A nasty looking Gnoll with a Guisarme in his hands, approching Mal and wanting to make sure that he can reach Mal. Swinging the blade he completely misses, slicing through the air. It looks like a nasty weapon and glad it missed you.
The Hobgoblin takes his time aiming and Mal as he is the only visable one and the bolt sticks itself into a wall.
TzTing tears the nasty chunk off the Kobold, watching it fall to the floor bleeding out. This beast is something Kobolds have never seen before and they appear very frightened by it.
Mal and Whisper, you're up. Also, not sure where to put TzeTing since 8 east and 5 south puts him off the map.
The character north of the firepit (red thing near the hobgoblin) is in a cage and it's the girl that was preciously crying. She's a young half-elf child and has tear stained cheeks as she looks over at what's going on, not crying any longer. The bloodied pile that you also can't see is a pile of bones and partially cut up children. As you notice this above the firepit is meat roasting that appears to be a human child's arm. The thoughts at the back of your mind can explain to you exactly the dark reason why the meat is being roasted as it has obvious bite marks in it.

Can't open the map at work.
Mal stays stationary drops his sword and pulls his bow as he does not want to approach any closer to the foe with the reach weapon. He fires an arrow at the Gnoll.
Ranged Attack - 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Ranged Damage - 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

You can't fire ranged with two kobolds threatening you and the Gnoll with the reach weapon is threatening you too. It'd be best to either fight with the sword, or since both the Kobolds on the left side (back where you entered) are on the ground then you can full withdrawl and attack next round.

The < are the stairs. The capital letters are the PCs, according to their first initials. The p is the pile of clothes. The ds are Badger's dogs. t is Tze Ting. 1 and 2 are the kobolds. The g is the gnoll. All the underscores are blank floor. Ignore the dots, that's just to space the post so my icon doesn't truncate the "drawing."
As you can see, the kobolds moved--as our DM says, if you fired your bow, you would provoke AOOS from the two kobolds and the gnoll -- UNLESS you 5' stepped back to stand to Solaria's left or to stand below Tze Ting--but then that would open up your space so that the enemies could engage the Summoner.
I will go ahead and post Whisper's action, as this won't affect much of anything.
Seeing that her way to the enemies are blocked and that she can't yet see them very clearly, and the melee that looks like it is about to ensue will keep her from getting a clear shot even if she reloaded her crossbow, Whisper decides to prepare instead for future action.
She re-holsters her crossbow ( move action) and drinks her potion of bear's endurance (standard action, granting her a temporary Con of 18, raising her current and max HP to 12, and giving her a bonus of +2 to Fort saves (for a total of +4); this will last for the next 3 minutes ), and slowly, carefully inches closer to the combat, so that she is standing 10 feet away from Kyras (5' step "southeast"; she should be on the same "row" as Kyras with one blank square between them), her rapier still at the ready in her other hand.
If this is acceptable, the map should look like this:

TzeTing
Aron, on the current map I had TzeTing going to where the Gnoll looks like he's standing now . But that's OK, I'll have TzeTing where you have him, then it won't disrupt the flow. I had the black square top north west of map as 1 E, 1S so then from there count 7 more East = 8E and then down the map south 5 was how I got there. If this explanation helps?
If I could move Solaria back 3 spaces to the west(left), that is where I placed her, so she could get a shot at something next round.(3,4)
David Rowe 95
Oh, and Mal if you were wondering on how the two kobold got past you; they didn't. Badger's dogs and TzeTing ate the first pair of kobolds that originally came through the door. The two kobold between you and the gnoll are the second wave. There is a third wave of something lurking slightly deeper in the room past the kobolds and gnoll.
This is Smerg aka Badger redotting since my dot seems to have gone away.
Malstei Alenuath
Thanks for the clarification guys!
Mal will steel himself for the first wave and strike again at one of the kobolds, come on go down .

reposting of Whisper's action for the round. Reholster crossbow. Drink potion of Bear's Endurance. 5' step southeast to same row that Kyras is in but more to the left on the map.

