I love archer druids. The Nature Fang druid archetype is one of my favorites. Slayer talents and studied target completely take care of the ranged aspects of the class. Then you have full druid casting, which is just a utility belt full of tools you can change up each morning.
Never played an Android in Pathfinder but it's basically all I ever play in Starfinder. I always make one that has some sort of obsession with pop culture. Something about synthetics and pop culture has always scratched some sort of an itch for me.
And then of course there is the classic of a synthetic who realizes the inherent weakness of flesh. Humans die in a vacuum and they can't see in darkness. Most of the universe is a dark vacuum! Humans suck and someone needs to call them out for it. Except for that human. That human is perfect a cinnamon bun and if anything happens to them I'll kill everyone in this room and then myself.

From the damage, I'm guessing we only lost 1 grenade in the monkey business?

Um...that was APE business, thank-you-very-much.
And now I'm trying to figure out how to give Chest Thumper one more point of intelligence and the gunslinger feats necessary to be a monkey machine gunner.

So I actually think the hut is still the safest place for us to camp. The hut itself is basically invincible, and it's a different plane on the inside. That protects us from long range bombing, and Rasputin can't scry and fry us nearly as easily. Plus just having the one entry/exit is a lot easier to defend.
If we are going to be outside, let's not forget that Selena has Secure Shelter. Fairy Ring Retreat Is also a good shelter option and can even be combined.
As for the scouting and getting into the hellscape, resting a day and letting Kal change up his spells gives us a ton of options. Insect Spies is great for scouting out an area and getting info. The greater version let's Kal easily map the place out.
We have a lot of options for getting in, but the defenses are still very much in play once we are inside. Probably best to save the teleports and the like as get out options rather than get in.
Wind Walk would make it very easy for Kal+4 to get in and out.

Until we have to leave the Hut. We might find ourselves faced with 100 entrenched soldiers and a couple tanks.
My hope was that waiting until dark would give us a chance to recover all our spells. I suspect once we start in there, we won't get another chance to rest. There are indeed a lot of spells that could be very helpful for getting us in and out. And it will be up to the casters to bring those up. Quasit thinks like a rogue and plans accordingly.

