back.

Rogue blog is gonna be on Monday.

Sorry I didn’t post anything on Saturday, I got distracted and lost track of time. I don’t really have any excuse, I’ll try my best to have a new post up in a bit.

Okay, I do have an "excuse" now, I forgot we're having Isopures on sale today for 2.50, I've had to restock twice XD

I swear I will get it cranked out when I get home, time to beat this lethargy!

Well that failed miserably.

Sorry it took me so long, I just had to focus and force myself to crank it out, thankfully now my heads back into it.

In happier news, Second Edition Rogue news

Abilties seem to be set up on determining when an enemy is considered flanked (and thus flatfooted). Not they have to rely on flatfooted/flanking (they still do), they have abilities built in that make foes be considered flanked (similar to Back to the Wall), like if they're frightened or if they're in melee range of an ally no matter the postioning.

They also consider all opponents that haven't acted yest in the first turn to be flatfooted (instead of this being something that affected everyone).

They get the Unchained's Debilitating Strikes starting at 9th, and a potential insta-kill ability at 19th.

They get Skill Feats every level whereas other class get them every other level.

Reactions look nice, starting out Nimble Dodge gives you a +2 AC, and at 2nd level Mobility lets you flat out ignore Reactions triggered by movement. Reactive Pursuit is probably my favourite, since it lets you chase down people trying to withdraw from you.

Other Class Feats let them delay mental effects for a round (Cognitive Loophole) and become immune to Divination and similar effects (Blank Slate).

With the fact that attack bonuses are based off Proficiencies rather than BAB I might actually play a Rogue.

Second Edition News

Animal Companions are not class locked, you can gain them by spending Skill Feats in the Nature Skill. They take an action to command and seem to only have 2 actions themselves (atm anyway).