Dammit I had posted but it then said Piazo went down.
The 3rd Kobold goes down under Mal's attack and the final one looks very scared and the others in the room look very angry. The human points the end of his rapier at the group.
"Who are you people? Were you sent by the Xanther? Zhentarium? Some other organisation that wants in on the money?" he narrows his eyes at the group, not sure what to expect.

TzeTing barred from progressing forward by the Kobold in front, raises himself shaking his body high, then descends down on the kobold, teeth barred, his mouth slobbering. At the same time his tail sweeps round aimed at the kobolds head.
Bite 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Tail Slam 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 17 Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Solaria Jesari
Solaria seeing the kobold attacking her friend Mal, decides to loose a bolt at the evil enemy. She lets loose a bolt and reloads ready for the next target.
Light crossbow 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 Damage 1d6 ⇒ 4
Hearing the human voice, she looks up, but decides that her voice is not strong enough to bear the weight of negotiation or conflict.
Badger Woods
Badger directs Victor to move him beside Solaria and behind his row of dogs Fox and Hunter. He pulls a scroll and begins to mumble some words at the Gnoll.
Movement is SW to W to SW or using a phone pad as reference 7 to 4 to 7. Solaria should be directly above me, my dogs should be to the right of me. I should be in the same row as the Gnoll at range of 25' or 5 squares.
Ride Check DC 10 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Using one of my scrolls to cast Command on the Gnoll with the order of 'Approach'. DC is Will Save with DC 11. I've included the URL reference for the spell. Badger meets all three requirements for casting the spell (Divine, Spell List, and Level Ability). Approach will have the Gnoll come by the most direct path towards Badger provoking attacks of opportunity as he does so. If the spell works, the gnoll should attempt to move through Mal's square and then head around or through one of the dog's squares. This is a language dependant spell; so, choosing the language Goblin (because previously heard an order given to the gnoll in goblin) which is one of the languages Badger speaks.
DM Aron Marczylo
The explosion of Kyras's bomb hits and kills the Kobold, knock it down to the ground. The Gnoll takes the full hit and looks pissed off too. The rogue takes a 5ft step to the west, dropping his sword and taking out his light crossbow to load.
Solaria you can change you're action because the Kobold is down. Same for TzeTing.
The Gnoll's expression changes at Badger's spell and it stares at him, waiting on command. It follows your command and walks past Mal and Taz provoking an attack of Oppitunity and then past Kyras and through a threatened square one of Bager's dog's has provoking AOOs from them too.
The Hobgoblin fires a bolt right at Mal, but misses completely. The Bolt sticks itself into a wall near him and he curses as he goes back to loading the next shot.
Sorry for the late reply today. Piazo has been f&++ing up badly. I've been seeing the store blog far too many times today. More than I've ever seen the gamer connection fourms perhaps. Trying to tie up combat before I head out.
Malstei Alenuath
Great teamwork Guys!
"Not everything is about money", Mal spits disgustedly.
Mal uses the Gnolls disadvantage to his own advantage swinging his longsword at the foe.
Melee Attack - 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Melee Damage - 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Seeing his way clear for a shot, Mal drops his sword pulls his bow and takes his aim at the Hobgoblin loosing a shot.
Ranged Attack - 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Ranged Damage - 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Solaria Jesari
Last round, Solaria would take a 5ft step and shoot at the enemy hobgoblin target she can see. If she needs to take a 5ft step to get a target she will.
With Kobold down, TzeTing moves forward 5ft and attacks the Gnoll, full attack. Taking an AoO if he must.
Whisper Blueflame
In apparent response to Malstei, Whisper responds lightly, "Most things are."
Whisper draws her short sword with her free hand (move action).
She takes a short step to be directly north of the gnoll (if I have pictured everyone's movements appropriately) ( 5' step), flanking him with one of Badger's dogs...
and stabs at him with her rapier (standard action).
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Sneak Attack due to flanking: 1d6 ⇒ 3
ETA:Oooh, potential crit! Confirm roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
If that confirms, additional die of damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
This is how I am picturing the scene at the end of Whisper's turn, which is what led to my action: please let me know if I am off. I changed the p to an @ for the clothes. The h is the hobgoblin and the r is the rogue;the commas are the children/corpses

Heh...this is getting silly butt Mal killed the Gnoll as soon as it stepped past him so Whisper gets to act once again.
The arrow from Mal bounces off the Hobgoblin's thick armour and falls to the floor, not effecting him and making him laugh at the attempt.

