Round 2
Initiative:
Man: 17
Whisper: 17
Malstaei:16
Badger: 11
Kyras: 8
The man decides to strike out at Whisper.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
He managed to cut at your face for only 1 point of damage. Clearly the cut isn't very deep, but he wanted to cause a lot more harm.
DM Aron Marczylo
sorry I didn't post for a while. I didn't notice Kyras put both attacks in the same post. My mistake.
Whisper Blueflame
Whisper winces at the pain; however minor the slice, that HURT. Screw mercy and tactics! She whirls about her short sword to strike him with her blade, while drawing the other short sword at her hip.
Attack, flanking: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 2d6d6 - 1d1d6 ⇒ (2) + (1, 1, 3, 1, 2, 3, 6) - (3) = 16
Move action: draw other sword
BTW, you gave Kyras a note that he knew this guy was a Zhent. Did you maybe mean it for me or someone else, since I made the Knowledge Local roll?
DM Aron Marczylo
Yes you're right. It was you that made the check afterall and it should've been you that knew it. My mistake. Heh, funny dice roll there. Also I thought you had both blades out, well you would've had both blades out. Well eitherway the flanking will help Kyras :)
He cries out in pain as he is stabbed in a soft spot you aimed for and he appwears to be in quite some pain. He's still standing though.
Malstei Alenuath
If he is still in the wagon I probably cannot see him, if he pokes his head out I will shoot at him. I want to avoid shooting into melee at the moment if I can. I assume I will be within 30' if I get a shot.
Ranged Attack - 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Arrow Damage - 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
DM Aron Marczylo
Forgot the Caravan Driver
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
the driver gets out of the way and calls for everyone to take him down. He looks up back to the village and visable sighs.
"This was meant to be a simple trip. So close." he stares at this man in the back and draws his blade ready if he attempts to get outside, making his way around the caravan to get to the back.
Kyras Quinta
Seeing the man in a frenzie make Kyras forgett any plans of subdueing him. As the man is turning his back on him he uses the oportunity to lunge at him.
attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
dmg 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Yeah, sorry. I asumed you gave Kyras the spoiler on account of his background. It didn't make any sence to me so I decided to shout it out.
DM Aron Marczylo
save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
"You fools! You mess with Bane's plan to rule this world-"
Hit by the daze the man stops his attacks with a clearly dizzy head, however he seems aware enough of the surrounding environment not to make him a easier target.
Whisper Blueflame
"Oh, alright." Disappointed but knowing Malstei has a point, Whisper once again spins her blades about and takes a crack at his head with both pommels this time. "Bane can suck my ((word in the Abyssal tongue that is best left untranslated))."
Attack 1, with flanking bonus and TWF and nonlethal attack penalties1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16
Attack 2, etc.1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
I'll roll nonlethal damage just in case #1 hit, but I don't think it did:1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Sneak Attack:1d6 ⇒ 6
Whisper will mention the Zhents once she has a chance to look over his stuff

You almost manage to hit him, but he just seems to be too fast for you, dodging at the last minute, though he is still dazed and he was unable to strike at you earlier.
DM Aron Marczylo
I'll take my chances stabilizing the man's wounds after he's stopped moving.
regular swing with mace. If Badger gets a flank bonus then I'll leave it for the DM to apply.
Swing to hit 1d20+0
Light Mace, small 1d4-1
Yep, you manage to hit him, but he's still standing and looking strong, struggling with the daze still.
Malthei still hasn't take his action. All he did was speak.
DM Aron Marczylo
The caravan driver enters the back, using a full round action to get inside with his sword at his side and looking at the combat which he thinks is going well since the man is only armed with a knife.
"Kill that Bane woreshipper! We can take his body to the authorities." he cries out, clearly wanting to see this man fall to the floor and bleed.
DM Aron Marczylo
Badger Woods wrote:Badger will choose Aid Other on his next round to aid Whisper.attack roll for Aid Other when my turn in the initiative comes around. 1d20+1
according to the rules it's AC 10 so yep that hits. That should mean next round whisper will be able to benifit from it if she moves into psotion this or next round.
DM Aron Marczylo
"Do not kill him, he clearly knows something about the troubles of Beregost!" shouts Mal as he tries to position himself correctly to deal with the man if he manages to get out of the wagon.
Is that the only actions you'll take this round or as you willing to try and fire in combat? You might want to bring out a mellee weapon if you have one.
Badger Woods
'Someone gut the man. I'll make sure that what's left doesn't bleed out till we can take his body to the authorities.'
A worshiper of Bane, who'd have thought to find one of them mixed up in this disappearance of children. The temple authorities would have much to ask of this man and he'd have much to answer.
If worse came to worse, they'd haul his corpse to a temple, and Badger was sure the priests would question the dead man's spirit to get some answers on where the children might be located.
Badger though hoped his blessings from Grandfather Raccoon would be more than enough to keep too much blood from staining the wood of the cart.
Should I instead aid my dogs to attack to help get things rolling or give it another 24 hours to 48 hours for one of the others to post?

