LMFAO
My God, talk about a walk of shame xD He probably felt like the biggest idiot afterwards. That's grand.
That's the issue I'm in too - no cell atm. Though, I don't mind - it's one less bill to pay. In emergency situations like that though, you really feel that "I have to do it this way or could die" fight-or-flight response, even if the bad guys aren't actually threatening (as it turned out due to them fleeing, but during the situation you don't know that!)
Coworker told me, "See? I told you that's why you need a phone!"
I told coworker, "What's a phone going to do? Cure my wounds after I've been attacked? Gonna save for a gun instead - that'll end the situation before it can escalate!"
Besides, the police will have to respond to the scene due to gunshots getting reported anyway, so it's basically a two-in-one device xD

My wife, having lived near some unpleasant places, is terrified of being broken into. We live in a good area now, in a residential area with a main road and several small businesses and there cameras, but she still worries.
So, in my bedroom we have;
One Crossbow.
Three swords - a scimitar, a falchion and display of Kadaj's twin-bladed Katana.
Two knifes - a 12 inch African knife and a 8 inch Arabic gutting knife.
A three meter length of spiked chain.
Needless to say the poor bastard who breaks into my house is going to find several things going wrong, the main one being myself, who typically sleeps in, at most, underpants, emerging like a bear from hibernation carrying whichever two of those come to hand. I'm also 6ft 3 and have a beard to my chest. I look like an angry Viking.
And then there is my best friend, who's almost as big, with his own array of weaponry, living two rooms alone...

Joseph "Joey" Adams |

Lmfao Oh s@+@ yeah - I've always wanted to get a replica of Kadaj's sword xD Wouldn't mind a gun-blade too.
And only if they're chihuahuas, Dave. Only if they're chihuahuas. -nod-

Hey sorry i've been MIA since Thursday... on Monday I came down with a cold and it REALLY hit me Thursday night.
Then Friday afternoon cutting open a packet of Theraflu with a serrated knife (stupid, yeah i knew it was, did it anyway) I filleted my finger, had to go to the emergency room. No stitches, but I need to get a tetanus shot Monday. :(

Technical Difficulty |

Lmfao Right? RIGHT? xD They haven't been back yet though, fortunately. Hopefully they'll just stay away because if my laptop and the like ever got stolen, I would be devastated ; A;
On the plus side, I got a role for a person's personal animated series they're working on x3 They just need two more female roles to fill and then it should be full, I believe. I'm excited though - I've been itching to do voice acting work for a long time now xD The character seems like they're going to have a long of fun parts too - I'll share some stuff whenever things get finalized and what-not ^^ I just hope they don't decide to cancel the project xD

Joseph "Joey" Adams |

Four hours later and I finally got Joey's updated character sheet!
Christ, Mac's don't play well with others >:( Had to completely rebuild my character sheet, but at least I'll be able to edit it quicker in the future.
Found the perfect reference image for Joey too xD
Dem sexyass Joey
I had rolled a 1 when doing Joey's HP for leveling up also xD Which makes matters worse because his CON is -1. I still gave him +1HP though because Hero Lab said to. xD Damned luck.

Joseph "Joey" Adams |

Hiiiiisssssss >:( And then I went full-retard and shared the "home (preview file)" link..
Damn you, 4AM Justin! Lemme try it again..

Lmfao Just noticed a typo on my Spellcraft - should be +9, not +12
That's the last time I do any character customization that late ever again xD
But if anything doesn't look right, just let me know.. I'll deny it was my fault and claim it be an accident >:)
"Oh, I gave myself 200HP? Woooooops."

There's some internet weirdness going on at my place; hopefully it's temporary (I'm at the mall posting this). If it lasts the weekend, I'll only be able to check a few times until it comes back; sorry ahead of time.
No problem. I'm no stranger to internet weirdness over the years.

Joseph "Joey" Adams |

Seems to have come back on while I was at the mall, thankfully. I was looking down a four day weekend potentially without internet. Whew.
Oh God! D: That would've been terrible! Only a FOOL would face a four-day weekend without the Internet's support!

