As the one troll yells, nearly killed by Findurel's arrows - they both sit upright. Tezuzu finishes what Findurel started before the one can get out of bed. The massive troll tumbles to the floor, making a crashing noise that is heard easily above the grind of the clockworks. From beyond the doors to the south, a voice can be heard yelling "What's going on out there. We're trying to eat."

The other is caught by Maka's flame and Quasit's attack as it gets out of bed. The surviving ice troll yells, "Get out here. We're under attack." Attack of opportunity for Quasit.

Somehow the vile creature had managed to get its claws under her chain shirt, and the next thing she knew it was digging its filthy nails deep into her belly like it was a bowl of porridge. And after the dig, it had yanked away chunks of her guts and sent a spray of blood splattering over the nearby bed and walls. Bent nearly double and cradling her mangled belly with both her arms, short sword hanging limply from one hand, Quasit stumbles away from the fight, and ends up leaning against the wall next to the door, teeth clenched and sweat dripping from her forehead. Your longsword should be 2d6 damage since it’s now large. Your damage should look like this. +4STR, +4PA, +2WS, +1WT, +1MW so 2d6+12. I think we’re gonna need every last drop of damage here in a bit.

Selena hung back a moment as her companions rushed in against the trolls, and cast chill touch for the charges, then came in after everyone else had gotten attention and moved to flank the still standing troll. Grimacing as Quasit took a bad hit, but she couldn't waste the charges she had so kept her course around the side of the troll, ready to let her chill touch hurt him if actually managed to hit her on her approach, though she held her new sword up to parry any attempted strikes.

Sorry for the delay. Selena casts chill touch then moves to flank the last troll with Bulvi. Chill touch discharges against whomever I touch, so theoretically, if a monster hits me while I hold the charge, the monster should be hit by the spell automatically. Some GMs have called it unfair though. I'll leave a dmg roll below if you allow it and he hits me.

After launching a blast of fire at the incoming troll, Maka took a running start. Fire grew around her feet with each thud on the floor. Leaping forward, she grabbed on to the enlarged Bulvi, using him to turn her momentum. At the height of her arc she released and twisted in the air, kicking the built up fire at the troll.

Tezuzu sizes up his opponent as the trolls flurry of stikes are dodged and parried by the tengu.

He has an alarmed look on his face as he turns to glance over at Sakitu "You're too close, get back further behind Bulvi. I'll be fine....." he says turning back to look at the troll as dodges it's last claw as it goes pounding into the floor with a echoing smash punctuating his warning. "Well mostly fine...Go!"

Selena uses the sword primarily to parry and avoid attacks while she aims to punch the troll, but the creature moved right then causing her swing to go wide.

defensive attack, punch plus discharge: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3

I never noticed the spell explicitly mentioned hands before. As general case though, when making an unarmed strike, a successful hit discharges a touch spell (mentioned in combat section about holding charges), and unarmed strikes can be any body part. I'll have to review others to see if they mention specific body parts. Likely, Selena will try to modify the spell to work with kicks, elbows, knees etc if you allow such spell research (I am portraying her as a prodigy of magic so it'd fit character well to make the attempt even if it fails). The spear didn't work out so well, so now she's working on a harder touch style. We'll see how it works out.

Feeling mostly better this morning.

Sakitu watches the battle with wide eyes. Her gaze switches to Quasit leaning against the far wall, her lower section and the floor around her covered in blood. "Quasit! Use your potion!" she urges her friend. Concern is clear on her face.

Tezuzu's command brings her back to focus on her own danger. "Ok. Yes, I can move away. But first..." She reaches to Tezuzu's arm and pushes a flow of her innate magic into his arms. A hoary frost covers them. "There, you will do more damage for the next few seconds"

Then, she steps back and moves towards Quasit.

Cold Steel on Tezuzu's unarmed attacks. For a monk, his unarmed attacks are considered weapons, right? If that's not going to work, then I'll apply Cold Steel to Bulvi's weapon instead.

