PbP games do need to be trimmed of encounters that can bog things down. Some games collapsed because it took so long to get anything done the first few days.

I have another player in my horror themed game, that is nearing a conclusion, that I think would be a good fit in this game. He has shown a good ability to keep a pace up and he usually posts more than simple one liners. I don't want to screw with the chemistry here but I thought I'd run the idea by you.
It might bring a little jolt of energy into the group. I am cool with it. Sorry I have been light posting. I've been crazy busy this week. I should slow down next week.
It was crazy for nearly three week for me...two weeks of office computer nightmare then I spent a lot of last week landscaping at my house.
Well 6 people is plenty IMO. Our group does tend to get squeezed into areas and making sure everyone has a chance gets more difficult. Plus more work has to be done to adjust things.

I do like that groups get people to rp into a game. Helps develop in game char feel. Does make it more disappointing when you miss out.

I've never had to RP to get into a game but it is fun. You can always tweak a character to make it better suited for the game but it's hard to fake good RP. It lets folks prove themselves beyond the mechanics of the game.
I can post HEAPS today. Hopefully the action is fast and furious.

Shell are after a Field Safety/Emergency Officer (only one year contract, I may actually be a chance since nobody with experience will take it. I however NEED more time as a Safety Guy on my CV)
Pay is 130,000 a year and I get to put a Big Corporation on my CV.
It's for a FUEL refinery. High risk , so lots of training.
I made the second interview.

I might get an offer for living in Gladstone for Pinnacle Height Safety.

Because she is not convinced that a MINING Town like Kalgoorlie (pop45000)
could make us enough money to make it worthwhile.If I can find a (Emergency/Safety Officer) job at the av rate 120-130,000 a year, that's about $7000 cash in hand per month working 8 days on 6 days off. Plus I can do it fly in/fly out of a nice city (since most mines are waaaaaay out bush)
Vs LIVING in Kalgoorlie (done that, it sucks) working 6 days a week, 3 classes a day, with no garuntee for members and all the taxes, legal crap that goes with having a gym. Plus you know, my MOTHER. She's alot like the mum from every body loves Raymond. Loves me, drives me and my wife mad.
Even with a 1 year contract with a big company like Shell that can open up many other opportunities and if you impress, that can parlay into a more permanent position either with Shell or another company.
The gym sounds great but as a business owner (non-gym), I'll tell you it sounds easier than it will turn out to be. Lots of hats to wear...operator/manager, building lease/utilities/insurance/taxes, equipment cost and maintenance, bringing in business/customers, staffing and payroll, advertising, bookkeeeping and financing. Whatever you think it's going to cost to get the business going triple it. Most small businesses fail within 3 years...so you need to have some living expenses socked away or you'll be on a shoestring. Unless your wife is onboard, that will cause marriage problems when the money is short.
Been there..done that...every phase can be highly stressful but the rewards were worth it to us. My wife and I both work at the business, so it can be doubly stressful at times but we make it work. Early on we didn't draw a salaries...now life is exceptionally good. Personally, I could never go back to work for someone else, I like my independence and my family time. I never miss anything with my daughter and that is priceless to me.

I would like at least one more person to chime in, we are at a good spot to add someone...perhaps a prisoner so the equipment is not unbalanced compared to the group's gear. To avoid the perfectly built 8th level character.
