Runzyl Steelsong |

Enfuriated by the surprise attack, Runzyl casts his bow aside in disgust and bolts headlong into the open with a bloodcurdling scream of rage. With blinding speed, he rushes the middle of the crossbowmen's ranks, Falla Caesenri in his hand as he launches himself over the fencerow.
Run action (straight line) to AQ-63, drawing Falla Caesenri as part of the movement and dropping my bow as a free action. Activate whirling frenzy as a swift. Jump check (Acrobatics) to clear the fence: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (16) + 19 = 35. That gives me an 8 foot vertical clearance. I'm hoping the fence is less than that! Note: People with a STR mod. might find Runzyl's bow better than theirs, though it is non-magical. I draw an AoO from C2 but I'm banking on the idea that, since he's armed with a crossbow, he won't be able to take it.

Janosz Frogshanks |

"Meh... So much for cover and caution." Janosz shakes his head as Runzyl charges the warforged marksmen and then easily vaults over the wall. "The rest of you, follow him! I'll keep that one busy."
I'll take an extra attack from Rod's blessing.
5' step to BG 83 before firing on C3.
Attack 1 (w/Manyshot): 11+16+1(blessing)=AC 28, damage 2d8+6=15
Attack 2: 7+16+1=AC 24, damage 1d8+3=5
Attack 3: 14+11+1=AC 26, damage 1d8+3=8
Attack 4 (bonus from blessing): 19!+16+1=AC 36, confirm roll 11+16+1+5(action point)=AC 31, damage 1d8+3=10x3=30.
Rolund, then Basher.

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

Janosz shoots down one of the warforged just as Runzyl hurtles across the field to take them all on.
C3 down.
Stuff happens on init count: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Other stuff happens: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
EDIT: other stuff happens now.
More warforged, these ones heavily-armoured, emerge from the barns and swing at Runzyl with longswords.
F1 and F2 charged from the opposite barn, F3 emerged from the nearest one.
F1: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 2 = 28, damage 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
F2: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 2 = 21, damage 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
F3: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31, damage 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Ouch: possible crit from F3. 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22 to confirm, extra damage on confirmation 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Sir Rolund ir'Kraal |

“Damn that bastard,” Rolund curses under his breath. Whether he means Runzyl’s reckless charge or Rodergo’s blessing is unclear to those close enough to hear him.
Seeing he isn’t as nimble as the others, Rolund takes a step forward and lays covering fire for the others.
5’ step to BG/88.
Full attack at C2. Rolund will use the +2 to attack/dodge/Ref saves from blessing of fervor. Rolund will be taking a -4 penalty for shooting into a melee with friendly character (Runzyl) and a -2 penalty to range.
Attack #1: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 2 - 2 - 4 = 11. Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12.
Attack #2: 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 2 - 2 - 4 = 19. Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7.

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

Rolund opens fire with his bow, but the milling warforged combatants around Runzyl defeat his aim. Meanwhile, Basher clambers over the wall in preparation to enter the fray.
The warforged targeted by Runzyl pulls back. (Withdrawal action by C2). Meanwhile, more emerge from nearby building, firing as they come. Crossbow bolts ping off Basher's armour.
C1, C4 and C5 open fire on Basher.
C1: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 13 - 2 = 18, damage 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
C4: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 13 - 2 = 18, damage 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
C5: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 13 - 2 = 30, damage 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Potential crit on Basher: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 13 - 2 = 25 to confirm, extra damage 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4. Basher has fortification, if memory serves, so even if it confirms he has a chance of negating the extra damage.
Gil.

Runzyl Steelsong |

The warforged targeted by Runzyl pulls back. (Withdrawal action by C2).
C2 still draws an AoO. I positioned myself in that square on purpose. With a withdrawal, the FIRST square you leave is not threatened (AQ-64) but other ones still are (in this case, AP-64). Runzyl should still get an AoO, but the target will have partial cover from the building corner. Otherwise I would've put MYSELF in AP-64 to begin with, but I wanted to make sure he had no safe escape route.

Runzyl Steelsong |

AoO: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33 to hit, dealing 1d6 + 11 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 11 + (3) = 19 damage if successful. Natural 15 is a critical threat for me. Confirmation: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19 to confirm, dealing a possible 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14 extra damage. Crap.
Runzyl lashes out at the escaping warforged with his icy blade.

Gil |

Using the speed boost from the Blessing of Fervor when she moves for 60'.
Gil casts a familiar spell Haste and everyone in her area feels the familiar rush of speed in their limbs. Then she moves forward using the wall for cover to BG78. Centering the spell on Rolund's square, but above the walls so it should reach everyone - 45' range. It doesn't stack with Rodergo's buff for similar effects, so you will want to select a different option from the Fervor to get the most bang for your buck.
I have to get back to work, so someone else will have to take care of Basher's fortification roll and Bor's turn.

Lightbringer |

Lightbringer moves to BC 85 (thanks to haste) and activates Good Devotion, it affects himself, Janosz, Rolund, Rod, and Basher. DR 2/evil and attacks count as good.

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

Bor follows Runzyl's mad dash towards the warforged enemies.
With the extra movement from Haste Bor can triple move 150' (boo, heavy armour!): that gets him to AV/AW 70-71.
Bor can only triple move if he is running, which requires him to be moving in a straight line, which he isn't. So he gets a double move of 100'. I've put him as far as I can get him in that direction.
With a low crump a fireball detonates near Lightbringer.
Centred on BE-BF/87-88, it'll catch LB, Rod and Roly. As Rod and Roly have a degree of cover, they get +2 to their Reflex saves. 5d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 6, 3) = 19, DC 14 for half.
Ez.

