A game-mechanical question - are critters immune to their own poison? If Wings-of-silver hits the scorpion and uses his Justice Strike ability, he can recreate the target's natural attack - i.e. that the scorp stings itself, complete with poison awfulness. Or is this irrelevant, as the poison attack is a result of WoS' attack and the venom thus comes from him rather than the scorpion?

Delaying until after Janosz.

Runzyl looks to Janosz. "Well... are we fighting or running?"

Scorpions are not immune to their own venom. However, the scorpions' primary attack is with their claws - grab, and them sting.

"We fight. He's made up his mind, and I was getting tired of talking to these guys anyway." Janosz yanks out his flail and thwacks the scorpion's claw. "Useless beasts. They aren't much good for conversation, and while they might look a bit like lobsters, they don't taste very good either."

No move, but I use my move action to draw my flail. Attack roll 11+11=AC 22, damage 7+4=11.

Runzyl.

Needing no further explanation, Runzyl steps forward and unleashes a flurry of attacks on the nearest scorpion.

5' step to J12. Activating Whirling Frenzy.

#1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17, dealing 1d6 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 8 + (5) = 15 damage.
#2: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15, dealing 1d6 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 8 + (4) = 16 damage.
#3: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18, dealing 1d6 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 8 + (3) = 15 damage.
#4 (off-hand): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15, dealing 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 damage.
#5 (off-hand): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18, dealing 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 damage.

Wow, some craptastic rolls there.

I think you cut yourself twice with those 1s you rolled.

Wings-of-Silver
The archon follows the others lead and attacks the giant vermin. Move action: draw +1 greatsword. Standard action: attack scorpion 3 (K-M/12-14). Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24. Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 1) + 5 = 7.

Rodergo

m ROD! CLERIC 6 EXORCIST SLVR FLAME 5exp =125,535(cast as a 9th level cleric)

Rodergo pulls his morningstar and attacks the scorpion in klm 12 13 14

1d20 ⇒ 16+10=26 to hit;
1d8 + 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (7) + (2) + 3 = 12 in damage; the "2" is "fire."

"We have to get to Jalana; she's kinda all alone out there!"

Janosz connects with his flail but Runzyl's attacks merely bounce off armoured exoskeleton. Wings-of-Silver manages the lightest of glancing blows and it is left to Rodergo to show them how it is done, with a firm clout from his flame-wreathed mace.

Ez.

Astounded at the size of these monsters the mage mumbles, "Arenal... must be something in the water here..." Seizing an opportunity, he sidesteps Rodergo and kneels low in an attempt to blast an electrical burst at the underside of the aggressive scorpion.

5' step to J14
Storm Bolt 20' line 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2) = 8 electricity vs K-M/12-14

I'm in J14; IDK if that's feasible(?)

Wings-of-Silver is in J15. Except for I13 and H13-15 there is no other 5' step you can take. J12-17 is occupied by your allies and Gil is in I15.

Hm. I mistakenly had Wings in J16. Ok scrap my action and I'll have to do something else, but we are going out now, so later.

You're going to suffer an AoO from such a move if that's ok with you.

That sucks since I'm squishy, but I took my hand off the piece so to speak without noticing, so I'll stick with it.

Gil draws her Wand of Lightning and concentrates on dodging any potential attacks from the scorpion. Total Defense for an AC of 24 for one round. 5' move to I14.

Basher's pretty straightforward...

"Bash! Basher bash stupid insect!" With a tremendeous crash, Basher brings his oversized fists down on the scorpion's head.

Basher's got reach, so he does not move. Rage and full attack on the scorpion. Attack 1: 11+13=AC 24, damage 6+10=16. Attack 2: 12+13=AC 25, damage 4+10=14.

Jalana rolls out from underneath the dueling scorpions before slowly inching away from the angry behemoths.

Jalana's in a really difficult spot. As she's inside the threatened zones of two enemies, she can't just use the Withdraw action to avoid AoO's - that only works against one enemy at a time. Also, tumbling to avoid AoOs has become much harder than it used to be - it is now resisted by the opponent's CMD, where size and STR gives a bonus. As she's not all that great at tumbling, she runs a far too big risk of being picked up and stung to death. Instead, Jalana just takes a 5' step to H22 and goes on full defense, hoping the scorps pay no attention to her. She can then Withdraw next round.

His attack modifier when raging should be +14 (+5 BAB, +10 Str, -1 size). I miscalculated. Also, don't forget he has Power Attack, he can make attacks with a -2 penalty for a +4 to damage.

In that case, he hits ACs 25 and 26. As anyone who has looked at Aubrey's RotR campaign knows, I love Power Attack. But these guys have decent AC, and I'd rather hit... Maybe next round.

