Look at whisper's tab above for the answer to the intelligence check

You find that your knowledge of nature seems to be useless here as you feel the stone you can tell it was carved into this shape and was not a natural formation. Touching the stone you can feel indentations, deliberate ones. You can't make out what they are in the darkness though.

Badger was not afraid to move cautiously at times. It had nothing to do with bravery.

Inquisitors that didn't take caution with their work didn't tend to live long enough to pass on what they had learned. Given the type of work they were involved in, Running was an almost mandatory skill of their training.

Before Malstei investigates, Whisper answers Badger: "Simple pressure trap ((add in any other details the GM allows)). I keep'em from working, I don't know how to take'em apart properly, but you want to try, be my guest. I'd rather reset it in case someone closes in on us from behind, but I won't turn down a profit on selling parts either."

Whisper takes in a sharp breath as they continue to review the situation. "That's it--the pretty boy statue. Make it uglier and we'd have the high priest whatsit from that dream-vision thing."

As they set up, Whisper finds a patch of dim light away from Badger's sunrod to hide in and readies her hand crossbow.

You notice that the doors are old wooden doors. Very solid, though it appears they had taken a beating years ago. Loads of holes, slashes, dents from all kinds of weapons. It's also quite obvvious that it was once barricaded from this side but everything has been removed and there has been recent activity here.

The Anechamber is very small. It's only 20 by 30 foot.

Map

Not sure I missed it, but if someone has struck up a sunrod then the room lights up very well and the pictures on the wall become revealed and clear.

Knowledge Religion (for the inscriptions on the walls.)

DC 17::
These pictures involve the fall of Bhaal during the time of troubles, depicted with a sword going straight through his chest and all his evil power errupting from his eyes and face in a dark smoke firing of into different roughly drawn humanoid bodies.

DC 19::
These are possibly the people known as Bhaal spawn, mortal children of the deity. The opposing wall shows all those figures with their heads removed, revealing that they are dead and all the power from them being focused onto a female that looks like a elf.

DC 21::
The final drawings lead up to a depiction of two people sat upon thrones, positioned directly above the wooden doors. The elf is sitting on one throne and a man on the other. The thrones are both made of blood and bone. The man sat next to her, possibly her husband due to the symbols around the two is the Lord of the Black Gauntlet, Bane.

"Not a clue." he says with a shrug. "But Wisper is right about the statue. Ugly it up a little and we have our kindly priestly figure from the 'dream'."

Kyras, Whisper's not doing anything with the trap right now. It's not an active trap. She suggested re-setting it to trap anyone following them, but Badger suggested taking it apart to use its parts later. No one made any final decision about it, so she let it be and has taken position as Malstei enters further into the chamber. If you would like to try to re-set the trap yourself, be my guest.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

Malstei:

It's unusually quiet, though you do hear some shuffling of feet in different areas beyond the door. You can also hear some distance hissing.

Whisper:

The statue appears to have been made many, many years ago, back when this temple was new however the stone appears to have remained immaculate against the rest of the walls and the floor. You can only assume that there is some kind of magic keeping it solid, but you have no idea what magic.

Kyras you attempt to get the trap set again, but it seems you find it's more complex than you imagined and gail to set it effectively.

Mal walks over back towards his companions and whispers, "There is some movement in there, the shuffling feet may be the undead we were warned of. There is a hissing as well, perhaps Kobolds? It seems they are not aware of us yet, I will open the doors, let's use our ranged weaponry to our advantage". Mal holds up to see if anyone objects before returning to the door, anticipating the action makes him tense in excitement.

With a shrug and an 'okey' Kyras preps a bomb and waits expectantly for Mal to continue.

Male Gnome Inquisitor 2

Badger nods at Mal's plan.

He levels the heavy crossbow preparing to get a solid shot off before having to switch to other tactics.

Held action for when Mal opens the door to fire on the people beyond. Kobolds and goblinoids are Badger's first choice of target do to his gnomish hatred for such creatures.

"The statue's old as the temple itself, I'd reckon. A few decades. But some magic's keepin' it tidy.

As Malstei readies to open the door, Whisper impatiently nods her agreement that he do so.

Male Moon Elf HP = 26/26, AC=, F+3 | R+6 | W+3 (+5 vs. Enchantment Spells) , Per +9, Ini. +9

Malstei stalks back over to the doors and (pulls/pushes) them open quickly steping to his left and taking cover next to the doorway while raising his bow ready to fire in at the adversaries.