One slightly inconvenient fact is that I don't have the Invisibility spell. I only have Greater Invis. Since that only lasts 13 rounds, Fin won't be invisible long enough to fly 1000 feet or hang out.
Does someone else have Invisibility?
Findurêl |
Change of plans then…
GM, is this plausible?
I’ll await for a patrol approaching the gate; then have Sakitu cast the spells on me; I’ll fly high enough to one of the gate towers and lay down quietly there, using my cloak and my blend spell. Should be able to spy the layout from there as well hear any exchanges between the guards and returning patrols…
Findurêl |
Yeah, still working thru that…worry ‘bout that when I get there ;)
GM_Almonihah |
So basically just a different form for a one-use magic item? Single-use use-activated items are generally fine in whatever form you want them to take, but I will want to approve each one. Haste would be okay.
So, is Fin going there without a plan to get back out, or are you wanting to think of a plan to get back beforehand?
Findurêl |
Here’s my return plan…
I was going thru our loot sheet and noticed that we had an obsidian raven figurine I could use as a messenger. Once concealed atop the gate guard tower, I’ll try to stay long enough to see/listen to a patrol entry/exit to get the procedure down…when ready to come back, hopefully after dusk, I’ll send the raven back with a message of ‘now’ to Quasit and Maka…that’ll be Maka’s cue to fly far to the opposite side of the camp (in a roundabout way to avoid detection) and set off a fireworks display to draw the guard’s eyes…if my flight spell is used up, I’ll use the rope of climbing along with one of those hiding potions, climb down quietly and make my way back on foot, perhaps hasted by the bracelet if allowed…
If anyone has a better idea, I’m all ears…
Quasit* |
Do we have a message spell? If so, you don't have to come back to give us the info -- just stay hidden on a tower til we get there.
Findurêl |
The obsidian raven can carry a message if I recall correctly…
Maka Na'Shota |
Sounds good.
Quasit* |
I don’t think we need a Maka distraction any more, Fin is gonna just fly there, hide on the roof of a tower, send us a message raven, then shelter in place til we make our move after dark. The distraction would probably work, but it would probably also put the soldiers on higher alert, making our bluff less likely to work.
Findurêl |
Should probably mention the salute as well
argh, thought I did…my first post got eaten and I think I had mentioned it; if the GM allows. I had 6 words left and will use 4, The leader salutes and…
Findurêl |
Thanks, GM. And nice job with the pass code in Cyrillic (I couldn’t resist, I pasted it in a Russian translator)…
Bulvi |
I might just take the firearms proficiency feat, I wouldn't be making ammo myself but I suspect we'll have enough to run out the campaign.
@GM Almonihah at level 13 I'll get another weapon training so Bulvi will get a bonus to hit and damage with the longsword and can take a secondary group to get bonuses with. At level nine I picked up an alternate option rather than this group. If I had picked up a group then it would be increasing at level 13 to +2.
Ideally I had optimized it I could have picked up firearms at level 9 I would be looking at a +2 at level 13 for them and could have picked up the advanced weapon training at 13 even though picking up firearms then would have made no sense.
If I pick it up at level 13 I'll only have a +1 for firearms but it's purely because of the order I'm picking up the abilities. RAW the +1 is what I will get but since it's just a quirk because of the order I was wondering if there would be any GM clemency. If not no worries. I've copy pasted the various parts in the spoiler below.
"Starting at 5th level, a fighter can select one group of weapons, as noted below. Whenever he attacks with a weapon from this group, he gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls.
Every four levels thereafter (9th*, 13th, and 17th), a fighter becomes further trained in another group of weapons. He gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls when using a weapon from this group. In addition, the bonuses granted by previous weapon groups increase by +1 each. For example, when a fighter reaches 9th level, he receives a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls with one weapon group and a +2 bonus on attack and damage rolls with the weapon group selected at 5th level. Bonuses granted from overlapping groups do not stack. Take the highest bonus granted for a weapon if it resides in two or more groups.
A fighter also adds this bonus to any combat maneuver checks made with weapons from his group. This bonus also applies to the fighter’s Combat Maneuver Defense when defending against disarm and sunder attempts made against weapons from this group.
Advanced Weapon Training: Beginning at 9th level, instead of selecting an additional fighter weapon group, a fighter can choose an advanced weapon training option (see Advanced Weapon Training below) for one fighter weapon group that he previously selected with the weapon training class feature. Source: Pathfinder Player Companion: Weapon Master’s Handbook
Weapon groups are defined as follows (GMs may add other weapons to these groups, or add entirely new groups):"
"Firearms: all one-handed, two-handed, and siege firearms."
"Advanced Weapon Training: Beginning at 9th level, instead of selecting an additional fighter weapon group, a fighter can choose an advanced weapon training option (see Advanced Weapon Training below) for one fighter weapon group that he previously selected with the weapon training class feature. Speaking of Cyrillic, I don't know how well this will translate to text but I'll try anyway. This is a true story.
The company I work for has an office in Ukraine. I used to visit there a couple times per year. COVID and the Russian invasion put a stop to that.
One of the first times I was there I was driving around with my host and I suddenly told him "Misha, I know how to say restaurant in Ukrainian. It's peck-toe-paw." He looked at me like I was crazy but I pointed to a restaurant that we were passing. The large letters were:
PECTOPAH
I said, "See peck toe paw." His eyes got all confused for a second and then we both burst out laughing. You see, in Cyrillic, P is the "r" sound, C is the "s" sound, and H is the "n" sound so really this was:
restoran
Of course I knew that so I was just pulling his leg. But still, it was funny. Misha and I are good friends now and he lives in the US (and works in the same office as me) so we frequently talk about going to the peck-toe-paw for lunch.
It is really interesting that if you learn the sounds that the different Cyrillic letters make, you can read a lot of the signs in a place like Ukraine. For example: ctoπ is "stop" and продукт is "product" like on the outside of a store (imagine that д is like the Greek capital delta and y makes a "u" sound).
Anyway, now you all know the Ukrainian word for restaurant.