Lightbringer's up.

Actually, it’s Jalana’s turn.

Jalana
Finding herself separated from the main group after being trampled, Jalana carefully moves to join her allies. Standard Action: Total defense (+6 to AC due to 7 ranks in Acrobatics); Move Action: 25’ move to I17. AoOs from Scorpion 1 and Scorpion 2.

Lightbringer

Also, which scorpion is he attacking since he can reach Scorpion 3 and Scorpion 2.

I covered her in Basher's post. Looks like I'm more AoO-averse than you... Basher hits Scorpion III.

Vattnise had already posted for Jalana. Which action wins?

His. He posted first.

assuming that scorp 3 is still standing,

His sword already in hand, Lightbringer steps forward, swinging hard at the oversized arachnid.

5 foot step to L15, full attack (with power attack), flanking with Runzyl.
Attack # 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25 Damage: 2d6 + 8 + 9 ⇒ (2, 4) + 8 + 9 = 23
Attack #2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 Damage: 2d6 + 8 + 9 ⇒ (5, 3) + 8 + 9 = 25

Assuming the scorpions don’t move or kill me on their turn, I’ll post my action now before I go to sleep to continue the action.

Rolund sees the trouble the Valenar bard is in and distracts one of the scorpions to assist her escape. Move Action: draw sword. Standard Action: Aid another to AC. Aid Another against Scorpion 2: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18. Jalana’s AC boosted by another +2 against Scorpion 2’s attacks.

You can't move to there - Ez is still there, getting grappled. But the rest of the action is fine.

Ezreal moves to one side to try and get a batter view for his lightning blast. The scorpion immediately notices and a massive claw snakes out and seizes him. (10 damage, and you are grappled in I14).

Basher and Lightbringer respond with some warforged hurt, and between them they smash in the scorpion's armoured hide, spattering its innards across the trail. It collapses, dropping Ezreal as it goes into its death throes. (Scorp 3 down.)

Jalana, meanwhile, slips slightly to one side. The scorpion's ignore her, engrossed in their wrestling match, clawed legs churning up the dried leaves.

Runzyl.

Just re-read the above post - spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, sheesh..

Male Human Ranger 7/Eldeen ranger (Gatekeeper) 5/Fighter 1

"Pull back a bit and let them kill each other. If necessary, we can finish off the winner." Janosz waves at Jalana, indicating that she should keep slowly inching away from the dueling scorpions.

On my turn, I'll stow the flail and pick up my bow.

Already in the throes of frenzy, Runzyl ignores his companions' suggestions and bolts quickly to the next target.

Starting from J12, moving to J18 to Spring Attack Scorp 2. 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32, dealing 1d6 + 11 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 11 + (2) = 17 damage. After the attack, moving to I16.

m ROD! CLERIC 6 EXORCIST SLVR FLAME 5exp =125,535(cast as a 9th level cleric)

do we want Mr. Silverwings to hang out of it for a minute, per Janosz's instructions?

Meanwhile, Rod'll heal Ez
2d8 + 7 ⇒ (4, 3) + 7 = 14
burning hold person for a cure moderate wounds.

Wings-of-silver leans forward and gently touches Basher's head before launching himself into the air.

Mr. Wings casts Aid on Basher before climbing up to 30' altitude. Basher gains +1 on his attack rolls and 11 temporary hit points.

Ezreal, then Gil. As Ez was grabbed by the scorpion, he's in I14 and Gil's in I15.

That's where the bait-pigs are staked, you might find another spot more inviting.

Assuming Ez' action doesn't preclude this:
Gil will move 5' to J15 and ready an action to use the Wand of Lightning on the scorpions if either moves toward the party.

I think we can move into that square, it just counts as difficult terrain. Same with bushes.

H18, then, if I can't occupy I16.

Runzyl dances down the path to slash the rear end of the nearest scorpion (that's scorpion 1, by the way, not scorpion 2).

Basher, then Jalana, then LB.

Runzyl, as LB pointed out, you can enter the square, it's just difficult terrain, so I thought you might prefer to take a different position. Sorry I wasn't more clear.

Ooops, apologies: Ez, then Basher, then Jalana, then LB.

Other than some rips in his jacket Ezreal appears to be fine after Xativa's prayer. With the path choked and not willing to get snatched again, he slips past Gil chanting on the move. As his skin deadens into a rubbery gray, he turns to observe the death match between the two scorpions.

I wasn't sure. His sheet shows he is, but it may just be out of date. How about Basher? I could just move 5' more towards him and apply the healing there.

I think he is OK too. You could draw something else, like a scroll or a different wand. Or you could cast a spell - Runzyl seems intent on continuing the fight - probably an ancestor fought giant scorpions or something.
