Male Human Ranger 7/Eldeen ranger (Gatekeeper) 5/Fighter 1

Choom ducks around the corner to get out of Lightbringer's way and avoid trampling by the big metal-man. Realising that he doesn't really have much to offer in a fight, he starts looking for more traps instead.

Move to H21 (I don't have my map with me, but that's right west of the door, right?) and search for traps. Search check 16+5=21.

Choom peers at the tiles in front of him, but shakes his head - nothing.

Initiative and effects:
Runzyl: 22, Burning sword, Magic circle against evil
Kobolds: 21
Janosz: 17 Shield of faith
Gnarly: 16
Choom: 11
Lightbringer: 8 Burning sword
Bool: 8 Protection from evil
Ezreal: 7 See invisible
Rodergo: 6
Trose: 2

Now LB.

hp 73 of 156; AC 23 (29); Fort +15, Ref +8, Will +13 Warforged Paladin 9 / Exorcist of the Silver Flame 4; Effects: Bless, Airwalk, Weapon of Awe, Ironskin, Bull’s Strength

Lightbringer offers a silent prayer to the Silver Flame, asking for protection for Runzyl, and wisdom for Janosz, so that he does not next time stand in the path of a charging warforged.

He hefts his blade, Ezreal’s blue flame flaring along it’s length and roars ‘For the Flame!’ as he begins a charge across the room to smite the kobold behind the pillar.

Charge to H17, moving trough squares 122, 121, 120, H19, H18. He is aware of the blade in the floor at H17 – he attempts to avoid it if he can occupy the square and still do so, but his main focus is the enemy combatant.

Charging Smite Attack on kobold at G16. Attack: 16+8+2 (charge)+2 (smite) –1 (PA) = 27.
Damage: 10+3+5 (smite)+10 (charging smite)+2(PA) = 30.
If attack misses (god I hope not), smite attempt is not used with charging smite.

Male Human Ranger 7/Eldeen ranger (Gatekeeper) 5/Fighter 1

"Die, stupid lizard", Bool roars as he jogs up to the wounded kobold and delivers a powerful blow.

Move to I17, attacking the kobold in I16. Attack roll 15+7=AC 22, damage 9+3=12.

Ezreal

HPs: 96 / 96, APs: 11/8 Effects: Karnnathi Wizard (Universalist) 12 / Cataclysm Mage 1

Here goes nothing...
Ezreal rushes in following in a path proven safe by others only taking a chance by getting close enough to take cover behind a pillar. From there he scans the flow of the fight looking for a monk already weakened that he could finish off. As he thrusts the wand out a crackling orb sails wide over the kobold. Vol's withered tit! The bastard is quick.

MA: I22, J21 J20, J19, K18
SA: Ranged Touch 2+6 = 8 vs I16

Lightbringer charges forward, braving the trap. As he steps on to the floor between the pillars, a blade erupts from the floor, almost severing his foot. Critical hit with the blade – 20 points of damage (not including DR) (ouch!) and movement rate halved. Undeterred, the adamantine flamic warrior virtually hacks his target in half. G16 now very dead.

Bool dashes up, and as he prepares to swing another set of blades springs from the floor, horridly maiming his left foot. Another crit – 14 points of damage to Bool, and speed halved. His agonised howl, however, seems to galvanise his spirit, and his brutal chop flattens the nearest kobold. I16 now down.

Ezreal’s lightning orb sizzles off into the dark.

Everyone now inside the room (and everyone who subsequently enters) please try Spot roll, DC 18:

Spoiler:
You notice two more pairs of kobolds – one hiding round the corner to the west in C14, the other behind a pillar further into the room at G10.

Now Rod, then Trose.

HPs: 96 / 96, APs: 11/8 Effects: Karnnathi Wizard (Universalist) 12 / Cataclysm Mage 1

"Careful! They're hidden throughout the room, around the corner there," he points, "and the pillar ahead!"

Holy crap! That’ll teach me for not avoiding a trap I knew was there… At least I killed the kobold – it actually should have been 31 points, I forgot magic weapon, but I don’t think it’ll matter…

A wand with a touch spell still requires touch, so would I be correct in assuming I can deliver that touch through my familiar as I could a normal spell? Specifically repair light wounds in this instance as it would be nice to deliver at range.

