Sen, I remember, which is why I always refer to you with one 'n'. I selected the elven archer/rogue picture for your avatar for you. I had moved you , because you moved up to get the tome, then I pictured you leaning up against the wall and reading. I will move you as I resolve combat. You may also roll for your next attack as that will be resolved before they can act again.
The young elven rogue snatches up her bow and scrambles back to the stairs, letting an arrow fly as she moves. The arrow flies right through the throat of one of the fliers!
Three kobolds bottleneck Godfrey in the doorway, coordinating strikes and two of them manage to get through his heavy armor! Godfrey take 4 and 5 hp for a total of 9!
The remaining kobolds swarm Uriah, Sir Adrian, and Ander! Sir Adrian takes a hit from a crafty kobold as its friend distracted him with a flurry of wild swings! Adrian takes 4 hp! Uriah gets hit with a pincer move and is stabbed twice! Ouch, Uriah, take 4 and 4 for a total of 8 hp! One of the fliers rushes in on Ander and cuts him with a slash of his small dagger! Ander takes 5 hp!
Spernik chants softly as a shimmering shield appears then fades. Then he calls down a sacred flame on Godfrey, Godfrey Dex save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 which the priest scoffs and simply side-steps.
Ander steps up and lops off the head of the flier on him and steps right over the body and rushes for Spernik! One of the kobolds he runs past manages to cut him in the side, but he takes a breath and soldiers on! Ander takes another 4 hp (for a total of 9) then uses Second Wind to bring him back up to 9 hp.
Godfrey snarls at the kobolds and pokes one with his shock-stick! I am going to make it 3 hp, because I am assuming that you are using shocking grasp with your wand of the warmage +1. Just based on the numbers you rolled with.
With a forward step, Sir Adrian cleaves a kobold atwain and moves to protect both Uriah and Sen from the onslaught of kobolds and Uriah backs away from the two on him!
Okay, waiting for Sen and Wrathmire to chime in, then the next round of craziness!

You open the double doors at the end, and one of them falls to the floor with a crash. The light from your torch floods the 30-by-20 foot room. It appears to have been a kitchen, if the stone fire pit is any indication. A door on the far wall leads to a small but empty larder. The room is dry and dusty except for a few patches of wet stone on the floor.

Sen you may move before the kobolds get another round of attacks.
EDIT: It engulfs the torch leaving you in darkness, but you can still make it out with your darkvision.

My action was posted earlier...
You had to withdraw because you had two on you. Would you like to do the same next round?

Uriah Lewis |

Oh, no. I was just confused. I'd like to cast vicious mockery..so we can use that action in my last post.

Kobolds & Spernik1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Sir Adrian Fullbright 1d20 ⇒ 3
Sen draws a bead on a kobold whose attention is on Sir Adrian, taking advantage of the distraction, and puts an arrow through its neck! Remember that you may add your sneak attack even if you are attacking something that is engaged with one of your allies. You were 1 hp shy of killing it, and noticed that you were not including your Sneak Attack damage. Of course, I just realized that you may not have added it because you didn’t know if you would be able to take advantage of it.
One of the kobolds decides that Sen looks like an easy target, not realizing that Sir Adrian noticed it moving toward her. Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Greatsword: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 4) + 3 = 13
Sir Adrian swings his greatsword in a wide arc, but the kobold ducks under and scrambles up to Sen! The kobold slices into Sen, and she grimaces in pain trying to fend it off! 4 hp for Sen.
The other kobold, lacking a partner to coordinate with, swings hard at Sir Adrian, but his dagger can’t find a clear opening!
The kobold on Godfrey attempts to attack him again alone, but it merely scratches a line along the thigh guard of his armor!
Spernik, with an angry Ander in his face, hurriedly casts a spell causing a dark, dragon-headed mace appear before Godfrey! The mace swings at his head, catching him square in the temple! Oof! Critical hit! Sorry man, take 10 hp!
Then, once confident that the spellcaster is taken care of, the young man tries to get Ander to back away with two quick swipes of his dagger! The first stab digs in, but the second, perhaps because he got overconfident, fails to pierce Ander’s armor. Ander takes 4 hp.
Whew, rough round! Okay, everyone may post their actions. When I get a bulk of them, I will try to put them in a semblance of order. :) I have Uriah and Turoks's actions, Godfrey, since there is only one kobold, that may be gone by the time you move, you still want to Thunderwave?