** spoiler omitted **
Seems like weekend is dead for most people since no one has replied yesterday. It's meant to be the bad guy first, then whisper and everyone else. At the moment though, you guys can tell he's very fast and evasive.
DM Aron Marczylo
I'm just waiting on the results on my fumble. A round summary would help speed us along I think.
Sorry didn't know about the fumble thing. I saw you roll for it but I have no idea how it's ruled...I'll look it up in just a second. Edit: I cannot find a rule on Fumbling. You just had a really bad miss. -2 if I remember correctly but there appears to be no rule talking about fumbles so I rule it as just a bad miss.
Smerg
DnD traditionally doesn't have fumbles. A roll of 1 is sometimes taken as an auto-miss but in 3.0 this was removed for even skills making it possible for someone very skilled to roll a 1 and still succeed. Fumble tables for DnD are a House Rule that varies from group (and is usually specified by the DM on if and how it is being used) and is not a core rule in Pathfinder. A player though is always able to interpret the results of a die roll in any way that makes sense for their character.
Kyras Quinta
My bad then. Never been in a game were the DM doesn't gleefully declare some mishap on a fumble. Anyway.
The assassins block of Kyras's clumsy stab is so masterfull the Kyrs comes close to stabbing himself in the eye.
Shocked at how clearly the assassin outclasses them in a fight gives him pause. The devlish speed and strength of the man seem otherworldly. How can we fight such a demon? he wonderd.
His reactions, superb. His defence, almost perfect. His ferocity, in-human. Then the shock on his face of nearly loosing his eye, drains away as realization hits.
Remembering his earlyest days in the alchemical laboratory, a clear mental picture of him reaching into a cage to grab the frightend animal there. Like a cornered rat! Desparate! We have him! He thinks as he takes another desperate lunge at the assassin.
attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14, damage 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Missed I'm afraid, plus the rules say you can't do less than 1 damage so don't worry if you get a roll like that again :)
Next round actions will be, since Malstei hasn't acted yet the man to try and stab at the Inquisitor who dared to insult the name of Bane.
"Mystra will die when Bane's plan is complete you dirty little Gnome!"
He thrusts his dagger towards the Gnome
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
1d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
He manages to just hit you. For a moment it looked like he found a artery, but he missed and only managed to lightly cut you.
Round 3
Initiative:
Man: 17
Whisper: 17
Malstaei:16
Badger: 11
Kyras: 8
I assume Malstaei wants to continue to avoid firing into combat since he's seen what happened to the orc when missing badly when firing into combat.
DM Aron Marczylo
Mal is still waiting for an opening -4 to hit and the chance of hitting his comrades stays his hand.
Okey then it's over to whisper since everyone else has done their actions besides the caravan man who goes after her.
DM Aron Marczylo
This man moves like an eel! Kyras thinks indignantly as he lunges again gritting his teeth in frustration.
attack 1d20+1 damage 1d4-1
Confirm the crit? :D Edit: Ninja'd
Whisper Blueflame
Whisper curses and decides to try a different tactic--he'll have trouble dodging everyone if she wrestles him to the ground. She dives and tries to grab him around the waist, using Badger's additional distractions to help her find an opportune moment to try to gain a hold.
"Dogpile him!"
Grapple Attempt (will provoke an AOO) with the Aid Another bonus: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
ETA: Forgot: she will drop both her weapons first (to avoid penalty for not having hands free)
Badger Woods
Badger spits blood from a nasty cut on the face. His hat now bore a nasty slice in it from a shot that almost carved his eyeball. It was a good thing that gnomes were short.
'Hey, that was my best hat.!
HP = 5 - 2 = 3
If Whisper succeeds in grappling the man then Badger will order his dogs in to snap at the man; otherwise, he will continue to aid Whisper in attacking.
Attack to Aid Whisper or aid Fox in attack if Whisper in grapple 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Fox's Attack if Whisper grappled the man. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Fox Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Hunter's Attack if Whisper grappled the man. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Hunter's Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
DM Aron Marczylo
He is grappled by whisper and then bitten by one of the dogs. He tried to struggle out of Whisper's hold, but it unable to allowing everyone else to hit him with ease.
Been a while so you should know his AC was 17, but now that he's being grappled it's now 13. Just as whisper said, dogpile!
The driver clearly has no motivation to keep the man alive and stabs out at him.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
1d8 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
DM Aron Marczylo
Lol, who else is meant to go, the Gnome I believe? Actually wait, the driver too.
The driver doesn't care to listen to reason about trying to subdue the man and lunges in to try and cut him down.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
1d8 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
The "Zhent" agent as everyone was calling him takes the blow hard and Whisper can feel that he has physically weakened and that he's knocking on death's door with blood dripping from his mouth.
Perception check

perception 1d20+5
Damn your high perfeception rolls
You noticed just as the man stabbed this Zhent agent there was a breif look of concern. So breif most people missed it.