Hey! I remember that place o:< I passed by when I was living in Cleveland. Should've went when I had the chance xD
And mall-hopping - certainly seems like something I could get into xD I love the atmosphere of the malls, even if I don't buy anything. I just enjoy meeting strangers and talking with associates. Especially love it when I leave with something nice though xD

Maria Socorro Castillo Santiago |

There is a mall in my town, but I've not been there since... damn, don't think I've been there this century actually. None of the places I shop are in the mall, mainly because West Ridge Mall's rent is ten times what it is outside the mall. So, only places like Victoria's Secret, Old Navy, and and such that mostly only are in malls are there. Even GameStop finally said screw that rent and got a place outside the mall.
Of course, them signing an exclusive contract with Camelot music (which then became Fye... it was right when Camelot was restructuring to be FYE, but before they announced that name to the public) to be the only store able to sell music and movies, driving the place I shopped at for movies (and especially anime) out of business didn't help my opinion of them. They denied they would ever do such a thing (they said that Suncoast's contract was up and they had chosen not to renew,) but both Suncoast Motion Picture Company (who was said store) and a few other stores that were selling movies but would soon not be able to (they couldn't force them to renew their contract early, but when it came up again... no more movie sales). Which, being that movies were the ONLY thing that Suncoast Motion Picture Company sells, that's technically not the owner's 'choice' to not renew the contract. To my knowledge, FYE still maintains that monopoly on selling movies at West Ridge Mall (and their anime selection sucks compared to what Suncoast had.)

Joseph "Joey" Adams |

I hate when things like that happen :( There hasn't been anything like that here (to my knowledge - knock on wood) yet, and I hope it doesn't ever come to that. Our local West Gate Mall (funny thing about malls and having "West," yeah? XD) had an FYE, but they went out of business due to a lack of sales and the space became a "Best Buy Mobile" store. I did miss that FYE - I couldn't understand how the only real music store in the mall could go under, but I guess people here just don't buy CDs like they used to xD They weren't the only ones selling CDs in the mall though - Hot Topic and Earthbound and Night Songs had their own mini-selections, though they all are geared only towards the demographic that shops there. FYE offered everything (CDs were pretty much the only reason I shopped there xD), though it sounds like they had some karma coming at them. Maybe that's why this shop went down xD They tested the fates.

rando1000 |

I like suncoast myself. we have (or had) one in one of our St Louis malls, at least up until a couple years ago. Honestly, I don't generally shop in malls so much as people-watch and maybe have some food in the food court. I grew up with the mall being a place to go to be around people, and I guess I never outgrew that.

Maria Socorro Castillo Santiago |

Yeah Suncoast opened a new store outside the mall, but it was a smaller area which meant smaller selection and they closed down after only a month because they no longer had the walk-by exposure that one has in the mall.

Joseph "Joey" Adams |

Seems like a shame that I've never even seen nor heard of Suncoast before here in the Texas Panhandle. Though it could be that there was one before and they just closed, or maybe they just never expanded to this siiide o' the Mississppi. xD

Maria Socorro Castillo Santiago |

Maybe just not in Texas. Their old HQ was in Minnesota. They used to be a LOT more prevalent on the West Coast back before DVDs. I remember the first time I went in there, they had the VHS of Terminator 2: Judgement Day for $90. Cruel Intentions, my favorite movie at the time, was $75. (I never bought any movies other than anime back then) It wasn't until DVDs came out that movies became affordable (and that's when I started buying movies other than anime)... which is funny thinking back, since buying movies is so normal now, when in the 80's and early 90's it was a luxury thing. Like for example, I had nearly the entire series of Saber Marionette J (was just missing the last tape when Suncoast closed :( )... 12 VHS tapes purchased at $30 a pop. Now you can get the entire series on DVD for $30. Craaazy.
Now, they're pretty much dead, as FYE continues to outperform them on all fronts... to add insult to injury, they were bought out by Trans World Entertainment who also owns FYE in 2006.
OH and lastly GM, can you see about "deactivating" Zelda? I hate when I accidentally post as her, even changing it to Maria doesn't remove her from the campaign.

rando1000 |

Evidently most of the stores were closed in 2006 by their new parent company, Trans World Entertainment Corp. The only mall in my area that used to have one no longer does. Seems like a lot of industries that used to support multiple big players had only one of those survive the internet revolution, and it's not always the one I would have chosen. I always liked Borders better than Barnes and Noble, and Circuit City better than Best Buy. Guess I can really pick the winners.