On the cold steel thing; Tez has a +1 Amulet of Mighty Fists. Those are by the rules able to be enhanced with special properties like flaming or frost. So perhaps it would work on that, but I would like to see what GM Lareg would have to say. I suspect it won't matter because I don't think cold damage will work well on these guys, but I would like to hear the answer.

Tezuzu takes pause once Sakitu is a safer distance aways and considers the landscape of the battle. He maintains a combat stance waiting for the last troll to come to him. He will call out confidently in Giant.

Giant:
"We are three of your brethren down now. We have fire. We have the numbers. Surrender and we may let you keep your life, your own possessions, and their share of whatever food is left. Oppose us and we will give you death. Make your choice."

Combat Stuff:

Standard Action: As soon as Tez can see the next troll Misfortune (DC 16, Will, Su)

-Yang-
Ready Action: Attack, Bite.

Yang, Bite Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 2 = 17
Yang, Bite Damage, Piercing: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Immediate Action use: I have two spells that I can activate off turn. If either of these events occur Tez will do so.
-If a troll hits Yang Shih he will use his immediate action to activate Shield Companion and transfer all the damage to himself.
-If Attacked and troll has not failed his save against misfortune he will activate Stone Shield to get +4 Cover AC from all attacks till his next turn.

He will hold back avoiding the impulse to rush in through the door and await a response or for the vile creature to move through the bottle neck of the doorway and expose himself to the rest of his friends fire and his curse.

Quick Question, Are dead bodies difficult terrain?

Maps: Travel * Hut and more

A grumbling voice shouts from the small room.

Giant:
The witch is more powerful than you can imagine. You do not scare me.

The ice trolls are immune to cold. I'll make appoint to sort that out for future purposes. The large bodies are considered difficult terrain.

Suddenly the wall next to where Tezuzu is standing gives way from the force of the ice toll's assault. Bulvi and Tezuzu are in danger of being covered with bits of wood.

EDIT: Also, I would consider Tezuzu as still having actions beyond save.

@Lareg I do. Tez should act before it gets another turn in R4 anyways with round 3 being spent destroying the wall hopefully exposing itself to the rest of the party. Tez wasn’t keen on drawing the AOO to go fight a troll alone in a cramped room hence the readied misfortune.

Selena rushes then blinks above the troll to land on it, hopefully discharging a chill touch as she lands on it and grabs on, and maybe even getting a stab in with the sword.

CMB/ATK: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
dmg if chill touch, +1if sword: 1d6 ⇒ 1

This poses an interesting question, if a touch spell with multiple touches is available and then is in a grapple, and thus in constant contact, how quickly can the charges discharge. Even accidental contact can discharge, so an attack is not required, so number of attacks per round doesn't make sense. Mass touch spells for affecting a party can touch up to 6 per round, but that isn't continuous contact. Without grappling, the max would be the number of attacks the caster gets, plus the number of attacks the target gets, plus the number of opportunity attacks the caster gets, which could easily get up to a dozen.

Maps: Travel * Hut and more

Selena suddenly materialzies above the troll. Unable to grab ahold of it she falls to the ground at the feet of the troll. The creature is so absolutly dumbfounded at her sudden appearence that it doesn't seem to notice Tezuzu's attacks until it's last breath flows from it's lungs, cursing it's clawed killer.

Combat is over. Sounds a little bit like those crazy ray spells. A moot point at the moment as the grapple was unsucessful. Fun image all the same.

Selena lets the magic dissipate and casts mage armor on herself, silently chastising herself for forgetting prior to actual combat.

"See, teamwork is good. I distract it and you hit it." Selena says to Tezuzu in a tone that might possibly mean she is making a joke of her missing.

I asked in the rules questions forum as well, and I suggest thinking on it as there is a decent chance of it coming up again, especially if we fight more oversized enemies.