Ander, the hit for 10 hp was on Godfrey. It seems that he is concerned about keeping the spellcaster busy while he hopes to take you down with his dagger.

Sir Adrian Fullbright |

Round 2
Sir Adrian attacks the kobold on him.
If that one is already dead by my turn...
Sir Adrian moves in and attacks Spernik.
GS Att: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
GS Dam: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 3 = 6

Sir Adrian, if yours is dead and Sen's is not, would you help her or attack Spernik first. Just want to check for that eventuality. :)
Ander, no worries, I can see how you might've. I was just trying to show that he is on the verge of panicking, but still has enough wits about him to be able to act rationally.

Senn |
I often forget about sneak attack. If I can roll it retroactively, 1d6 ⇒ 6. I'll try to remember it next time.
This round: Disengage and move back, preferably such that I can still at least observe the battle even if I don't have a clean shot. May as well use my bonus action to dash if it gets me a better spot.

![]() |

@Sir Adrian, gotcha!
@Sen, I forgot that you are 2nd lvl! You may use your bonus action to disengage, then take the shot if you wish.
@Ander, I assume you will be swinging at Spernik?

Ander Meliamne |

Oh, are we into the next round now? Yes, Spernik is my target! I'll be using my Inspiration on this one as well:
Longsword (ADV+5): 2d20 ⇒ (4, 19) = 23=24, Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Uriah Lewis 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Sir Adrian Fullbright 1d20 ⇒ 3
Ander swings his sword and catches Spernik across the cheek! At that hit, Godfrey sees the dragon-headed mace waver a bit, but remains solid.

Wrathmire |

Wrathmire shuffles past Godfrey, lines up for a few shots at Spernik and shoots.
Hand Xbow Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Hand Xbow Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Hand Xbow Damage 2: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
I guess take the 4 on the second d6 - so 13 damage crit for Spernik

![]() |

Wrathmire sidles past the kobold facing Godfrey, and fires his crossbow twice, the first bolt buries itself deep in Spernik's side, but the second flies wide. Ander feels a breeze as it passes near his head!
Again, Godfrey sees the maces shimmer, then solidify once more!
Knowing that he cannot take much more punishment at this rate, calls upon his god and feels the invigorating feeling of the divine magic flow through his body.
Uriah taunts the kobold on Sen, but it ignores him, muttering something about 'meatbags'.
Godfrey cuts open the kobold on him and looks back to Sen to make sure she's alright before he heads to face off with Spernik.
1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13
Sen, you may go then I will have the remaining bad guys go.

Uriah Lewis 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Sir Adrian Fullbright 1d20 ⇒ 3
Sen nocks and feathers the kobold before it could come at her! Its gurgle signals the little creature's demise.
The last remaining kobold, furious at being ignored by Wrathmire, turns his attention to him, stabbing forward! The crossbowman simply steps aside, as if the little creature wasn't even there.
Spernik's floating dragonmace swings at Wrathmire after that critical hit! Holy crap! The mace brains Wrathmire! Critical hit! Wrathmire takes 10 hp!
The young acolyte casts a spell and looks at Ander, "Flee."
Ander, make a DC 13 Wisdom Save.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Everyone can go! Ander if you fail, you must move away from him as far as you can for one round.

Ander runs away, then shakes his head, as if it suddenly clears, What happened?
Just as Spernik's confidence begins to build and he calls out, "Hail Tiamat!" Wrathmire spins with the blow from the mace, shaking the cobwebs from his head and looses two more quarrels that thud into Spernik! At that, a wicked smile creeps across the crossbowman's face as the watches the black, dragon-headed mace shimmer and wink out of existence!
Blood begins to trickle out of Spernik's mouth as he grimaces in pain! Godfrey rushes forward, intent on having the kill, ignoring the little kobold that seems to be having fits! It swings at the sorcerer with an attack of opportunity, but misses wildly! Godfrey's wand crackles with electricity as he fries Spernik where he stands!
Uriah steps into the room once more and literally mocks the last kobold to DEATH!
End combat!