Badger will aid Fox in attacking unless the man is in the negative hp area where he will administer Stabilize to keep the man alive but unconsious. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

After fox's bite attack the man loses conciousness, falling helplessly to the floor and sliding out of Whisper's grasp, provided she lets go of the body for it to fall to the floor and he starts to bleed out of the horrible bite mark the dog made, going straight for hus jugular. His knife fell and bounced a bit when he lost conciousness. It appears to be a simple dagger, nothing more.
If you want to satabalise him you can either heal him, though you don't know how far into negative he is or you can do a Heal check at DC 15.
You also all gain 300 xp

Mal hops into the wagon and lays his hand upon him. I use Stabilizing Touch to stop his wounds.
"We should bind him, but the question is do we interrogate him here or bring him into Beregost?" Mal looks at the group waiting for a reply.

Your touch of pure energy that flows through your body freely stabalises him, Malstaei. He has stopped bleeding out and remains on the ground completely harmless.
The caravan driver looks to him and points with his sword up ahead.
"Beregost is less than a minute away. We are already so close we might as well head there before another bleeding distraction appears!" he clearly looks annoyed and sheaths his sword, heading straight at the front to start off again.
Badger Woods
'I agree, Beregost and the authorities there are the clear place to start. The man clearly knows something on the disappearance of the children from the town. His calls of Bane means that there is likely a temple of that's damned god's followers around here too.'/b]
[b]'Finding that temple or altar where they plan to sacrifice the missing children would be twice the headache without the link this man can provide. Questioning though is an art best done under the supervision of enough guards and priests to make sure the man neither escapes or bleeds to death under the asking.'
This time, Badger will want to ride close to the wagon to make sure nothing happened.
Anything with that perception check that I made?
Whisper Blueflame
Whisper takes some time to find some rope or leather straps and hogties him as securely as possible, gagging his mouth as well. She probably finishes after the wagon proceeds to move again.
The tiefling addresses Badger, while still keeping both her feet atop their bound criminal.
"Those coins ya found, Shorty. They're from Zhentil Keep, I'm pretty damned sure. We're not just talkin' bog-standard Bane worshippers, we're talking the cream of the psycho mercenary crop.
At any rate, the Flaming Fist'll definitely want to know about this--and hopefully pay well for it, too. If anything this guy said was true, it was that he was trying to stay outta their sights."
DM Aron Marczylo

ah yes I missed it. Read the spoiler I gave Kyras.
"About time. Once we get inside I'll take you all to the Jovil Juggler. It's a more friendly, but also expensive place. Any guard of flaming fist mercinary worth his salt will be in there." he starts off the horse again, sighing as the group headed on, soon arriving at the gates.
The guards appear very tired as if they have not been relieved off duty for many hours, perhaps days. They smile as the merchant introduces himself and claims to be bringing up iron ore from Nashkel.
"I'll call the guard to help unpack your goods. The smith 'as been complaining about you and wants the ore at his shop."
"Well my good sir, will you please inform the one who is in charge of the Flaming Fist to come down here. This group has something they wish to discuss."
The guard leaves and the gate opens slowly, allowing everyone in, though the guards do look at the Gnome with interest as he appears to have large dangerous looking dogs with blood in their fur.
If she's visable.
The guards look at the Tiefling, not knowing what she is and not really seeing any obvious difference between her and others who have arrived here. The merchant gets up and hands out to everyone their gold.
"I agreed on 100 gold each, however due to the danger and the times you have saved my life I shall give you a bonus." He gives you all 150 gold peices.
As you look around the town you notice how quiet it is. You hear nothing and that's what is most frightening. Most towns at this time would have the majority of the town's men in the Inns, drinking merrilly and children returning home from playing outside or some of the old ones would still be playing as it isn't that dark yet, but there seems to be no activity apart from the guards whom some look like they're about to drop off and others have fallen asleep whilst sitting down. There is a single Elf male standing nearby and watching the group with interest, dressed in a Cleric's habbit and holding onto his holy symbol.
Knowledge Religion check if interested in the holy symbol.
The guard returns, looking around the group and the caravan.
"Captain Frakes wants to know why you all want to speak to him. He's very busy trying to find the kidnapper or kidnappers." the guard sighs heavily and rubs his eyes. You all get the sense that he's been having a hard time.
Sorry if that was going a bit fast there. You're safely in the town now though :)
