Daniel Arrisen |

I was born to fight Andrea. Down. We will find more enemies the lower we go. I think we have cleared this floor.

Andrea1 |

There is a door on the north wall, let us open that. Plus there was a hall south of the room we were in when we came down the steps from the second floor. Andrea motions to the door in the north for Gerard and Daniel to open.
Perception for Gerard: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20

baldwin the merciful |

Andrea and Gerard check out the north door, they hear nothing, the door is unlocked and there is no magic.
Since Azreal is back on his plane, what are you doing for light sources now that it has gotten dark outside? These interior rooms have no windows, so unless I'm told otherwise I will assume Andrea has cast light on Daniel.

baldwin the merciful |

Light is cast and Gerard tests the northern door, it opens with a bit of creak. Gerard feels a chill in room as his eyes notice more fluids on the ground, there are bits and pieces of gear scattered around, including a light crossbow, along with chucks of flesh. There are two chains handing from the ceiling and cast upright in one corner.
What re you doing?

Perception, excluding Gerard
Andrea: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20
Phem: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Orsin: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Daniel: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33
-----
Gerard: 1d1 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Gerard we were typing and posting at the same time, I'll go ahead and use your perception check.

COT Initiative
Andrea: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Orsin: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Daniel: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Euphemia: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Gerard: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Gerard with tactian ability : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Onyx ooze: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Greater Shadow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Daniel how many times per day do you get the tactician boon? I've used it in every battle so far (I believe)
Gerard make a knowledge planes or knowledge dungeoneering
Gerard you notice the large puddle of fluids ripples which your suspicious senses suggest something is unnatural about it.
Surprise round:
Greater Shadow only
There are two separate things happening here so the action is split in two distinctive rooms:
Andrea
Daniel
Greater Shadow
Gerard
Euphemia
Orsin
Onyx Oooze
-----
Surprise Round: Greater shadow
Moves through a wall and remains adjacent to it.
I need Andrea and Daniel to make a perception check to determine if they see the shadow, you failed on your first attempt, otherwise you remain unaware of the creature until it acts.

Daniel Arrisen |

Everyone has CONTINUAL FLAME cast on their weapons by Azreal. The duration is permanent! I can use the double initiative power 2/day (done- always on Em), and the WEAPON MASTER power for 7 rounds per day, in one round blocks. I have been updating my sheet and I believe I have 2 uses left.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

baldwin the merciful |

We've been using the tactician on Gerard the entire time and its been used way more than twice.
stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (6) + 20 = 26
Andrea notices the wall (-D,4) near her seems to move. She quickly realizes it's a show.
Meanwhile Daniel's attention turns to Gerard's comment about an ooze and the need for his sword.
Andrea your free to act.

Daniel Arrisen |

Sorry. If you like we can switch to my needing to type the designated use for tactician rather than the auto run like we have been doing. I honestly forgot about tactician because Grimmer had a much higher Wisdom Modifier for five uses a day and we never hit his limit. Daniel has 2 only cause his wisdom is only 8.

RD 1: Greater Shadow
I'm taking the shadow's action now so everyone else can post this evening. The shadow goes after Daniel's action.
The wispy creature reaches through the young paladin's body,
TA on Daniel: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23;str damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Sending a wave of chilling negative energy through the half-orc.

Daniel Arrisen |

5 str. Sh!+
Surprised but rremembering the difficulty he had when he fought the last shadow thing, Daniel Smites straight away, burning 2 loh to do so and full attacks.
Smite Power Attack: 1d20 + 16 + 4 - 3 ⇒ (14) + 16 + 4 - 3 = 31
damage: 1d8 + 6 + 1 + 10 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 + 10 + 9 = 27
2nd attack: 1d20 + 11 + 4 - 3 ⇒ (18) + 11 + 4 - 3 = 30
damage: 1d8 + 6 + 1 + 10 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 1 + 10 + 9 = 29
Get away creature.
Edit: reread and saw it's attack is AFTER mine

Andrea1 |

Religion, but we've seen shadows before I believe
Know Religion: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
Oh yeah!
Great Shadow! Magic, holy to harm! Divine searing light!
Magic weapons to damage, 1/2 magic weapons, searing lights/sunbeam to large amounts of damage, smite evil does lots of damage
I think you should full attack smite Daniel

Gerard Nisroc |

Daniel - If the target of smite evil is an outsider with the evil subtype, an evil-aligned dragon, or an undead creature, the bonus to damage on the first successful attack increases to 2 points of damage per level the paladin possesses. >>>But, were still at 1/2 damage.

Euphemia di Nereis |

Euphemia steps D-2 and proceeds pulls out the Morrowfall yet again. This time, however, she immediately uses it to shoot effervescent diurnal lasers at their current foe.
Touch attack:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 Damage:10d8 ⇒ (4, 8, 7, 3, 1, 2, 3, 7, 3, 8) = 46

Daniel Arrisen |

Daniel - If the target of smite evil is an outsider with the evil subtype, an evil-aligned dragon, or an undead creature, the bonus to damage on the first successful attack increases to 2 points of damage per level the paladin possesses. >>>But, were still at 1/2 damage.
Forgot about that double damage bit on the first attack. So 54 for 1st attack, 29 for second

baldwin the merciful |

Daniel hits the creature with his attack doign the following damage:
att 1= 13
smite bonus on first attack for being undead type = 10
att 2 = 14.
The incorporeal subtype: Even when hit by spells or magic weapons, it takes only half damage from a corporeal source (except for channel energy).
Smite is not an effect on the weapon, it is an effect on the paladin. The weapon still needs to be magic to harm the incorporeal creature, and even a magic weapon still only deals half damage against it.

Gerard tries to interpose, taunting. You want me, stupid... He'll destroy you!
atk, dagger +2, wf, defensively: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 13 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 24
dmg, dagger +2: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Touch AC 22, not that the Shadow knows.
