Wow lots of options here. Sorry I haven't had time to update the spreadsheet. It's going to be so backed up, maybe I should just do it to keep on top of things...
in any case let's start discussing what we want to do. We can discuss it in character as well.
1-Travel to Beacon Island (150 miles out, 2 days away if we get our missing rigging fixed) and take out the main group of Dajobas worshipers. We'll be needing silver weapons. Sorrin I'd recommend picking up an alchemical silver scimitar while we're in Sharkjaw, if you can.
2-Attempt to kill the Chosen of Dajobas. We don't know if this thing can shapeshift or not, or how powerful it is. It might be TOO powerful. Hopefully it's only a giant shark that can spread lycantrophy, but if it can become humanoid... Hm, actually it was a month ago Falken's crew were attacked/infected, and he thinks the Chosen did it... maybe during the full moon? If the Chosen can shapeshift into a humanoid during the full moon, that is bad. In any case, we'd need silver ballista bolts, maybe another ship or two to help.
3-Return to Shaw and attempt to prevent the oncoming wereshark outbreak. This would involve talking to the Elders and figuring out how to treat this disease. It would be interesting if the shaman has an herbal remedy, and with some research maybe Chell could use her new cauldron to produce it to distribute a mass cure? Theoretically we could go to Beacon Island AND return to Shaw before the full moon, but it would be tight.
I think we can do both 1 and 3, but we'll need to get a move on.

Embrianna |

No matter what we choose to do, we ARE getting our rigging fixed first, including the missing sail we never had. We could have just outrun the Weasel if we were at full sail and Bri wants the option to avoid that kinda shit in the future.
After we do that, Bri will agree to do option 1 and hopefully 3 after that as well.

Astrianna Sparacello |

I don't think it will be a problem to repair our missing rigging with the extra sails and cords from the Weasel. It will raise our base speed to 3.5 mph, which is a big jump really. But are you talking about building the fifth rigging location as well?
According to FASB an average shipyard takes a month to build a rigging location on the ship at base price.
Each Rigging Location costs 2,000 gp and adds one
month to the build time of the ship. A Rigging Location
weighs 1,500 pounds.
So adding our fifth possible rigging right now is not feasible. We'd need the best shipbuilders in Shaw and paying double or quadruple for a rush job to get it done in less than a month.

Embrianna |

I thought that you said there was a place for another sail, but that we just didn't have one there yet. And that we had been sailing with one missing this whole time. That is the one I am talking about putting a sail up on to complete the ship. Not to create a whole new place for one.

You are not mistaken that is the sail that both Astri and I are speaking about. this will raise you speed from 3.0 to 3.5 mph. In addition to that sail, you can actually build another rigging location given the size of your ship this would further increase your speed. This would increase your speed from 3.5 to 4.0 mph.

Sorrin the Wayward |

This first additional sail is what Sorrin is trying to expedite while the ships are waiting.
That's why he sent the extra sail from the Rabid Weasel over to The Baron. If Donovan needs explicit instructions... That's fine, though it would be a given.

Donovan would know.

Everyone in order to make things easier to track your ship's crew is:
20 veterans
40 Able seamen
2 cooks (Fiosa and Cookie).
2 new mates: a) Rex - repelling or staying the ship, b) Norb - gunnery mate
By adding the two mates that should free both Ptahh and Sorrin up to conduct boaring actions.

Embrianna |

Bri still wants to buy some spare sails if possible though. Or at the very least, some length of sail cloth to be used to patch up damaged sails until decent repairs can be made.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Aye aye! I shall update the sheets. If Rex is joining he'll get his gear back. What did he have? I know he lost his +1 greataxe, so he can have one of the boarding axes we acquired.

Chell Silves |

I think I'll prepare Touch of Truthtelling for tomorrow to question the new hires. The mates at least.
And why not just set up some ropes for that specific purpose. Plenty of room int he rigging to a few. You could also do it in assassin's creed 3.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Okay updated the ship sheet, adding the repaired rigging.
That repaired rigging gives us a 14 dexterity, boosting the ship's Maneuverability rating to Good and providing a +7 to naval maneuvers. We are the proud owners of an incredibly maneuverable ship, maybe the most maneuverable ship in the Razor, as long as we keep it at a light load. We're not the fastest ship (the Quell's Whore has freaking NINE rigging locations, giving them a base speed of 7 mph- twice the speed of our ship, but it's a big ship and has poor maneuverability.)
But hey Embri can probably make the Baron do Wheelies at this point.