I would assume Comprehend Languages would’ve been cast on one or more…might be best if Bull is doing the talking as he’s the most obvious male. If it’s a yes-no question, probably best to answer ‘no’ as that’s pretty common in most languages…
Maka Na'Shota |
It's 10 minutes/level so plenty long enough to cast it beforehand.
Quasit* |
I'm not sure anyone specifically said they were casting Comprehend Languages. I know Quasit made some references to the language problem, but didn't include Comp Lang in her original plan outline.
Hopefully whoever casts the spell can use Maka or Bulvi for cover. Can Selena cast while scooting along in snow form?
Findurêl |
Maka mentioned it to the GM over on Discord; though Selena hasn’t distinctly mentioned it in the Gameplay thread as yet…
Maka Na'Shota |
Yeah comprehend languages is the only language spell we currently have access to. Selena can cast it and we also have a couple of scrolls with it. If Kal rests he can prepare share language, which is great for a helpful NPC but won't really help us sneak past the guards.
Findurêl |
Hey Saki, I put Fin’s icon at his current location; it’s the tower to the right of the gate you just entered. He’s on top of it…thinking there’s plenty of time to fly over and cast the spells, and then fly over the second gate and meet up with others there…
Sakitu |
Sorry. Got sick on my vacation. Been sick since Thursday but I'm on the mend. I tested negative for COVID (whew!) but this has been the worst cold I've had since I got mono as a teenager. I'm not quite up for posting yet. Maybe tomorrow.
Quasit* |
That's a pretty long recon trail. Fin is liable to be gone half an hour at least, which is a long time for us to be sitting still and for him to be out alone. Let's maybe do this in smaller chunks?--like explore the western portion of the compound then come back?
Findurêl |
Roger that, Q, altered the path, doin’ left side first…
Sakitu |
I think I'm back to the land of the living now. Turns out that it was COVID. That's the second time I've gotten it. It's never fun.
Quasit* |
COVID cases are on the rise again. The new booster should be available at pharmacies now or soon. I plan to get a COVID booster and flu shot together in the near future -- so far I've managed to never catch COVID and I'd like to keep it that way.
Selena Snoe Yelizaveta |
Selena will grant comp languages to anyone wanting it.
Quasit, covid is just a flu. It's highly politicized right now, so don't go trusting the government on it. Seriously, doctors are being silenced on the issue. That absolutely means wrongdoing on the government's part.
But if you still go for getting shots, first, stay away from the rna ones as that's not a vaccine (that's not how vaccines work and thus no rna based shot could ever be a vaccine), and second, vaccines don't benefit from "boosters," again, that's not how vaccines work. It's possible they are taking new vaccines for new variants but that's not a booster either, so one must wonder why they are being called boosters. The whole thing stinks to high heaven, so be careful and skeptical. Trust nothing.
Quasit* |
Quasit will cast Comprehend Science on Selena.
I work in health care and I have professional degrees. Vaccines are a boon to mankind. Anyone who worked in hospital ICUs and respiratory wards during the early days of the pandemic watching people die on respirators understands the truth of what this virus was all about and that it wasn't the goddamned flu. Please spare me your nonsense.
Selena Snoe Yelizaveta |
I am not an anti-vaxxer, but rna shots are not vaccines.
I myself am not entirely uneducated on healthcare, especially vaccines which have ruined my life, hence me studying those in particular.
Anything hot in politics, which includes everything covid related, is unreliable. You can not trust anything that is a hot political issue. All sides are lying to gain the upper hand. I don't care what political alignment you ascribe too. So I'm just saying to be careful and skeptical.

How long to climb the ladder? Any check required? Is there a trapdoor at the top?
When Fin was on top of the guard tower at the entrance, the GM mentioned they were 30’ tall…assuming he meant the to top of the tower, I’d guess the ladder to be at least 20’…
Findurêl |
Is Selena up? If so, Maka, do you want to bot her? I would but I don’t do magic very well…
Kalchine |
Tomorrow I am leaving for a Dizzying World of dwarves, witches, princesses, fairies, pirates and flying elephants, so this will probably be my last post until at least next Wednesday.
I'm not even sure what to tell you guys to do for botting Kalchine and Chest Thumper. Kalchine will heal folks when necessary and Chest Thumper will try to hurt people while avoiding getting shot as much as possible.