Dunno - I'll say yes.

Male Human Ranger 7/Eldeen ranger (Gatekeeper) 5/Fighter 1

Son of a b%$*#! Damn resetting traps. Good thing we have them healing wands... As Trose's busy, I'm thinking he should try to disarm that particular mechanism on his turn.

(Now Trose - someone run him as he said he will be mostly unavailable this week.)

Male Human Rogue 3/Urban Ranger 1/Dragonmarked Heir 2

here for the moment

I am going to move 30' following Runzyl's path as closly as possible. Using total defense gives me an +6 to AC (with tumble) and trapsense, I have an AC 23 vs the traps, and 22 vs regular attacks.

My movement goal is to threaten the same kobold as Runzyl, not sure I can do it in 30'

You can't, unfortuntely, do it in 30'. More's the point, if you are going between the pillars there is only one square free, as the others are occupied by Bool and LB, and 30' puts you directly between the pillars at J17.

Trose tumbles beside Bool. More blades rise up as he lands, but he avoids them easily.

Now Runzyl.

Runzyl, newly replenished by Rodergo's magics, whirls his flaming blades overhead and strikes quickly at the kobold on his flank.

Full attack on I15 kobold. Attack #1: 13 + 7 = 20. Damage: 3 + 4 + 4(flaming) = 11 if hit. Attack #2: 10 + 7 + 5(AP) = 22. Damage: 2 + 2 + 6(flaming) = 10 if hit.

The kobold just ducks under Runzyl's first swing. The back swing gets it on the back of the head, and it sways, momentarily befuddled, blood pouring from a gash below its ear. The kobold staggers back, takes out a potion and drinks it.

Meanwhile, the other kobolds spotted earlier move in to attack. Those hiding around the corner rush up to Runzyl. One gets in a glancing blow with its kama, nicking the skin and introducing more poison to the elf's bloodstream - 1 point of damage, and another Fort save. The other pair, behind the pillar, move diagonally across the centre of the room and round to place themselves next to Ezreal. Kobolds now in G15, G16, L17 and L18. I15 moved to J14 to drink his potion.

Janosz.

Male Human Ranger 7/Eldeen ranger (Gatekeeper) 5/Fighter 1

There you go, lizard. Step away from the bodies that shield you. As the wounded kobold staggers backwards, Janosz shafts it twice.

Bombs away! Attack 1: Roll 12+9+1(PBS)=AC 22, damage 5+2+1(PBS)+1(magic weapon)=9. Attack 2: Roll 13=AC 23, damage 7+4=11.

The kobold staggers under the impact of the arrows and falls. J14 down.

Gnarly and Choom.

Male Human Ranger 7/Eldeen ranger (Gatekeeper) 5/Fighter 1

Gnarly spins left, rapidly firing Bess at the nearest monk.

Attack 1: Roll 7=AC meh. Attack 2: Roll 19+4=AC 23, crit confirm 17+4=AC 21=crit! Damage 9+1x2=20 points of damage! That's a beastly hit.

Choom moves a little closer to the newly arrived monks and fires at the closest one.

Move to J21. Attack roll 16+5=AC 21, damage 4. He's shooting at L17 unless L18 still stands, in which case he'll try to finish it off.

My Excel spreadsheet's on fire! I'm not looking forward to it reverting to negatives in order to even out the numbers...

“Burn in flame, Evil-doer!” intones Lightbringer, bringing his burning blade around in an arc that cleaves into and straight through the next kobold to step up.

Attack kobold in G16: nat 20+8-2 (PA) = 26. Crit confirm: 17+8-2 = 23
Damage: 7+3+1 (magic weapon)+4 (PA) + 11 (crit)+3+1+4 +6 (fire) +2 (crit fire) = 42

He then takes a 5 foot step on his mangled foot to G16.

"Bool! Protect Ezreal!"