Okay, Whisper will move so she is standing in the space directly north of Tzeting. And she will enter Total Defense (gains +4 dodge bonus to AC until the start of her next turn). Note she only has her rapier in hand.

Solaria moves forward to touch TzeTing saying a few arcane words "Gratiah grolish." As she touchs TzeTing a white glow moves from her finger and enters TzeTings body, making her scales shimmer with new color.
Casts Guidance on TzeTing, if she cannot reach TzeTing to touch, she will toch the nearest friendly combatant.
Badger Woods
'Let's finish this'
Badger growls at his dogs and they race forward through the doorway before turning up and around the fire to surround the Hobgoblin.
Badger spends his last round for the day of speaking to animals from his domain benefit to order Fox and Hunter to follow Victor. Double move gives 80' of movement. Movement is through the doors and then upwards towards the prisoners and then down around the fire to corner the Hobgoblin. Fighting defensively for the +2 to AC as part of a full round action (can't do Full Defensive because using my standard action for a second move action). The aim is to flank the Hobgoblin and drive him towards the rest of the party.
Shouldn't have to worry on AoO as Hobgoblin has missle weapon currently out but I'll have the group move around and then into the spaces next to him just to make sure since we have the movement to do it.
DM Aron Marczylo
The bomb misses and nearly catches the poor girl in the cage with the explosion. She appears abssolutly terrified, more than before and the rogue aims for mal and fires the arrow.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

He hits Mal with a bolt from his crossbow and re-loads.
the human is about 40 ft away.
Whisper Blueflame
"Don't hit the hostages, Kyras!" Whisper hisses, as she herself charges the hobgoblin.
Charge and attack hobgoblin with rapier: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Note Whisper is now -2 to AC (AC 13) until her next turn due to charging.
Based on everyone's moves, this is where I have everyone. NOTE: these are just ASCII characters. Please feel free to copy paste into your own posts to show where you moved to eliminate confusion. ALSO, it may help to copy-paste into notepad, where the characters display evenly (ETA: I also just noticed it displays evenly when you hit "edit"). Remember Whisper is the capital T, TzeTing is the lower case t.
DM ARON: As of your last map, you had the rogue directly south of the hobgoblin, to the immediate right of the fire and 1 square down. Where Tzeting was, that was only 20 feet away. Did I miss you post a move? If he was 40' away, he would have been in the far bottom right corner of the room. As it is, I have assumed he 5 foot stepped backward to step away from Tzeting to fire his weapon, hence the positioning I have below. Please clarify, correct, and adjust as need be. Thanks! (And thanks so much for checking in while vacationing!! That's "above and beyond" the call of duty.)

If TzeTing was 40ft away from the human last time he would have charged the human, if only 20ft then it would be as it is.
TzeTing seeing his enemy in front of him, crouches in front darting his head forward showing his white and shiny razor sharp teeth, before clamping them on the man in front. as his head pulls bak to see the damage, his tail sweeps round hitting the man.
Bite attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Bite damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Tail attack 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (13) - 2 = 11
Tail damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
If it makes the game mechanics different having TzeTing attacking the human last round, just assume TzeTing does the 20ft to catch him up this round and does a single attack.
Solaria Jesari
Solaria moves forward 15ft moving her hands shaping a vial in the air, before violently moving her arm pointing at the hobgoblin as she shouts, "Dirah gnash orragia". as the vial propels forward to the hobgoblin.