Sorrin the Wayward |

Wishlist attempt:
- Scimitar - magical, bane (aquatic, human), keen, speed, flaming (sun), subtlety, vicious , whatever.
- something that increases speed +10
- pearl of the sirens
- glove of storing

Astrianna Sparacello |

Of course! Did you see my appraise roll...?
Really though this is more about doing a favor for Drango. He knows exactly how much the ship is worth.
This is like if we were trying to sell a world-famous stock car racer a 1987 ford mustang, really.

Adriel Mistleaf |

Hello guys,
Man, that was a llooooonng time with no checking the boards. Moved House, changed jobs, kids in new schools.
I had a feeling this would still be running. :)
Bed time for me now.
Glad to see this is still going.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Hey Adriel, nice of you to check in! Sounds like you've been busy!
We're making our fortunes and solving the problems of the world, one adventure at a time...

baldwin the merciful |

As far as Drango and Windborn along with information gained. I figured they could be hard arses about buying the ship - Drango would just as likely to steal her then buy her - and Windborn getting you pretty high caster level potions is pretty important for Chell's storyline and sense of accomplishment. You all have enough world solving problems that I didn't want to create another at this time. You've got lots to do, limited resources and hours count, so rewarding you all for your efforts so far is worth it. It was time to tie up a couple loose ends.
I really wanted to get Drango reintroduced, so I used this stop as logical location given his background. You've accomplished a couple significant things with him. He was desperate for a boat and by helping him you at least draw a favor from him and sell a ship. He's not your friend but more importantly he is not your enemy.

Astrianna Sparacello |

The only way this could go better is if the Chosen of Dajobas beaches itself and we just stab it with silver spears until it dies. Thanks Baldwin.

Sorrin the Wayward |

Hey Adriel good to hear from you. By the way your body was shark chum.
Alleged shark chum. Like in the soap operas, cliffhanger. Circumstantial supposition.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Yeah, Sorrin has probably heard rumors Drango murdered his whole crew, and then escaped his execution. Astri and Bri were present for the latter. Really doubt he actually killed his crew, seems the Chosen of Dajobas and a strange fog/wind had something to do with it.

Chell Silves |

By the way, those potions I got at their caster level were 1800 a piece or 16200 total. Staff was only 11000. Really good deal.

baldwin the merciful |

Baldwin could you outfit our veterans with the armor, bucklers, and crossbows and healing potions/healing kits?
Sounds good to me, if you add it to the spreadsheet that will be easy to track. Especially since Sorrin and Ptahh make most of those rolls for the crew. I won't change the plunder rate for this port, consider the harbormaster and others being fearful or side benefit from associating with Capt Drango and the cleric.
I think there was only one wand of web and Bri kept it. You have one listed with Chell.
Yes, THANK YOU for your tracking.

Astrianna Sparacello |

You're welcome everyone. I will get back to recording events and npcs when my thesis is complete. 16 more days until my defense!
Oops I forgot to delete that other wand of web when I was copying and pasting.
If there are no other matters consider the payouts and loot distribution final. Wow 391.42gp for each crewmember. Can you imagine you were just some slub off the streets of Shaw, hired on as crew, survived two terrifying battles and then get ~30 years worth of pay as an unskilled laborer? THEN take your money into this cargo pit, surrounded by temptation and everything you've ever wanted but couldn't afford?
In any case, when we go shopping going to buy some more crossbows for the crew and alchemical silver bolts with ship funds. We may not be hunting the Chosen of Dajobas but that doesn't mean it won't hunt us...
Going to be busy today. Baldwin I'd like for Astrianna to stop by the dragon's den I think it was called, probably in disguise. If we don't have time to play it out that's fine, don't want to hold up the game. Can probably get it on the way back.

That's what dreams are made of! :-)

baldwin the merciful |

Does anyone else want to check for anything in particular, if not we can get the action moving.
Astri you would have seen the location of the Dragon's Den but you don't have enough time to explore it. I laid the foundation to a much higher level module that you all can come back to when you are on the high seas between the two main story arcs.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Found a wallet on the street today, driver's license, credit cards, health insurance card, bank account numbers, everything but a social security card really. Ironically there was a dead deer tick stuck to the health insurance card, which made me laugh.
Anyway. I couldn't help but think, "What would Astrianna do? SHOPPING SPREE!"
Police station doesn't open until tomorrow so guess I'll hang onto this. Too bad they don't have a student ID in here or I could look them up.