SATANIC POST COUNT HAS BEEN REACHED!
Ikr - when I saw the post count I was like, "Awwww, Joey was 666? Looks like he's going to Hell rip :c"
And lul @Valda UK anything typically confuses Americans - like that magically colour-changing puddy you lot have! Witchcraft! :P I always love learning about the cultures of other places though (especially stores and their selection and the flavour of foods and drinks in particular xD) - and you guys have good candies xD I had a pen pal once that sent me a box of random snacks things that she got from a little grocery store, and I sent her a US gold coin and some random things back.
Pen pals are fun xD

Maria Socorro Castillo Santiago |

We have a store called Forbidden Planet here in Topeka, although I doubt it's the same store. Pretty sure it's more local, definitely not a 'megastore' haha. I just looked at your Forbidden Planet's webpage, and don't recognize the signage lol I also have no idea what they even sell.
As for UK culture, a lot of my favorite shows are British. Doctor Who, Misfits, Monty Python, The In-Betweeners, Pramface just to name a few.

Joseph "Joey" Adams |

One of the many things different between the US and England I've heard is that our bread is almost unbearably sweet to them xD I saw it mentioned in an article somewhere - I'll have to see if I can find it somewhere.
Cultures are fun xD

Maria Socorro Castillo Santiago |

Another article I saw that was interesting was about how much culture and how we are raised affects so many things. Like I forget what European country it was or if it was all of Europe, but the article said that skunks don't stink there. As Americans we know that a skunk is one of the nastiest smells ever... but is it? Truth is, we are taught from an early age "this stinks" and so by the time we are adults we know that skunks stink. Whereas in [some] European countries, having never been taught they stink for generations, they don't.

Quick question: What are the stats for a monkey? Like, I cast a spell to summon a monkey, what would the stats be?
These are the ones in the book, but they seem a little weak to me, knowing what I do about monkeys. What do you think? I think 3 Strength is quite low.
Also, Rando, do you mind if I swap out a 2nd level spell I've not used for a first level spell?
Generally not allowed in the rules to the best of my knowledge, but message me the exact swap and I'll consider it. It'll probably be okay.

Maria Socorro Castillo Santiago |

I think being that they are intended more as familiars, that's why the monkey is not so strong. Plus, I don't know... are the TINY monkeys so much stronger like apes and orangutans are? That said, Pathfinder has the str for all the primates wrong. Like a gorilla hey have it as 15 when it should be more like 27. They are MUCH stronger as us.
To give you a real life example of how much stronger they are than us, my local zoo has on display a steel-belted tire that was tied in a knot by one of their orangutans.
So, I think it's a case of do you want to use Paizo's 'primates are just less intelligent humans with more hair' or do you want to beef them up to reality and make their CR go through the roof?

rando1000 |

I wouldn't push a small monkey up too much higher, but I'd expect it's more like 8 than 3.
I guess maybe part of the problem is the Str includes both lifting ability and attack benefits. No matter how strong your muscles are, as a tiny primate you're only going to be able to lift so much. But I'd expect you're not at -4 to hit and damage.

Maria Socorro Castillo Santiago |

I asked about this on the Pathfinder RPG Facebook forums, and before I got fed up and deleted the entire thing, the consensus seemed to be of two minds.
1. Pathfinder wanted gorillas to not have the STR of a Hill Giant, so they lowballed them. Feel free to up their strength if you think you need to, just don't forget to increase the CR.
2. Other primates are not as strong as we think, a Str 15 gorilla is on par with the best PC heroes, which is where they are.
The main reason I deleted it was people started making fun of my example and it just pissed me off. My example was as I said above, that the Topeka Public Zoo has on display a steel-belted radial tire that one of their orangutans tied into a knot. Some people seemed to think that a human could do that, some seemed to think that most primates aren't going to know how to do that, etc.
One guy actually said that "The Mountain" has a strength on par with the strongest gorillas. Which was laugable, since his feat was to move a 1320lb. log a few feet. Don't get me wrong, that's VERY impressive... but he's still about 700 lbs. away from what a male silverback gorilla can throw around with one hand.
Then there was the guy who said "Pathfinder is fantasy." like that just answers every question about why something was done a certain way.

rando1000 |

Yeah, I watched some videos and the little monkeys seemed pretty incapable of knocking over a group of young women, so I'd say, while 3 is a bit low, it's not by much.
My official ruling is: Use monkey stats from prd, but increase damage from 1d3-4 (essentially 1) to 1d6-4(essentially 1-2).

Yeah sounds about right... it's when you get to chimps that you start getting the dangerous disparities between humans and other primates. Capuchin isn't really gonna be able to kill ya (unless he's the Outbreak monkey ^_~) but a chimpanzee totally can.
As for your decision, sounds good!
