Euphemia, maybe you can summon something to distract it? Or burn it with a searing light. Gerard, the sooner we get Daniel out of that thing the sooner we can leave so grab a limb and pull.

Daniel casts a glance over his shoulder at the rogue, clearly doing his best to leave him behind.

It did not matter, Gerard was a good soul but lacked the fortitude to willingly sacrifice himself for others.
At least the man would attempt to get the others to safety. Until he was threatened again, and fear would make him run.

Maybe the rogue was simply smarter than the paladin.....

End of RD 3: Andrea and Euphemia knowledge results as the creature seeps through the doorway a bit providing you a view.

This is an onxy ooze, often found on the plane of shadows, unlike most oozes that are unintelligent this one has a rudimentary mind, so it can be effected by mind-effecting spells. This ooze dissolves metals and organic material, but not stone. Onxy oozes freeze and dissolve its victims to crystallization devouring it as food. It has a special liking to metal and wood which it does extra damage to.

Immune to acid and cold and has ooze traits as defense features.

with that knowledge Euphemia casts earth elemental.

Andrea steps 10 feet to the east and casts Charm Monster on the ooze.

Why don't you just let go of Daniel so we can discuss this calmly instead of hurting each other?

Andrea you would have known, prior to casting that spell, that you couldn't speak anything it would understand, unless you can speak Aklo.

Edit: I deleted the example of color spray. CS would not work since its an ooze and they don't have sight.

Scratch that then. Whoops. Ooozes can't be stunned by things like Sound Burst.

Andrea is frustrated that most of her spells she has are ineffective.

I can't charm it unless I can speak it's language!

Andrea instead focuses a beam of light from her circlet at the ooze.

While resting earlier at the Tilneros estate,(and a bottle of wine or so.) Andrea looks over at Fiosa and thinks a thought, of course such things need to be phrased properly since it is a touchy subject so Andrea rolls the words over in her head before speaking.

I think Orsin has to wait for the Ooze to act and then use liberating command because due to the current Initiative there is a escape-grab loop going on. Daniel just can't beat the massive grab score. If Daniel breaks the grapple and tries to move, that just triggers the free grapple again.

edit:So perhaps the best thing is to just attack it

Gerard! Throw daggers! Em! Fireball!

The paladin is grabbed again by the unrelenting ooze. He would have to fight it to the death! Praise Imoedae! If this was his final battle, so would go with fury and honor!

Gear now has 18 damage. I have 4 LOH left for the day and if I used smite again that will burn 2 more. Remember cures get +2 bonus HP per dice so if you wanna spam healing hex and CLW I can outlast this thing! I don't know if it's evil but I am gonna smite anyway. If there is a chance, gotta take it.

Round 5:

The paladin activates his smite, unsure if it will help but this place permeates evil. Hopefully his god would protect him.

1st Iterative Inspired, PA: 1d20 + 16 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (6) + 16 + 2 - 3 = 21+4 if evil.

If not it took full damage and the earth elemental took no damage.

Regardless the creature looks quite healthy still. It's been damaged but it is fighting on without fear of death.
