There is a mass of black, bramble-like tentacles writhes from the back
of this vague, shifting humanoid creature standing nearly 7 feet tall. Inky skin covers the creature, and ebon claws curve long and thin from the tips of its fingers. Numerous tendrils of wispy shadow hold the creature aloft while others rise above its shoulders in strange, wriggling wings.
The creature lashes out at Daniel,

Violent xenophobes, the creatures typically called nihilois, devashades, or shadow lords pose a rising threat to interlopers into their umbral realm. In ages immemorial, these creatures enjoyed vast empires upon the mysterious Plane of Shadow, but through the millennia incursion by immigrants and interlopers have eroded their way of life and scattered their numbers. These powerful creatures often raise to dominant lesser shadow creatures.
They do not speak and are unable to vocalize words, they speak telepathically.
They are immune to cold and are malleable, which is the ability to bend and warp its body with shadow. You don't think, or don't know, of any weakness.
Edit: You vaguely recall one more thing...something about its tendril aura.

Daniel I need you to make Will save DC 19 to disbelieve. If a successful save then you only take 1/5 damage when you hit him the first time. The second attack missed. As you realize there is some sort of shadow shield around him (basically a fire shield made out of shadow stuff.)
damage, cold: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Can you make sure you HP total is current, I think you were hit 5 times (1 surprise, 4 in RD 1) total now since you were flat footed. I believe you've taken 61 HP of damage but double check.

Daniel, Andrea and Orsin can make either Know arcana or spellcraft check
This creature has the Shadow Evocation ability.
You tap energy from the Plane of Shadow to cast a quasi-real, illusory version of a sorcerer or wizard evocation spell of 4th level or lower. Spells that deal damage have normal effects unless an affected creature succeeds on a Will save. Each disbelieving creature takes only one-fifth damage from the attack. If the disbelieved attack has a special effect other than damage, that effect is one-fifth as strong (if applicable) or only 20% likely to occur. If recognized as a shadow evocation, a damaging spell deals only one-fifth (20%) damage. Regardless of the result of the save to disbelieve, an affected creature is also allowed any save (or spell resistance) that the spell being simulated allows, but the save DC is set according to shadow evocation's level (5th) rather than the spell's normal level.
Non-damaging effects have normal effects except against those who disbelieve them. Against disbelievers, they have no effect.
Objects automatically succeed on their Will saves against this spell.
the evocation spell of 4th level or lower that he tapped into was fire shield.
This spell wreathes you in flame and causes damage to each creature that attacks you in melee. The flames also protect you from either cold-based or fire-based attacks, depending on if you choose cool or warm flames for your fire shield.
Any creature striking you with its body or a hand-held weapon deals normal damage, but at the same time the attacker takes 1d6 points of damage + 1 point per caster level (maximum +15). This damage is either cold damage (if you choose a chill shield) or fire damage (if you choose a warm shield).

The 1/5 thing. if you successfully make your will save you disbelieve and only take 1/5 of the damage. In this case 2 HP. If you fail the Will save you take all 11 HP
so your LOH is your swift action what did that do for your damage on your first attack?
LOH did not reduce my damage. SMITE is a free action. I can do both. Damage was figured for one handed attack since I can't two hand a sword in a grapple.

            Is bane a swift action?
You are thinking of the Inquisitor Bane class ability, which is swift. Not in this case. Daniel's Sword HEAVEN'S RAZOR has always been a +1 Evil Outsider Bane Longsword, no action just works. I has just been rare that we have fought evil outsiders since Daniel joined. Plus, you gave a +3 Sword in the loot he was using for awhile.

Andrea moved D,7 tried to charm monster
Daniel - hit with one attack 35 HP