I want to target live enemies with my arrows.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

Okey, noted :)

As the doors are opened with a loud creek you can see the very church area that was in your dreams, but you're on the opposite side of the room. You can see a single corpse standing in the middle of the room and three others shuffling around with a single figure, also from you're dream with a bald head and he appears to be the source of the hissing and as he sees the doors open, smirks widly revealing sharp yellow teeth.
"Welcome. It's been a while since we've had some new blood, well...there was the meal last night." he smirks and whips his mouth with his obviously dirty robe and remains standing behind his alter as he looks at you wall. "Who sent you? A woreshipper of Bane, I hope." he remains standing and the undead in the room all turn ot the door, but doesn't do anything. They just stare with hunger at the group, looking at them through dead eyes and now you can tell the strong smell of rotten flesh exiting the room in you're direction.

Be back later. My RL game is starting soon.

Spoiler:

See my note in ooc discussion thread.

Whisper's instinct is to step out and shoot the guy in the face while he's talking.

Different players have different preferences--some would prefer to talk ooc before doing something like that, some are cool with people doing what their character-muse tells them. Hence my checking before I just go with it.

IF all are okay, Whisper will reach out and fire a bolt at Ugly Bald Dude. After firing, she will reply, "No, your last meal sent us."

If she needs her move action to step out to get line of sight on him, fine. If she does not need a move action to do so, her move action will be to pull out a potion of holy water from her belt.

If she surprises him with this move, she should get sneak attack damage if he is within 30' feet and he is flatfooted.

Map

This is roughly where I gaged where you guys are.

Gridded:

Map 1

Map 2

The guy whisper is aiming for is effectively 135feet away from her. As the maps point out there is a undead in between the pews and a few others in different parts.

Looking around the group as he mutters something unintelligable and gulping down a brownish liquid Kyras will wait for the snake-thing passes him before heading into the room.

Delay action after TzeTing, cast shield then move 4sq east.

Male Gnome Inquisitor 2

Badger spots the undead between the rows of pews. He'd like to go for the priest at the back of the temple but the range is a bit far for him to feel comfortable with the shot. It was better to let fly at the closer danger first.

Swift Action to activate Judgement and Choose Destruction for +1 sacred bonus on damage

I make the range around 90' to the undead on map 1 that is standing in the aisle. Hvy Crossbow has range increment of 120'; so, no penalty for range but -2 for being Medium size fired by a Small character. After the shot, Badger will drop the Hvy Crossbow and ready his sling (move action).

Hvy Crossbow to hit 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4

Hvy Crossbow damage 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Surprise Action, pre Round 1

Move action to be standing in the south doorway square--to get better shot at dude--as I had said she would move to see him better if she needed to

Attack w/ range increment penalty: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12

If on the amazing off chance, damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

If applicable, sneak attack: 1d6 ⇒ 6

ETA: I have a feeling Whisper's going to have all her good rolls on Skill checks (NOT that I mind that; she's designed to be a decent skillmonkey) and sneak attacks that don't hit. Next time I'll hold off to roll damage. ;) Not that I'll complain about a roll of 13 most days, but I doubt that hit.

It's a free action to talk or even tell your creature what to do. Not to mention my understanding is you have a connection with it, so it can go out and attack if you wish it to.

Badger Woods:

When you look at the bald thing you now realise when it spoke it has yellow sharp fangs and is the source of the odre. Training in the holy ways of combatting undead you realise that this thing that's talking is not human. It is a foul undead that feasts of the flesh of undead. It is a Ghoul.

TzeTing raises his firey head, hissing at the open door, then slides gracefully to be opposite Mal, ready to attack anyone that comes out through the doors, as he hides behind the wall to the south of the door. He cedes this position for any party member that comes to stand there, moving diagonally away and south from the current position.

The previous post was really just to say that TzeTing now has his own alias, didn't really mean it as a combat type activity. I know the pics of a fire elemental, but its closest to the excitement of colour that is TzeTing.

Heh...err...okey well I assume that Malstei's attack was done in Round 2, if so then he either attacked the other undead or he might want to change his action because after Whisper's holy water attack the ghoul is destroyed so Whisper's round 2 should be rethought or aimed at the nearest undead.

The Ghoul rots away and burns as it is hit by the flask of holy water and it explodes in dark energy. No one takes any damage but you have the feling of a familiar essance leave the room where the smoke goes out of the ghoul's body and dissappears out of the entrance in a rush. A the same time the statue that appeared to have been solid after all these years suddenly decays repidly and crumbles to peices.

As this happens you see all the zombies visably become wild and random like zombies normally are. Their leader has been destroyed and they all start to try and clamber over each other on their way towards the group.
