Male Human Ranger 7/Eldeen ranger (Gatekeeper) 5/Fighter 1

"There's something over there - I think. I can't see anything, though. Ez, you can see the unseen, right?" Janosz mutters to the mage, nodding towards the area where he heard the furtive footsteps.

Ezreal has See invisible going. Of course, it doesn't help much against a stealthy foe, but it is hard to hide in the middle of the floor.


Janosz is readying an action to shoot anything which emerges, which I guess is his action. Reprise:

Runzyl: 22, Burning sword, Magic circle against evil
Janosz: 17 Shield of faith
Gnarly: 16
Choom: 11
Lightbringer: 8 Burning sword
Bool: 8 Protection from evil
Ezreal: 7 See invisible
Rodergo: 6
Trose: 2

Now Gnarly and Choom, then LB. However, Ezreal can have a look now - he doesn't have to wait until his action.

I had a 3 on the Listen check, so for Spot... 4+2 = 6. Whoo! Kadesh Spot 2+7 = 9 So...nope.


Ezreal (not surprisingly) sees nothing out of the ordinary. He then turns his iPod even higher than before.

Addle-headed wizards... Too much exposure to mercury and sulphuric spell components, no doubt. Janosz leans a little towards the 'noise', trying to spot movement.

Spot 13+12=25. Any mysteriously appearing footprints?

Bool nods in curt thanks to Rodergo for healing him, then waits somewhat impatiently for the cleric to move, falling back into his self-appointed role as bodyguard. Bool will delay until just after Rodergo acts.

Cursing under his breath, Ezreal pulls his scroll case from his bag and begins reading as soon as he can unroll it.

The area is over by the eastern side of the chamber, about halfway up. Can you give me some coordinates for where you are dusting?

"Might as well do something useful while there's a break in the action." Trose walks over to the pile of dead kobolds surrouding Runzyl and roots through their belt pouches.

Move to H15, then taking the four dead guys' potions.

The elven warrior glances behind the pillars nearby, clearly fuming at the lack of any obvious threats. He then begins to stalk off into the antechamber, a look of grim determination on his face.

Move to D11, undoubtedly setting off multiple traps and getting myself killed. As I bring the light source with me, I'm obviously on the lookout for any sneaky lizard bastards in the area. Spot: 5 + 2 = 7. Just not very well, evidently.

Runzyl steps over to the west side of the chamber. At one point (F12) more blades spring from the floor, but this time he avoids them.

There is definately something - the light shuffle of feet, breathing, close to the east wall. Maybe more than one.

Lightbringer will take a move action to head back towards Ez, Rod and Choom, then a standard action to ready a charge towards any enemies that may reveal themselves.

I don’t have my map handy, if coordinates becomes important Aubrey can place me, or I’ll confirm tomorrow when I have my map.

Bool grips his axe tightly, ready to swing at anything that gives him a reason and keeps an eye on Rodergo.

Ready action to attack anything appearing, Delayed move action to stay within arms reach of Rodergo when the priest moves.

Ezreal's eyes dart back and forth as he strains trying to hear or see any movement in the vast hall. What are they up to? Either they are waiting for some of our spells to run down, or it's a false threat to goad us into wasting our resources. They've had enough time to take up positions... unless they are waiting for us to give them a target. With the group fanning out the mage realizes that lingering any longer is only putting the stragglers in danger. "Choom, let's go. Stay to the center away from the pillars. Mind the traps." Clutching his scrolls in one hand the Karnn mage edges forward cautiously watching and listening for any sign that might give away an enemy position.

Though he had always been more special ops than commander material, Ezreal had learned and excelled at Rekkenmark. Tactically this situation was heading into a disaster if someone didn't take charge soon. Though it wasn't his custom, Ezreal took up a postion and barked out a series of short commands to create some kind of defensible perimeter, "Lightbringer, Trose, Bool- Form up a defensive ring, east facing, Lightbringer on point. Choom, Rodergo- to me, Now!"

MA: J18, I17, I16, I15
SA: Ready to cast Magic Missile from a scroll vs any suddenly appearing hostiles.
Spot: 8+2 = 10
Listen: 18+2 = 20

What I have in mind there is a half circle with 5 foot gaps between each defender so that they threaten the maximum number of squares. Those three threaten AoO's where Janosz and Gnarly don't given their current ranged weapons.

I think you have Bool and Rod in the wrong place - they haven't moved - Rod is at L17, where he was before, and Bool might as well stay in K16.

Meanwhile, someone run Trose as he didn't post yesterday.

Hmm. How do you mean? Rodergo just moved. I have Rod in H18, until his post above puts him at L17 this turn moving him almost straight east. I was pretty sure I had Rod's position right cause I had to search back since he didn't move for a round or so. I had Bool at I17, where he was waiting for Rodergo to move. Less positive about Bool, though I had npc'd him this past round.


Rod was never in H18 - there was some confusion in combat (I can't remember why) so he went to L17 already. So Heathy's post was actually a flippant non-move. So now everyone is confused - like, thanks, Heathanson!

I found my mistake. I had scanned Rod's backposts to find his last position, but I missed where he'd moved to heal Bool because the coordinates were under an Aubrey post. Rod confirmed with a "Yeah, sounds good" which I had skimmed over. That's what I get for catching several days of moves up at once. Okay, so... Now I have to figure if my original plan made any sense :D

I'm guessing Trose is trying to avoid having to map right now due to time concern, work restrictions or whatever so...
-Choom is 20' SE of you.
-The invisibles were last heard 30' NE of you.
As long as you move at least north, you're gold.

Also- I solidly hit that spot 30' NE of you with glitterdust so they probably aren't right there anymore.

Where on body, don't know. My original is on my arm, but does it get bigger or do I get more?

Spell wise, I read it wrong, I thought it was closest in the direction I am scanning, not i know when i am scanning the right direction. No matter, I move away from choom to get a clear read.


Trose gradually moves north . As he gets to a certain point (H12) the sensation of "koboldness" becomes split between Choom and another point. But it seems strange - the "reading" comes from beyond the east wall of the chamber ("N12").

Trose, try a Will save, DC 16:

As he stares at the point from which the sensation comes, with a sudden vertiginous feeling the wall fades away, revealing five kobold monks prepared to strike. The far wall (from M8 to M13) is simply an illusion, and the chamber stretches back from that point another 20', where a simple door sits in the middle of the far east wall.

As I am immediately after Trose in init order, I'll act now if that's okay...

Hearing the warning called out by Trose, Runzyl quickly turns and crosses the hall again, placing himself between the illusory wall and Trose.

Moving to K12, avoiding F12 because I now know there is a trap there. Since I still have a Standard action left, I'll ready an action to swing at the first target in range.

Five kobold monks literally step through the wall as if it were a veil of falling water.

Try a DC 16 Will save (Trose has already made his, and can see the spoiler anyway). If you succeed:

The illusory wall fades from your vision as its disruption by the emerging kobolds destroys the spell effect for you. The wing of the chamber beyond covers the area N-Q/8-14. Other than that, it looks pretty much the same as the rest of the room. There is a door at Q11.

The monks dash down the side of the room, heading for Choom and Rodergo.

The monks move to K18, L18, M17, L16 and M16. Rodergo will get an AoO as they go past, assuming he has a weapon to hand, against one of them (take a pick of K18, L18 or M17). Then they attack.