Ezreal Farlowe |

Edging up to the wall Ezreal peers over to see the warforged ganging up on Runzyl. He begins a quick conjuration and as the rubbery black tentacles begin burrowing up through the earth the wizard shouts, "On your toes elf!"
Tentacles: target AO-AP / 62-63 intersection. 20 ft radius.
Grapple: 1d20 + 9 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 4 + 1 = 19 + 5 = 24
Last AP 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8
4 potential targets since I missed Runzyl's CMD by a lot.
Potential damages:
1 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
2 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
3 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
4 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
I'm afraid this is a bit metagamey, but we have figured out Runzyl is virtually immune to my casting of black tentacles. Only a 5% chance to grapple him though it will still be difficult terrain for him. Question now is whether a 24 can beat these guys' CMD.
I blocked the open entrance through the wall there. Sorry about that. I'd have hit the archers, but it barely impacts their attacks and makes them more difficult for us to get.

Ezreal Farlowe |

Huh. I have always overlooked this in the past. That sounds like it would preclude two handed attacks and loading/firing bows and crossbows if successfully grappled. I'll have to consider that in the future for shutting down archers. In addition, grappled creatures can take no action that requires two hands to perform.

Sir Rolund ir'Kraal |

Ref: 1d20 + 8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 3 + 2 = 23.
For those of you affected by blessing of fervor and haste:
blessing of fervor +2 attack/dodge/Ref save and haste =
* +3 to attacks (unnamed attack bonus stack)
* +3 to dodge (dodge bonuses stack)
* +3 Ref saves (dodge bonuses stack)
* +30’ movement (haste)
* extra attack with full round attack (haste)

Runzyl Steelsong |

Simultaneously fending off the blades of his foes and the tenacious tentacles in his midst, Runzyl loses himself in the red haze of furious combat. Falla Caesenri quite nearly takes on a mind of its own, dancing neatly in the Valenar's capable hands.
Full attack action, starting with F1, then moving to F2 if he dies and finally F3.
#1:1d20 + 15 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 15 + 6 = 28 to hit, dealing 1d6 + 8 + 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 8 + (3) + 6 = 20 damage.
#2:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23 to hit, dealing 1d6 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 8 + (2) = 12 damage.
#3:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16 to hit, dealing 1d6 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 8 + (3) = 14 damage.
#4:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25 to hit, dealing 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 damage.
#5:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13 to hit, dealing 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 damage.
Edit: What terrible rolls! I'll add an AP to the first roll: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7. That's a 6. I've already factored it into the hit and damage (Bladebearer of the Valenar feat).

You can't put the tentacles there, you don't have line of sight or effect as it's inside a barn. AP-AQ/62-63 is fine - you can see and effect that, so I'll put it there, and it seems to hit the targets you mentioned so maybe it is what you meant anyway.
The conjured tentacles erupt from the ground and grap the nearest warforged - the three attacking Runzyl and the retreating crossbow archer. These warforged seem skilled, and though sorely pressed by blade and tentacle Runzyl's foe only allows two attacks through its defences, parrying the others with its shield.
Rod, then Janosz.

This post wasn't showing properly for me, reply to get it showing.

Ezreal Farlowe |

Whoops. My coordinates were off, thanks. I just wanted those fighter types buried in it and crossbow guy as a bonus.
This doesn't really matter in this situation unless there are more in the barn, but as long as the target intersection is in my line of effect I was thinking it would wrap around the wall and open door into the barn since tentacles is a spread effect. How do you weigh in on that so I note what the options are in the future?

Janosz Frogshanks |

"The wizard's in the bell tower! Don't worry about him, though - I'll take care of him. Keep supporting Runzyl!"
5' step to BG 82 before firing on the spellcasting warforged. I've got both Haste and Blessing of fervour running, so I get the full load of bonuses Rolund listed above. I think he's just within my first range band - if not, I take another -2 to all attack rolls.
Attack 1 (w/Manyshot): 13+16+3(spells)=AC 32, damage 2d8+6=16
Attack 2: 11+16+3=AC 30, damage 1d8+3=8
Attack 3: 10+11+3=AC 24, damage 1d8+3=7
Attack 4 (bonus from Haste): 11+16+3=AC 30, damage 1d8+3=9.
Rolund's up, followed by Basher.

Sir Rolund ir'Kraal |

With new enemies appearing and bad marksmanship, Rolund opts to close the distance where he is overtaken by the warforged charger.
Free action: drop bow.
Double move to AV/77.
Draw sword with move action.
Basher
Double move to AM-AN/76-77.
Basher has taken 17 hps of damage from bolts.
Crossbow warforged.

Actually, he's outside your second range band, so you take -4 to hit. Plus he has cover, for an additional -4. And he has Displacement up for a 50% miss chance.
Rolling low to hit:
A1: 1d100 ⇒ 20
A2: 1d100 ⇒ 18
A3: 1d100 ⇒ 87
A4: 1d100 ⇒ 63
Janosz reckons he hit the wizard in the tower a couple of times, though at this distance it is hard to tell. The warforged ducks down out of sight.

I'd generally assume that if you can't see it, you can't target it. Spread effects, if they have line of effect, could presumably violate this general rule.

The warforged archers open up on Basher as he draws closer.
Full attack on Basher:
C1 Attack 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23, damage 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
C1 Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10, damage 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
C4 Attack 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21, damage 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
C4 Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11, damage 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
C5 Attack 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24, damage 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
C5 Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23, damage 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
They then all 5' step.
Meanwhile, C2 tries to break free of the tentacles. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24. I think he's just made it.
The archer grabbed by Ezreal's spell breaks free and makes its escape along the side of the barn.