Sorry I havn't replied, getting back was a nightmare, hated how much the damn kids messed up the place. Not to mention playing Mass Effect 2 sucked away my soul! Meh, anyway getting back to this, I really should balance things out.
Mal's arrow nearly hit's the rogue, but he's just too quick and dodges out the way. Same with TzeTing he shifts and moves quickly, avoiding being hit.
Due to the movement of TzeTing one of Badger's Dogs get's a AOO on the rogue for firing whilst within 5ft of him.
The Hobgoblin drops his Crossbow and looks around. Seeing himself surrounded he smirks as he focuses on his dark evil symbol and releases a torrent of Negative Energy.
DC12 for Half-damage for everyone apart from Mal as he is just out of range..
1d6 ⇒ 1
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
[ooc]Wow, this isn't their night. Negative Karma to the DM for forgetting you, clearly. Any who succeed you still take 1 as you can't take less than 1 damage as I read, unless DR of course.[/dice]
The Hobgoblin is annoyed that his release bearly did any damage and was hoping to have dropped you all. the Rogue was completely surprised by the surge of negative energy that hit him and he looks very annoyed at the Hobgoblin.

[ooc]Thank you Whisper for helping with showing Mal the Map in you're creative way and it's helped me place you when I wasn't able to upload it to the web. Map looks good to me.
Fox's AoO promted by Rogue's fire. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Fox's damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Badger 9/10; Fox 5/6; Hunter 5/6; Victor 12/13
Badger's hounds whine and cringe with the dark energy coursing through their bodies. Badger curses the dark gods for their apprentice's calling upon their power.
DM Aron Marczylo
Map is fine except you need to move Whisper up to the Hobgoblin--she should be directly west and below the fire. I assume she missed?
PS: I assume that's a Fortitude save you want us to make: 1d20+4
Oh s#!*, no it's a Will save due to it being channelling negative energy, like when you use positive energy against undead they save for half and when undead use negative energy living creatures save for half. I'll go make the changes and yes if a 15 hits then 13 won't neither.
Solaria Jesari
Just wondered if the acid splash hit the hobgoblin last round?
Incensed that hobgoblin just channelled energy which hurt her TzeTing, repeats her actions and says once more "Dirah gnash orragia", and what looks like a vial of smouldering liquid is sent on its way towards the hobgoblin. As she cries to TzeTing, "It was him next to you that hurt you." She runs forward to be near her eidolon.
Casts Acid Splash at the hobgoblin, moves 20ft towards TzeTing
Ranged Touch Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Damage 1d3 ⇒ 2
Solaria HPs 12/13, TzeTing 10/11
TzeTing
Hearing Solaria's cry and reacting to the wave of hurt from the hobgoblin. TzeTing turns and presses home an attack against the grinning black cleric.
Bite attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Bite damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Tail attack 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (10) - 2 = 8
Tail damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Badger Woods
Is the Hobgoblin still up?
Last round Kyras's bomb splash of 5 damage with DC 15 Reflex.
Last round Solaria Touch attack AC 14 for 3.
This round figure that Solaria hit for 2 and TzeTing's Bite hit for 7
That would make it between 9 and 17 points of damage.
Just want to know if I stay with Hobgoblin or shift to go after Rogue.
Whisper Blueflame
IF HOBGOBLIN IS UP: Whisper will stab at it mercilessly with her rapier, and she will draw her short sword for future use.
Attack, incl flanking bonus: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Plus Sneak Attack 1d6 ⇒ 5
IF HOBGOBLIN IS DOWN: Whisper will move through dog and Badger to get to Rogue without provoking, standing north of the Rogue.
Attack, no flanking: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
ETA: Really, dice? I was fooling around with the saves I didn't need to make, so you give me good rolls then. And now... I'm sorry. *sigh*
DM Aron Marczylo
You havn't hit the Hobgoblin at all and bombs have been missing, nearly hitting the poor girl and possibly killing her.
The acid from Solaria hit's the Hobgoblin for the first time and really pisses him off. The Hobgoblin is still standing strong however not too much after that nasty bite from TzeTing. He is cornered for lack of a better word and once again channells negative energy burst.
"You shall fall and I shall feast on your bones like I have the Children. You, elf, will be first." he grunted and leered with a finger pointing at Mal.
Same DC as before
1d6 ⇒ 1
OMG...ANOTHER 1? Wow clearly following a evil Deity doesn't pay off.
The rogue moves off into the corner, loading his crossbow and he was out of combat when he went before Mal so it hits if Mal had addd the -4 for firing into combat.