You were just about to attack when Uriah swept in for the kill. Your initiative was just behind his and a couple behind Wrathmire and Godfrey. Lord, there will be no living with that man now... ;)

Uriah Lewis |

"We are now safe from treacherous hooligans and knaves sir. My swift blade brought an end to that one there" Uriah brags, pointing his still unsullied rapier at the fallen Kobold.
"The bastardous rogue Spernik mentioned Tiamat...is that some sort of Kobold curse word?"
-Posted with Wayfinder

Senn |
Sen hurries back into the room and scoops up the key fragments Spernik had (searching the body if necessary).
Who has the other pieces? she asks, examining the two she has carefully.
history: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 arcana: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 to see if I know anything about the key, its pieces, or the complex we're in.
history: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 arcana: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 to see if I know who or what Tiamat is.

![]() |

Wow, nice rolls Sen! I am assuming that you are sharing this with the group, so I am not spoilering this.
When Sen fishes the key pieces from Spernik's pouch, she notices that they are attached together. She also notices that there seem to be directions engraved on each of the pieces that indicate how they fit together. She cannot remember anything about this key, but does remember reading that this complex was supposed to have been connected with a druid circle called the Circle of the Scale, one that revered the might of dragons. The connection with dragons is what calls to mind the Mother of Dragons, Tiamat. This goddess, or demon if you ask some, is often represented by a five-headed dragon, with each head corresponding to a separate chromatic dragon color.

![]() |

Oh, before I forget. While taking a short rest, besides the green and black pieces of the key, Spernik has a gem that Ander says is worth about 30 gold, a ring that causes the hair on the back of your neck to raise (you are sure it is magic), whoever spends the short rest to identify it finds that it is a ring of fire resistance. You also notice that the scimitar in his scabbard is silvered, but he neglected to use it in combat.
The two tomes that he handed over will net you 100 gp from the sage, but the young fanatic also had a journal that details a mission for the Cult of the Dragon to recover a dragon's scale that he refers to as Tiamat's scale and deliver the relic to a red dragon named Scorlworyx, that lives in the Dragonspine Mountains.

Turok goes back to finish off the ooze, but he doesn't want to waste arrows so you uses his sling, ie. less expensive ammo. Obviously he can't mark something else until this thing is dead, so he needs to finish it to move his hunters mark. Do you really want me to go through the rolls since I can outrun it, and it doesn't seem to have ranged attacks, or do you just want to call it dead and have me subtract however many sling bullets it would take on average to finish it? Sling is 20/60 and since I'm already at disadvantage I'd stay at good distance.
Turok finishes off any other oozes or slimes or whatever in the kitchen with his sling, he moves and shoots keeping a 30 foot distance or more at all times. He finishes them so he can fully explore the kitchen for treasure without danger. Again, do you really want me to go through all the rolls, or do you just want to mark these things as dead? Turok has 20 sling bullets, so unless there is like 5 more of them, and other creatures in the kitchen that aren't slow, he can't run out of ammo, and he can't get hurt. on average he'd deal 1d4+1d6+3 dmg as I remark enemies and move my hunters mark, and has a +7 to hit.
He then catches back up with his allies. obviously he finishes them off before the short rest, if we are taking one, which would take like a minute to his task.

![]() |

Turok finishes the ooze fairly easily. As he explores the kitchen, he finds two more wet spots that he tests with sling bullets, and sure enough they are oozes as well! I will say that it takes a total of 9 bullets for you to beat them, though it becomes a little more difficult, because the last two are close enough that when you "activate" one, they both attack you. However, they are dispatched at range, within 3-4 rounds each. He does get stuck in a hairy situation, where the last one almost corners you, but your last stone takes it down. Investigating the kitchen, Turok finds nothing of value.