Wow, Im doing well in this fight, apart from the traps. Pity I can’t spread that damage over more than one kobold!

hp 73 of 156; AC 23 (29); Fort +15, Ref +8, Will +13 Warforged Paladin 9 / Exorcist of the Silver Flame 4; Effects: Bless, Airwalk, Weapon of Awe, Ironskin, Bull’s Strength

Bool limps to K16 and hacks savagely at the kobold at L17.

Attack:19+7 = 26, damage: 12+3 = 15. Wow.

HPs: 96 / 96, APs: 11/8 Effects: Karnnathi Wizard (Universalist) 12 / Cataclysm Mage 1

Need to know if either of the kobolds on me are still standing before I act. Both took a serious beating just now.

Gnarly’s first bolt is wild, but his second thuds into the kobold’s eye and deep into its braincase. It collapses without a sound. Choom wings the other kobold threatening the Karrn wizard, and Bool staggers round the pillar to despatch it with a savage hack to the back of its neck and nearly severs its head, which is left dangling by a thin flap of skin at its throat.

Lightbringer invokes the Flame and then virtually pounds his foe into the ground, leaving a mess of shattered bone and pulped, sizzling flesh where it once stood.

L17, L18 and G16 all down. Now Ezreal.

HPs: 96 / 96, APs: 11/8 Effects: Karnnathi Wizard (Universalist) 12 / Cataclysm Mage 1

Ezreal barely has time to go into a defensive stance before arrows thud into the monks threatening him, and Bool savagely hacks down the last one standing. He quickly adapts completing an incantation. Three skeletal fingers streak from his outstretched hand darting between Trose and Bool to slam into the last kobold standing.

Magic Missile vs G15 (3+1, 2+1, 3+1) = 11

who's hurt? I know Bool is; LB;...LB's hard to heal. How bad is Bool, pretty bad right? I'll head for him my turn...
H18 straight move. Heal Bool 9 H.P. Burned Shield of Faith.

HPs: 96 / 96, APs: 11/8 Effects: Karnnathi Wizard (Universalist) 12 / Cataclysm Mage 1

Bool has 9 of 23 hp and half speed. I'll get LB patched up.

The last kobold falls under the arcane assault.

All kobolds down.

HPs: 96 / 96, APs: 11/8 Effects: Karnnathi Wizard (Universalist) 12 / Cataclysm Mage 1

"Nice work there Bool! And thanks for the support Gnarly, and Choom. I thought I was in trouble there for a minute." Scanning the room he adds, "This center path between the columns is heavily trapped. What about the sides."
Still on init? If there are no more threats here other than traps, I'll be be wand healing LB as we move forward checking for those traps.
My first one will be 4+1 = 5 hp for LB. I roll more once I know a gang of kobolds aren't bursting out behind more pillars.

Still on initiative.

m ROD! CLERIC 6 EXORCIST SLVR FLAME 5exp =125,535(cast as a 9th level cleric)

aah, then my healing of Bool shall stand.

Bool is actually at K16 now. You can get to L17 in one 30' move and heal him (without stepping in anything nasty) - want to do that?

(lol) I saw Janosz's post for him, then missed LB's because I was looking for Janosz to post again....dee dee dee!

Male Human Ranger 7/Eldeen ranger (Gatekeeper) 5/Fighter 1

Trose tries to disarm the trap Lightbringer is standing in. Search (to find the trigger) 8+12=20, Disable device 17+8=25.

The blade trap is pretty easy to disarm, as these things go, and it is quickly dealt with. Trap in J17 disarmed.

Runzyl.

"Someone light another sunrod," the elf says calmly as he walks over to the one already burning and kicks it further down the chamber.

Move to I13 and kick the sunrod that is burning there further up the chamber, ideally around I7. Also keeping an eye out for other kobolds.

The sunrod clatters to a halt further up the room. No more kobolds are immediately apparent.

Listen check. And now Janosz.

Janosz hears an almost imperceptible scrape of a foot on stone, the rustle of clothing, coming from the east side of the temple, towards the middle. However, this area is let by the sunrod and Runzyl's flaming sword, and there is nothing to see.

You just don't miss those perception rolls - I knew you wouldn't!.
